Chapter 129

Liu Feng didn't know the rhythm that was brought up on the Internet. Even if he knew, he would probably laugh it off.

Because his research project has now entered a critical stage, even if the sky falls, it will not touch his heart to be exhausted in the laboratory.

There are two main difficulties in seawater desalination reverse osmosis membrane materials: one is the filtration problem of impurity particles; the other is the price problem.

This problem is the best solution for the filtration of impurity particles.

Whether it is the previous polyamide composite materials or various graphene-like materials, it can solve this problem well.

The particle size of water molecules is about 0.4 nanometers, while the impurities such as inorganic salts, heavy metal ions, organic matter, colloids, bacteria, viruses and other impurities in seawater are basically much larger than those of water molecules. In addition, water molecules are flexible, even 0.1 nanometer holes will often expand enough to pass after being impregnated by them. Therefore, the channel structure of reverse osmosis membrane materials is generally controlled between 0.1 nanometers and 0.5 nanometers; and Liu Feng has now discovered at least hundreds of materials that meet these conditions.

After all, there are basic theories, and graphene-like materials can be used as reference. With the help of superpowers, Liu Feng can finally synthesize new materials suitable for seawater desalination by controlling the microscopic particle combination reaction.

However, what makes Liu Feng feel extremely sorry is that once at least 99.9% of the new materials here break away from his supernatural control, they will either fall apart instantly or react with other substances, and their physical and chemical properties will be extremely unstable.

Fortunately, when the waves wash away the sand, there are always several new materials with stable properties and strong operability in the future. Of course, even if it has a certain operability, it still requires Liu Feng to deduce it carefully and then conduct repeated experiment verification, and even to hit the fortune like buying a lottery.

After all, it is not a concept to go from synthesis to practical application of a new material.

Price issues have always been a mountain on the road to large-scale use of new materials!

In the spirit of Yugong moving mountains, Liu Feng has verified more than a dozen new materials in the laboratory, but he has not yet found the one that satisfies him.

At this moment, a new material he was working on was his latest discovery, number 127.

If you have to give it a name, it can be called a porous carbon fiber microcrystalline graphite oxide composite material.

As can be seen from the name, this material has a porous structure. It not only has the characteristics of carbon fiber with high axial strength modulus, low density, high specific properties, ultra-high temperature resistance, insoluble and unswelling in organic solvents, acids, and alkalis, but also has the high adsorption properties of microcrystalline graphite oxide, and its adsorption and filtration ability of various impurity particles in seawater is very prominent.

The reason why Liu Feng discovered it was also due to an accidental opportunity. When he was tinkering with various carbon fiber materials and graphene, he accidentally saw an inspiration: If the properties of both can be retained at the same time and synthesized a new material, can this new material be used for seawater desalination?

Therefore, new materials appeared, and the verification results were quite gratifying:

This new material has a stable structure at a temperature of -35℃~180℃, and is resistant to acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and has high strength. Compared with traditional polyamide composite materials, its Young's modulus is more than three times that of the latter; of course, this material also has a porous structure with a pore size of about 0.3 nanometers - it is simply a natural reverse osmosis membrane material!

The ecstatic Liu Feng analyzed and recorded the tolerance data of this material in various strong stimulation environments while studying the problem of synthesis through laboratory.

Generally speaking, there are many factors that cause the price of reverse osmosis membranes, but in the end, they are mainly raw materials, energy and labor.

This composite material can be synthesized by cheap graphite oxide as the starting material. Therefore, the raw material cost is much cheaper than other materials, and the application prospects are of course very broad!

As for the issues of energy and labor costs, in Liu Feng's opinion, it is a matter of opinion. As long as the production process is constantly adjusted and optimized, the energy and labor costs can be completely controlled.

Therefore, the main problem that Liu Feng is facing now is the optimization of the production process.

He has roughly deduced the production method of this porous carbon fiber microcrystalline graphite oxide composite.

The first step is to put the graphite into water and disperse ultrasonically to form a graphite oxide solution with a uniform dispersion with a mass concentration of 0.25g/L to 1g/L. Then, add ruthenium solution with a mass concentration of 8% dropwise to the graphite oxide solution to form a solution with a mass concentration of 0.25g/L to 2g/L.

The prepared mixed solution is then placed at 1150°C, penetrates into ruthenium, and then cooled to about 850°C, a large number of carbon atoms absorbed before will float to the surface of the ruthenium to form a single layer of carbon fiber microcrystalline graphite oxide material in the shape of a lens; and after the first layer is covered, the second layer begins to grow immediately; the material on the bottom layer will have a strong interaction with ruthenium, and after the second layer, this material is almost completely separated from ruthenium, leaving only weak current coupling.

The derivation results cannot be regarded as the final result. After all, experiments are the only criterion for testing truth. However, there are often too many uncertain factors in experiments, and an inadvertent mistake can completely cause immeasurable consequences.

Therefore, Liu Feng had to try it carefully and carefully. A slight noise from the outside may affect his manipulation of the experiment, so he simply moved into the laboratory and did not come out all day long.

A few days later, the results of the experiment came out. Liu Feng, who was unkempt and fucked, was both happy and worried.

What’s good is that his theoretical deduction is basically correct, and this method of production is indeed feasible!

What is worrying is that the thin sheets of material produced in this method are often uneven in thickness, and the bonding between the material and the matrix occasionally affects the pore structure of the carbon layer. Even laboratory production has these problems. If you put them in the pilot to amplify the production, you will not know how many problems there are!

Liu Feng was not satisfied with this.

But what exactly is the problem?

He frowned and thought hard.

...

Liu Feng's project research has reached the final stage of optimization and control of production processes, and it is basically a matter of time before complete success. But just as he was doing experiments day and night, the outside world's discussions and doubts about him have reached its peak, and even had a certain impact on the decisions above.

On the eve of National Day, the China Science and Technology Association was holding a meeting here that concerns the development prospects of the entire seawater desalination community.

The main content of the meeting was to discuss the establishment of the reverse osmosis material public relations research team. It was chaired by Zhang Qin, the top leader of the SHU journal of the Association for Science and Technology. More than 20 people including the president, executive deputy secretary, executive vice president and other relevant leaders of the Association for Science and Technology attended, and even a secretary of the National Strategic Development Committee was present.

"Secretary Geng, the meeting can begin, what do you think?"

Zhang Qin asked Secretary Geng for his opinion.

The so-called National Strategic Development Committee is actually the title of the think tank behind the national leaders, which directly affects the decisions of the national leaders. Therefore, even if these people are not in high positions and are even inferior to his secretary, Zhang Qin, a seventh-rank official in front of the prime minister, did not dare to neglect the inconspicuous Secretary Geng at all.

"Zhang SHU, please be polite, then let's start!" Secretary Geng had no airs and nodded politely. After all, the purpose of his coming here was just to act as a witness.

The meeting officially began.

"...First of all, do you still have any questions about the route of reverse osmosis membrane materials?"

Zhang Qin said a few simple words and then asked the question directly.

Almost all the staff in the conference room shook their heads unanimously, which was not the focus of today's contradiction.

At the desalination meeting, the research route of reverse osmosis membrane materials proposed by Liu Feng has basically been widely recognized. Even the expert professor who is skeptical of Liu Feng has no doubts about the route he proposed, or simply said that he cannot doubt it. After all, you can propose a feasible route!

"Okay, since everyone has no problems, then we will go to the next issue! Regarding the formation of the reverse osmosis membrane material public relations research team, who will be responsible? Everyone expresses their opinions."

As soon as Zhang Qin finished speaking, the atmosphere in the conference room suddenly became tense. The participants looked at me and I looked at you, and were about to express their opinions.

"I'll also add a sentence here. According to the evaluation of our National Strategic Development Committee, the issue of seawater desalination is definitely the most influential topic in the next thirty years. Once the technology is mature and it is widely deployed, its output value can be completely referenced to China Petroleum!

Therefore, the country has decided to invest at least 2 billion yuan this year in the construction of seawater desalination plants, of which 300 million yuan is used as the scientific research funds for the project, and will increase year by year in the future; and reverse osmosis membrane materials are the top priority of seawater desalination, and at least 60% of scientific research funds can be allocated. Today's talent recommendations are related to the country's future development strategy and are of great significance. Therefore, I hope that you will attach great importance to today's meeting."

Secretary Geng made a solemn statement at this time.

The atmosphere in the conference room seemed even more tense.
