1.81 The Secret of the Moon Tides Part 1

"Wowhahaha..." The laughter suddenly overturned the roof, and the drinkers covered their laughing belly and kept pounding the tabletop.

Just as he was smiling, the gate was suddenly pushed open by someone. The guards in armor walked in surrounded by guards. The drinkers stopped making noise and left the stage to the big figures in the town.

"Stinky fools, you have a job!" The captain of the guard covered his nose and swept across the hall, waved his hand in annoyance.

The guard behind him rudely tore off the parchment paper and nailed an oak bark scroll to the notice board.

When the guards left, drinkers flocked to the scene.

"The mayor recruits warriors to the Gray Mist Village, with the priesthood companion!"

"One golden shell per person a day, three meals are provided for free!"

"The treatment of registered mercenary group is negotiable!"

Good news kept flying out of the crowd, and the house was empty. One hundred silver shells were equal to one golden shell, and the half bag of silver shells in Wu Chen's hand could not be exchanged for a golden shell, and this was the entire wealth of the robbers.

It can be seen how generous this is.

Sitting in the corner of the empty tavern, Wu Chen simply picked up his glass and walked to the bar.

"A foreigner?" The boss personally filled Wu Chen with ale.

"Yes." Wu Chen nodded and put down a silver shell casually. "Boss, what happened in Huiwu Village?"

Before the boss could do it, the silver beads had been plundered before his eyes. Exaggerated voices rang behind his ears, "Ahhh! Let Roger, who knows everything, tell you."

A gust of wind passed by, and a man named Roger sat next to Wu Chen and bounced the silver shell he had just obtained to the boss, "Two glasses of rum, I'll invite you."

The boss shook his head helplessly, put the glass that had just been wiped in front of the two of them and carefully filled it. "Please use it slowly."

Wu Chen's palm under his robe relaxed slightly, and he pinched the wine glass and touched Roger who had been waiting in the air.

After dipping his lips, Wu Chen then put down his wine glass and waited for Roger's statement.

"Grey Mist Village is the closest village to the Mist Swamp, a wealthy manor, according to which it is about seventy miles, is the last place for humans. They settled on the edge of the swamp and relied on the dry soil on the edge of the swamp to make a living, and in exchange for necessary supplies of life. Grey Mist Village is also the last place for caravans and adventurers who go deep into the swamp."

Seeing Wu Chen nodding, Roger smiled and said, "Half a month ago, the living zombies in the mist swamp suddenly rioted and began to attack the gray fog village. It is said that the losses are huge, so the village also sent people to the town to issue a task to remove the living zombies."

The boss behind the bar added at the right time: "It was not surprising that zombies attacked Gray Mist Village, but it was usually during the tide of the Nether Moon. It was really weird now."

It's the tide of the dark moon again?

Thinking that Wu Chen didn't know, Roger put down his empty cup and gently clicked the table to signal the boss to fill it up. "This is a unique wonder of the mist swamp. When the moon appears, the fog rising from the mist swamp will rush out of the swamp and rush into all directions like a tide. The most powerful time even occupied the entire hill for three months. The mist blocked the sun, and it was a paradise for living zombies and ghosts."

The boss exclaimed, "The zombies and ghosts who died in the swamp are wandering around with the tide, devouring human flesh and souls, luring them into the embrace of darkness."

The boss's words seemed to hurt Roger's scars. The man raised his head and drank the wine and dropped the wine glass heavily onto the bar. "Damn alive!"

Wu Chen asked thoughtfully: "What is the strongest undead in the mist?"

Roger and the boss said in unison: "Knight of the Twilight!"

Seeing Wu Chen silent, Roger next to him raised his eyebrows, "How about it, let's do it together?"

Wu Chen shook his head, threw down a silver shell, found out the address of the mercenary union, and said goodbye and left.

The lower-level mercenaries Wu Chen encountered were all humans. They were not stamped with dark marks and became immortals. They seemed to be inseparable from the entire world. There was no trace of similar traces here that was happening in the king. People still drank afternoon tea leisurely, or wandered around with their hands behind their backs. The fastest one who walked was Wu Chen.

As a free leader who can operate, the energy of the mercenary group and chamber of commerce in Wanshi Town cannot be underestimated. Wu Chen had just appeared in the bar and was already targeted. When he walked out of the bar, his identity was even more checked.

So before we could get up the steps, the guards had already greeted us respectfully.

"Ri'an, Lord Lu's Master."

"Rising, warriors." Wu Chen kept a smile just right.

"The regiment commander is waiting for you." The guard opened the door to the mercenary union.

"Okay." As soon as Wu Chen entered the hall, his breath was locked. The powerful soul fluctuations were constantly rebounding by mirrors placed in various parts of the hall, completely disturbing Wu Chen's judgment.

The light and shadow flashed in a giant oval mirror placed directly opposite the door, and a hazy figure appeared.

"Great Master of Wild Wizard, what do you want to exchange?"

He used the word exchange. Wu Chen thought for a while and said, "Eternal Fire."

"We must say that we cannot refuse."

"I will give you the eternal fire of life, and you must repay it with enough sincerity." Wu Chen smiled and bid.

The mirror ripples rippled, and thirteen undead warriors with different shapes walked out. The sudden stable soul fluctuations immediately became extremely powerful. Wu Chen compared the evil dragon that was trampled to death by Mrs. Butterfly. The strength of the Thirteen Element Warriors was even stronger than the evil dragon!

"His Excellency Master Lu, as you wish, we will become the sharp sword in your hand." The leader of the thirteen led everyone to humbly lower their heads towards Wu Chen.

"The contract is reached. Your task is very simple..." Wu Chen said with a smile.

"It's that simple?"

"Believe me, this is not simple." Wu Chen reminded with a solemn expression.

Before leaving, Wu Chen asked about Mingyue Tide again. The answer he got was: Du Ai Knight. Perhaps they didn't know that Wu Chen had become the new Du Ai Knight, but Wu Chen contacted the Thirteen Knights through the Du Dormitory Badge, and the answer he got was also ambiguous. But one thing is certain that Mingyue Tide is a natural phenomenon, and no one is pushing it behind the scenes.

Natural phenomenon?

Wu Chen decided to go to Huiwu Village to find the answer.

After leaving the town from the southern city gate, Wu Chen did not summon the nightmare, but moved towards the swamp alone. As he came, he planned to cross the swamp, take a shortcut back and visit the Fort Twilight Knights.

The hiking journey was quite boring. After turning the huge rocks blocking the road, the target suddenly disappeared.

"Huh?" Roger, who followed all the way, quietly appeared, searching for traces left by the target.

"What do you want?" A cold voice sounded behind him. Roger's scalp numb and a chill rose all over his body. He bit his lip and Roger slowly raised his hands, "I have no malice, I just want to be a companion with you."
