Chapter 33 Digging Earth

Two days later, Old John returned to the village of Nisse with several carriages from the Sius caravan.

The small village of Nisse is full of passion.

There were villagers coming and going everywhere. They were sweating and carrying baskets of red soil on their shoulders, dumping them around the end of the village, piled up into low small mounds!

This situation not only made the skeleton of the Sius caravan feel curious, but also made Old John feel confused.

He picked up a villager in the village, "What are you moving?"

"Master John, you are back!" The villagers who were called out had a look of dissatisfaction on their faces, but after seeing that it was Old John, their face immediately changed into a humble and flattering look, "We are moving the soil!"

"I know!" Old John frowned, with a look of "Am I a fool?", and said, "I'm asking where did this soil come from? Why should I move it? Did the Baron order?"

"Yes, Mr. John, it was the order of Lord Baron. As expected, nothing can be hidden from the clever John!" The villager flattered him a little.

Old John showed a useful expression on his face, but then, Old John asked again in a hurry, "You haven't said where this soil comes from?"

"Master John is in a depression on the Cordillera Mountain, not far from the Cadim River." The villagers replied honestly.

The Cadim River is where villagers in the small village of Nisse take water. At the foot of the Cordillera Mountain, it takes two and a half candles to burn. Old John knew about it.

"Bob was so lucky that he actually let him find this place and earned such a high bounty as the Baron." After pausing for a moment, the villagers said in an envious and jealous tone.

Old John knew from the color of the soil and the actions of the villagers that this soil was what William was looking for. He was not surprised that the lucky guy could get William's bounty. He casually said, "I'm so lucky! I remember this thing, the bounty offered by Lord Baron was a franc silver coin."

A silver franc is one-ninth of the monthly reward of Old John, and it is also a considerable amount.

"Two francs silver coins! Mr. John!" The villagers' jealousy was already overwhelming.

"Two silver francs?" Old John looked surprised. He didn't even notice what he said, and unconsciously brought a hint of jealousy.

Two francs silver coins were almost one-quarter of Old John's reward, and the amount was not low.

"Yes, Master John, Lord Baron raised the bounty, so..." the villagers explained to Old John.

"How much has it been improved?" Old John felt a little nervous when he heard about money.

"If you can find it within three days, you will double it! If you can find it within three days, you will increase it by half! But if you can find it within seven days, you will only be half the original one! So now the villagers are desperately looking for a few other things that the Baron wants! Even on the way to dig dirt and exchange money in the Cordillera Mountains, they will look around, maybe they will find it if you are lucky!"

What other villagers do is also what this villagers think!

Everyone wants to be the darling of this fate!

"These lazy guys all day long, thinking about getting something for nothing, not thinking about..." Old John felt distressed for William's large bounty, and cursed. Suddenly he was stunned, his eyes wide open, looking at the villagers, "Are you talking about digging the dirt for money?"

"Yes, Mr. John!" The villagers looked at Old John strangely, not understanding how Old John made this expression.

Isn't the new Baron always like this?

Work hard and reap money!

Nor is it as cruel as other lords!

Alas! How great would it be if there were no Lizardman disaster! We would definitely live a good life under the rule of Baron Decas, right?

The villagers were imagining.

But Old John was furious and murmured, "It's true again! It's true again! My dear Baron, if you continue like this, no matter how big the gold mountain is, you will be squandered!"

However, William was never the one who could scold and teach the lessons of John. The gap in status between the two could only make John Old persuade him. This was based on the fact that he had a good relationship with William and William showed a good personality.

So, Old John spread his anger to the villagers in front of him. He stared at the villagers fiercely, as if there was an enemy who killed his father in front of him. He asked loudly, "How much is the reward for you by Lord Baron? Ten baskets of Poole copper coins?"

"Two baskets of Poole copper coins, Mr. John." The villagers were frightened by the appearance of Old John and replied cowardly.

"What? Two baskets of Poole copper coins? You are committing a crime. You are robbing the Baron's vault! No, I want to find the Baron! Where is the Baron? Are you still in the house?" Old John couldn't control his emotions and shouted loudly.

The villagers had already unconsciously shrank their bodies in the voice of Old John, and they did not dare to look at Old John directly.

Hearing Old John's question, the villager replied in a low voice, "The Baron is not in the earthen house, he brought the members of the guard into the forest!"

"Forest? Lord Baron went into the forest? Aren't he training the guard?" Old John was again questioning.

"A few days ago, a wolf attack occurred among the members of the guards! So the Baron took the guards into the edge of the forest to hunt and clear out the more dangerous beasts!" This was what William announced on the guards. He had no intention of hiding it and there was no way to hide it, so it was not long before everyone in the village knew about it!

"But the Baron is so powerful that he can't even compare with the old hunters of the villagers! Every time he goes into the forest, he can bring a lot of prey, and the members of the guard team can eat meat every day!" As the villagers said, his tone brought envy. The only thing he hated was why his son was not selected into the guard team!

"Wolf Attack? Guard? Is anyone injured?" Old John's heart suddenly raised, and his focus was on the front.

Because his son John is in the escort!

"Injured? No! Lord Baron discovered it early. The ghost wolf that came to attack was killed by Lord Baron. The rest also escaped into the forest and never harassed the village again!" The villagers shook their heads. When they remembered this, they were also afraid that if the villagers did not have Lord Baron, how many people would be used in the entire village to fill the appetite of these ghost wolf wolves.

At this moment, he missed the solid walls of Patray City again. In Patray City, he never had to worry about the attacks of wild beasts such as ghost wolf.

But the next second, the villagers became discouraged again. Although Patras is safe, it is not easy to live in a white house!

If only if the master of Patray could be as kind as Baron Decas!

However, the villagers quickly shook their heads. Nobles like Viscount Grien are normal, while nobility like Baron Decas is actually an alternative!

Alas! The villagers are in deep pain!

"It's fine! It's fine!" Old John breathed a lot of relief, then took a long breath and looked at the villagers fiercely, "Let's go, take me to find the Baron!"

"But, Mr. John, I'm going to move soil to Cordillera Mountain, two baskets of Poole copper coins! Please, Mr. John, my family can't move much soil in a day. You can find someone else. I can recommend it to you. It's very good like Bob..." The villager raised his empty basket with a little loose structure and said to Old John.

He didn't say it, but when Old John was even more angry, he snorted coldly, and then said in a stiff tone, "No, you are the ones! Take me to find Lord Baron. I have a major problem to find Lord Baron! If you miss a big thing, I will not get a Poole copper coin!"

The villagers had to cry and walked towards the forest with Old John.

He remembered that the guards entered the forest from this direction in the morning!

In the dark forest, lush canopies, one by one, are rushing to grow, and branches are everywhere, covering the sky tightly. Only a small amount of sunlight shines through the thick leaves, bringing in a bit of light to the forest.

William stood beside a tree with brown bark in leather armor, with his eyes closed in contemplation, holding a simple hunting bow in his hand and a long cross sword on his waist.

The hunting bow was bought by William from the hunters in the village. It is of average quality, but better than the ones that don’t have!

Around him, there were ten members of the guards scattered, holding wooden shields in their hands, looking around, occasionally looking at William, with admiration and longing in their eyes.

They have to admire what William did during this period!

Whether it is leading the way to kill the wolf late at night or hunting these days.

Whether it is a man or a woman, he admires the strong in his heart.

William's performance just fits the image of a strong man in their minds!

Especially Jacques Porter's eyes can no longer be described as worship. What is overflowing with is loyal loyalty to William.

Jacques always thought he was a simple person, and he would help anyone who could make him have enough food!

Whoever saves his life, then he will sell his life to him!

William not only gave him enough food and saved his life, but in Jacques' heart, his life no longer belongs to him, but to William!
