Chapter 1674 Arsenal

For the Japanese, a 6.5 million tons steel plan is a huge project that they cannot imagine. Such a large project cannot be completed overnight. The total investment of a 6.5 million tons steel base is in the final production time of 2 years. The largest one-way one-way, including a single-machine steel mill project that will exceed 600,000 tons. This is a modern steel mill that Japan has never carried out before.

Nearly one million tons were put into production, most of which were ordinary construction steel, rebar and standard steel. However, among the early investment, one of the special steel projects with an annual output of 100,000 tons was related to the situation in Alaska. This was a project specially launched for militarized purposes, with the highest priority. This project was completed at the first time and was delivered and used in early 1917.

For China, special steel projects are just a trivial one among the huge steel projects, even a 100,000-ton special steel project. The overall investment of 6.5 million-ton steel projects does not exceed 7%. In terms of technical indicators, it can be regarded as the most advanced level in the world. Compared with China, let alone China's most advanced special steel, even ordinary civilian steel companies, many Chinese special steel companies have exceeded the Japanese standards.

The strength of the steel given to Japan was China's level five years ago. Such gun steel, on the level of World War I, can only be used to make artillery below 100 mm, and cannot be used at all on more than 100 mm, 155 or naval guns, or on them. The barrel that must be thickened will make the guns heavy to an unbearable level. Just like a Japanese artillery in later generations, artillery with the same caliber is at least 30% heavier than developed countries in Europe and the United States. In the field of infantry artillery, let alone 30%, for large-caliber artillery, 10% means that it is unbearable. One ton of extra weight is a nightmare for infantry soldiers.

For China, this is backward and can no longer be applied to the steel marks in the military, but for Japan, this is not the case. When they obtained these special steel indicators, the Japanese felt like they were treasures. Before they came to the Chinese system, even seamless steel pipes and ordinary war defense guns could not be produced by themselves. From this level, they suddenly jumped to the 100mm guns themselves. This level of improvement made Japan feel like it was in a dream, and even did not believe that all this was true.

Time moved forward slowly. With the hard work, at the beginning of 1917, the 100,000-ton special steel project was successfully put into production. In February 1917, the first batch of special steel was successfully produced. When Japan cheered and finally entered the artillery era, as a supporting project of this 100,000-ton special steel project, a gun factory entered the trial production time a month ago, and in January 1917, it successfully produced the first artillery.

This is very representative in Japan's history of Alaska. Even senior officials from the army and royal family participated in the entry ceremony of such an artillery. Although such an artillery was just a 50mm mortar, the role played by it on the battlefield was very small.

Most special steels need to be produced in military terms, with only a very small part. When it is used for civilian purposes, it will basically tilt towards the military when it cannot reach its peak output. When such a gun factory is not in place, the Japanese use imported Chinese steel to run-in and produce artillery.

Japan has a tradition of producing guns and cannons. As early as the Warring States Period, there were masters who made guns and cannons. However, their technology was not high. Long-term industrialization also allowed Japan to accumulate a group of technical workers. Just like China before, these technical workers were not used. They were scattered into various factories, just as a slightly more skilled worker, doing hard work.

In fact, this is the habit of most countries in this era. No one, including Britain, France and Germany, has seen the importance of technical workers. That is, Germany. They have not seen the importance of industrial workers. They attach importance to workers and production, and coupled with their rigorous style, this has formed a relatively primary industrial workers system.

This is also the fundamental reason why Germany can use a province to fight against the entire world. Because of Yang Yuanzhao's time travel, China used the essence of the Westernization Movement in advance, using it as a seed, and combined with the technical materials brought by Yang Yuanzhao from later generations, China has achieved a complete transformation. In just a few years, it has surpassed the world's advanced level. The industrial capacity is so strong that even ordinary government officials have not realized the limit.

In order to support Japan and resist the United States, of course, we have to come up with something real. In addition to satisfying Japan as much as possible in terms of weapons and equipment, the rest is just a process of adjustment. However, if these adjustments are replaced by oneself, it will take a long time and even take countless detours. However, China only needs to point it out and simply train Japan, and use limited industrial workers and technicians to the right place, and the power will be immediately displayed.

A factory with only 8,000 workers, most of which were drawn from the original Japanese arsenal, and a small number came from other industries and could not even be affected by guns and cannons. In Japan's view, the original arsenal had more than 15,000 people and no more than 800 guns were made every day. I think this arsenal would be slightly improved, but not too many. At most, it would be a little supplement to Alaska, which could match the propaganda of ordinary military and civilians. Japan had the determination to keep Alaska, and had already placed the military factory in Alas.

But the real output shocked Japan. During the construction of military factories, they have been running-in and produced separately, but there is no total number. However, after almost the running-in, the output of the first overall trial production exceeded Japan's imagination. The production of Japanese rifles reached 1,600, 150 machine guns, 60 mortars, and several bullets and shells. Basically, half a wing can be equipped in a single arsenal. This is also the largest output among a separate arsenal. Even in a sense, the total output of the entire Japanese arsenal may not be comparable to this number.

There are 1,600 people a day, more than 500,000 people a year. According to the current Japanese army, only two or three years, the replacement can be completed, not to mention one-tenth of machine guns and a large number of artillery guns. There are only more than 8,000 people in such a factory, which is beyond the imagination of the Japanese. The Japanese think this is the limit, but with the running-in of technical workers and the guidance of China, the ability of Japanese rifles to produce has not been much enhanced, doubled to reach 3,200, the machine guns have significantly increased by more than 500, and the mortars have also been enhanced by many 80. The most important thing is that there are 37 war defense guns with 500 and 75mm and 90mm guns each.

As long as there are enough people, Japan can produce it. The worst thing is that the cost is lower and the labor consumes a little more. However, the artillery is different. This is the king of the army. When Napoleon proposed that artillery is the king of the army and the god of the battlefield, artillery has occupied an important position in land warfare. After contacting China's ordinary military system, the Japanese know how huge the gap between them and China is, under the dense artillery.

Any human wave tactic is for giving away people's heads, not to mention China alone, there are many types of shells, especially infantry killing bombs. Japan doesn't know why the Chinese are so powerful that they have made such a dense killing shell. Thousands of steel balls, driven by gunpowder and explosive power, densely enveloped the bomb explosion area. After China uses computers to calculate, it basically reaches more than 90% of the lethality.

This lethality is very terrible. You should know that ordinary shells have gone from solid to hollow for one or two hundred years, or even longer. Although solid artillery in the early stages has a huge effect on siege, their lethality effect on personnel is not strong. When artillery fire was called the king of the army, it is more of the deterrent force of artillery fire. When a solid artillery shell is driven by the power of gunpowder, it can destroy all madness and crush everything, not many people can withstand such powerful pressure.

When the hollow bomb appears, the lethality of the artillery to the infantry is significantly improved by relying on the lethality of the fragments and gunpowder itself. When facing large-scale infantry charges, the artillery can also play a certain role. However, after seeing the Chinese infantry killing bomb, an ordinary 75mm cannon will carry thousands of steel balls with a diameter of no more than 0.3 cm. These steel balls will run irregularly in the range of the shell explosion. It looks like a small steel ball, under the premise that the gunpowder of the artillery has been blessed to a certain speed, and the range covered by the power of the shell will become a desperate area.

Before, Japan could not produce artillery, and it was difficult to prevent the 37 war defense artillery. Mortars, which are imported into the United States seamless steel pipes, are processed. The overall efficiency is not high. However, now, a factory with only 8,000 workers has produced large-caliber artillery that had never been produced in Japan before. If there were more personnel, what would it be like? Maybe relying solely on the arsenal in Alaska alone would be enough to support the war situation in the entire America. With enough equipment and arms to arm the Japanese samurai, they can not only block the US military, but also may even conduct counterattacks. The fire of ambitions burst out quickly. Japan not only sent people to learn the experience of this arsenal, but also took the initiative to ask China why a simple arsenal, an arsenal with only 8,000 people, has such great power and production capacity.
