"Young Giant"
Once upon a time, a farmer gave birth to a son. The son was not as tall as his thumb. Many years have passed, and his son has not grown up at all.
One day, his father was going to plow the field, and the little guy said, "Dad, let me go too!"
His father said, "No, you should stay at home. Going out will not be good for you. If you go, I might lose you."
When the big thumb heard this, he immediately started crying. In order to calm him down, his father had to agree to take him with him. He put the little guy in his pocket and went out.
When he arrived at the ground, the farmer took his son out of his pocket and placed him on the freshly flipped soil so that he could look around. After sitting in the ground with his thumb for a while, a giant crossed the hill and walked towards him. After seeing this, the father wanted to scare Huiji's son and tell him not to be naughty, so he said, "Did you see that huge monster? Don't be naughty, he will capture you."
The giant had long legs. He took only two or three steps to the ground. He reached out and picked up his thumb and put it on his palm. Then he took him away as if he was an old friend. The husband stood beside him so scared that he couldn't say a word, and watched the giant take his son away.
He thought his son was lost and he could never see him again.
The giant brought his thumb back to his own house in the forest, put him in his arms, and gave him what he ate and what he ate. Once, the thumb was no longer a dwarf. He grew into a strong and strong tall giant. After two years, the old giant wanted to try his strength. He brought his thumb to the woods, pointed to a tree and said, "Pull out the birch tree as a crutch for your own walking."
The boy was very strong, and he uprooted the tree. But the giant thought that the boy should have much more strength than this, so he fed him for more than two years before he asked him to go to the woods to try his strength. Then he hugged the thickest oak tree and pulled it up. The situation was like playing a game for him.
The old giant said, "Not bad! My little guy, you can do it now." So he took him back to the land he took him away.
When the young giant appeared in front of his father, his father was plowing the ground. He said to his father: "Dad, come and see who I am! - Do you see that I am your son?"
Looking at the tall giant, the farmer shouted in fear: "No, no! You are not my son, go away!"
"My is indeed your son. Let me help you plow for a while. ∫ It will plow as well as you."
"No, you go!" The farmer was indeed a little scared when facing the tall giant, so he had to let him plow the field and sit on the edge of the ground by himself.
The giant grabbed the plowshare with one hand and pushed it into the ground casually, and the plowshare penetrated deeply into the soil.
The farmer shouted, "If you must plow the land, please don't use that much force, as it will be of no benefit to plow like this."
The son unloaded the horse pulling the plow and said, "Dad, go home and tell my mother to prepare a meal for me. I will plow the land now." After saying that, he didn't even want the horse pulling the plow, and pushed the plowshare with his hands and continued to plow. After plowing the ground, he raked the land and finished the work that others would need two mornings to finish.
Then, he carried all the farm tools such as plowshares, rakes, and returned home with the horses like a bundle of wheat straw. After returning home, he sat on the bench and said, "Mom, is the meal ready?"
Mom replied, “It’s done.”
She didn't dare to neglect at all, and immediately brought two large basins of food for her and her husband to eat for eight days. But the giant son finished eating quickly. After the meal, he said that he had only tasted it and asked if there was any. His parents shook their heads helplessly.
Seeing that the family was unable to provide the food he, the giant, he said, "Dad, I think this is the case. I can't eat enough at home. Please find me an iron crutch that I kept folding on my knees. I want to go out again."
My father was very happy when he heard this. He went to the horse shed to bring two horses and bought a long and thick iron rod that needed two horses to drag. But the boy picked up the iron rod and knocked it on his knees. With a "bang!", it broke suddenly. The iron rod was like a bean rod in his hand.
"Dad, I know you can't find a cane that suits me," he said. "I'd better try my luck myself."
The young giant went out to make a fussy man, pretending to be a wrought iron man, and came to a village to find work. There was a blacksmith in the village, a wealthy mistress. He earned a lot of money, and he took all the money himself. The man who worked for him almost got no wages.
The giant came to the village and first walked into the blacksmith shop. He asked the blacksmith if he wanted the iron-forged guy. A cunning guy looked at him, thinking that this guy was so strong that he must work hard to make a living. He replied, "I want it, but how much wages do you want?"
"I don't want wages, but every half month, when you pay other guys, just ask me to pat your back twice and be happy."
The old blacksmith thought that he could not care about those two tricks and save a lot of expenses, so he agreed.
The next morning, the new guy started working. When the blacksmith held him a piece of burnt iron billet, he smashed the iron billet into pieces in one go, and even the anvil was deeply trapped. The blacksmith could no longer take it out, which made the old blacksmith angry and shouted: "Hey! I can't ask you guys, you are too clumsy, our contract must fail."
The giant replied, "Okay, but you must give me some compensation. As long as I pat you gently, our agreement will be over." After that, he slapped the blacksmith, and the slap made him fly and flew over from a large pile of hay next to him. After the beating, he took the thickest iron rod in the iron shop as a cane, and lit the ground and left.
After walking a while, he arrived at a farm again. He went in and asked the owner of the farm if he didn't have a foreman. The owner and his wife were both wealth-guarding slaves. The owner said, "I want it." Then they talked about the wages, which were exactly the same conditions as what he said in the blacksmith shop, and it took once a year.
The next morning, all the workers were going to the woods to cut trees. When they got up and prepared to set off, the giant was still sleeping in the bed. A worker shouted, "Get up quickly! Then the time is right, you must set off with us."
"You just go!" he said angrily and vaguely, "I will come back before you after finishing my work." After that, he lay in bed and slept for another two hours before getting up.
After breakfast, he slowly set up his horse and came to the woods. There was a pit in front of the woods. He had to pass through the pits when entering and leaving the woods. He drove the car over first, then turned around and made a large pile of wood with branches and thorns, so that the horse could not pass. After that, he drove the car into the woods and met the workers who were driving the carriage back. He shouted, "Go! I will still go home before you."
After walking for a while, he turned around the carriage, pulled up the largest tree in the woods and put it on the carriage, and turned around and rushed towards the road. When he came to the pile of wood, he found that all the workers were standing there and unable to pass. He said, "Look, if you stay with me, you will be able to go back soon, and you can sleep for an extra hour or two." As he said, he carried the tree on one shoulder and the carriage on the other shoulder, as if carrying feathers, and stepped over easily.
Back in the farmyard, he showed the tree to the owner and asked him if it was a good crutch. The owner said to his wife with satisfaction: "Madam, this man is very capable. Although he slept for a long time, he still did better than those people."
Time passed quickly, and the giant gave the owner a whole year of work. When his companions got their wages, he said that he should be paid. Only then did the owner feel scared. He came up with an idea to beg the giant to cancel the Old Testament, and he was willing to give him the entire farm and livestock.
But the giant said, "I won't do it, I won't be a farmer. I'm a guy, I want you to fulfill our contract."
Knowing that he would not agree to his conditions, the farm owner begged him for two weeks of grace and summoned all his friends to ask them for countermeasures on the matter. Some of them discussed it for a long time, and finally thought that the easiest way was to kill the annoying guy. Then they made a plan and agreed to let the giant move some big millstones into the yard and place them at the edge of the wellhead in the yard, and then asked him to go down the well to clean it up, and after he went down to the end, he pushed the millstone down and smashed it on his head.
Everything was arranged. When the giant went down into the well, they rolled the stone. The head fell to the bottom of the well, and the water was splashed high. They thought that the giant's head must have been smashed open. However, his shout came from the well: "Driving away all the chickens by the well, they pulled down some sand on my head, and they were about to fall into my eyes. I couldn't see clearly."
After finishing the well, he jumped out of the well and said, "Look at this, what a beautiful scarf I have!" As he said that, he pointed to a grinding stone that was put on his neck. It turned out that the grinding stone fell on his head and happened to be put on his neck.
The plan failed, and the farm owner begged the giant to give him two more weeks to consider and summoned his friends to discuss again. Finally, they gave him an idea to send the giant to the mill, which was haunted by the ghosts. No one who went to the mill for the night could live until the next morning.
It was already very late on that day. The main giant of the farm took eight dou of wheat to the mill, grinding them into flour at night to the attic, putting two dou of wheat into the right pocket, two dou of wheat into the left pocket, and four dou of wheat in a long back bag and hanging them on his shoulder. Then he came to the mill to tell him that the mill was grinding during the day and not at night, because the mill was haunted, and anyone who went to the mill at night had died the next morning. The giant said, "It's okay, the mill owner! I won't have any trouble. Just finish it quickly. Go and rest, come to me tomorrow morning."
He walked into the mill and poured the wheat into the funnel to start grinding the wheat. At about twelve o'clock, he sat on a bench in the mill owner's house and wanted to rest. After sitting for a while, the door suddenly opened itself, and a large table automatically moved into the house. The table was filled with wine, barbecue and many other delicious foods, which seemed to have been there themselves. Then the chair also moved in and surrounded the table, but no guest was seen or the servant came in. It seemed that suddenly he saw a finger holding a knife and a fork and putting food into the plate, but he still couldn't see anyone.
The giant friend felt a little hungry when he saw these foods. He sat on a stool and picked up his favorite things to eat. When he was full, the dishes were empty. At this moment, he suddenly heard a sound blowing out the light, and the house suddenly became dark. He felt a heavy blow on his head and immediately said, "If I punch my ear on the other side, I will start to hit back."
When he got the second shot, he really started to fight back. He made a fuss for a whole night. He had no idea how scared he kept fighting around and gained the upper hand in the fight against each other.
It was dawn and everything was quiet. The owner of the shop got up in the morning and saw that he was still alive. He was very surprised and said to the shop owner: "Mill boss, good morning! After having a very satisfied midnight snack in the evening, I was slapped in the face, but I also responded a lot."
The miller was very happy that the giant helped him drive away the ghost and asked him to give him a lot of money, but he refused, "I don't want money, I'm very satisfied now." After breakfast, he went back to ask his master for wages.
This made the owner of the farm. He was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. He knew what kind of plan would be useless to him and kept walking around the room. Sweat rolled down from his forehead. He walked over and opened the window and sucked a little fresh air. Before he could wake up, the giant came in and kicked him first, kicking him out of the window, crossing the hills, and flying far and far away. Then he sent the owner's wife away in the same way. Perhaps the two of them were still flying in the sky now.
