Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Tianjin, plus a close Dalian, or Ningbo and Xiamen Bar, these cities are probably comparable to us, but after careful analysis, we can rule out some of them. Xiamen has already widened its economic strength, and its positioning is different from us. It can be ruled out. It is also difficult to squeeze the regional advantages of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou, and we do not have this problem; Beijing, Shanghai, as a domestic political and cultural center and economic center, has obvious misalignment with our Blue Island. I personally understand that we have some competition at present, but that is only part of the industry and does not involve all aspects; Guangzhou’s situation is similar to Beijing, Shanghai, and it is far away. It can only exist as a regional economic center in South China, and there is no big problem; Suzhou’s industrial structure is quite different from us, and our Blue Island is unlikely to follow the development model of Suzhou, so there is no big problem. If we can truly form a competitive advantage for us, in terms of nationality, Shenzhen and Hangzhou are the most challenging, while the competition that is imminent is Tianjin and Dalian."

According to Dong Jianwei's analysis and judgment, Lu Weimin and Jing Zhizhong have completely different feelings.

Although Dalian is slightly weaker than Blue Island in terms of total economic output, its situation is really similar to Blue Island. The climate, transportation, location, and even the resource endowments in all aspects are particularly close. It can be said that if a project or investment is a little negligent, it may be poached by Dalian because the conditions between the two places in this regard are really small, and they can even be ignored.

Similarly, Tianjin is also the main competitor of Blue Island. As a municipality and the economic portal in the north, Tianjin has a strategic position in history higher than Blue Island. Tianjin has a strong advantage in heavy chemical industry, which also determines that it is more powerful in terms of economic aggregate, but it is also more susceptible to industrial structure adjustments. Therefore, it is also highly competitive with Blue Island in this regard.

As transportation hubs, Dalian and Tianjin pose direct challenges to Blue Island, especially for the goal of Northeast Asia transportation hub center. Dalian and Tianjin also compete with Blue Island in heavy chemical industry, and in individual individual projects, Dalian and Tianjin still have their advantages over Blue Island.
