Chapter 10 Feeding the Grass

Zheng Tan squatted on a tree. This was the right place that he found with great difficulty.

There were several houses two hundred meters away, and the lights were still on in two houses. Occasionally, people could be heard. Most of the surrounding areas were fields, but Zheng Tan could see with the not-so-bright starlight.

There aren't actually many crops in the fields. The area around here should be demolished soon.

After changing into a comfortable position and lying down, Zheng Tan rested with his eyes closed and his ears erect. He didn't dare to be too careless outside.

The last light went out, some cats meowed in the distance, and sometimes one or two dogs barked from the residents' side.

The temperature in the suburbs was a little lower than that in Chuhua. The wind made Zheng Tan feel a little cold, and his hazy sleepiness was blown away by the gusts of wind.

Just when Zheng Tan was wondering if he was looking for something to do, he heard a little noise. It was footsteps. It was very light, but to a cat, it was still clear.

Zheng Tan looked from among the leaves in the direction of the footsteps. A man wearing a loose sweater walked over with one hand in his pocket and a small shovel in the other hand.

The man was wearing his hat. Zheng Tan couldn't see the face of the man, nor could he tell whether he was a boy or a girl. However, those who dare to come out alone at this time are usually men, right? Looking at this posture...could he be trying to kill someone?

Bury the body?

Zheng Tan's curiosity suddenly rose, but he did not dare to follow him rashly. Even if it was a cat, there was no telling whether it would be silenced.

The direction the man walked was filled with dilapidated tile-roofed houses. No one had lived there for some time, and there were weeds everywhere.

Seeing the man stop in front of a half-collapsed small tile house, Zheng Tan was ready to squat here and watch the show. After all, it wasn't that far apart.

The man squatted down in a corner with his back to Zheng Tan. He didn't know what he was doing. Zheng Tan didn't hear the sound of bricks being knocked, but there was a slight collision of glassware.

It wasn't until the sky began to light up that the man left the dilapidated house. Zheng Tan jumped down and took a look, but he didn't dare to get too close because he smelled an unpleasant smell, like pesticides.

Zheng Tan was curious, but he cherished his life more. Even if it was the cat's life, it was his own life.

Before the residents got up, Zheng Tan dug into the yard of a house, found a faucet and washed the footboards to avoid staining the soil with pesticides from the shabby tile-roofed house. The water was too cold and there were no paper towels to wipe it with.

Zheng Tan didn't want to lick it himself. He looked around and looked at the clothes hanging outside the house. Then he wiped his paws on a long skirt made of the best material and stepped on it with his feet, making a series of

After wiping his feet, Zheng Tan scratched off a persimmon from the persimmon tree in the yard of that house, washed it and took it away.

Several dogs barked from next door. It was probably due to Zheng Tan's movement that the dog over there heard it. The sound was a little childish, so it must have been an underage puppy.

When Zheng Tan returned to the tree, it was already much brighter.

Not long after, voices and curses were heard from the residents. The cause was the skirt Zheng Tan used to wipe his feet.

As the sun rises, the temperature gradually rises.

Zheng Tan felt the warmth brought by the sun on his body, yawned, stretched, tore open the thumb cake bag, and started eating breakfast. If it was too dry, he would nibble on a persimmon.

A small brown-gray native dog ran out of the house and ran amok in the fields. This must be the guy with the slightly immature bark that I heard before.

There were a few hens pecking in the unmanaged field, and the little native dog ran over and chased some of the hens until they clucked. One of them, a fat hen, died when the little native dog rushed over.

He squatted down and stopped, but the little native dog rushed over and paused for a moment at the fat hen, nuzzled it and took a symbolic bite twice. He probably didn't even touch the skin, and then continued to run after the other hens.

The more you chase, the more you run, the more you run, the more you chase.

Every time the fat hen sees the little local dog chasing it, it squats down and doesn't move, avoiding being driven around every time.

Sure enough, the big fat man also has great wisdom.

The little local dog got tired of chasing chickens and jogged along the road beside the field with its tongue hanging out. Suddenly its ears moved, it stopped and looked around, looked towards Zheng Tan, and then ran this way.

Zheng Tan chewed the thumb cake until it made a clicking sound. He looked at the little local dog circling around the tree, barking and circling. He threw down a piece of thumb cake that was only as long as a fingernail. The little local dog paused for a moment.

After a pause, he walked over, pressed his nose to the ground, sniffed around, dug out some thumb cake in the grass, rolled his tongue, and ate it.

After eating, the little local dog looked at Zheng Tan who was chewing biscuits on the tree, and his little tail wagged happily.

Zheng Tan would eat a piece of thumb biscuit every time until it was the last bit before throwing it down. Then he would watch the little local dog wagging its tail and looking for it in the grass, or standing up halfway to catch the biscuit in the air.

Zheng Tan was having such a good time that the bag of thumb cakes was almost empty before he knew it. Just when he was about to sigh, he suddenly heard the sound of a lighter next to him.

Zheng Tan was surprised, when did someone come nearby?!

Following the sound of lighting, Zheng Tan saw a man dressed like a migrant worker. However, even with a change of clothes, Zheng Tan recognized this person.

That's the man looking for the guinea pig!

The little native dog had just discovered that a stranger was nearby and started barking at the person.

Zheng Tan curled his lips. You are a foodie, now you are useless!

However, the little native dog didn't last long. Under the man's gaze, the little native dog ran away with its tail between its legs.

Zheng Tan didn't dare to run, he was not sure he could escape successfully.

Keeping the same in the face of all changes, let's see what this person is going to do, or pretend not to know him? After all, there are many black cats in the world. Zheng Tan thought to himself.

The man blew out a smoke ring, looked at Zheng and sighed: "I would recognize you even if you didn't wear a cat tag. It's really bad, you actually tease a puppy."

The paralyzed ones are really hard to fool!

Zheng Tan tugged his ears and tensed his muscles. Although the aura around this man was relatively peaceful now, Zheng Tan's first impression of him was so bad that he had to be on guard.

The man was smoking a cigarette, talking nonsense casually, and then suddenly asked, "Were you here last night? Did you see any strange people?"

Strange person? Does it mean the one wearing a sweatshirt?

"You have indeed seen it!"

Wei Leng saw the answer from the subtle changes in the eyes and expressions of the cat in front of him. Originally he was just asking a tentative question, but he didn't expect to get any useful information from the cat. Unexpectedly, the cat actually

seen!

"Okay, I won't ask any more questions. I just want to know what that guy did? Or what did he hide?" Wei Leng held his cigarette holder in his mouth and spread his hands to show that he really meant no harm.

Zheng Tan thought for a while, raised his chin and pointed at the dilapidated tile house.

"Thanks!"

When Zheng Tan decided to run away, Wei Leng, who was walking towards the dilapidated house, said: "Don't leave yet. I have something to ask you. If you slip away, I will catch you. You

Believe it or not?"

Zheng Tan felt a flash of silver light, and a thin metal piece was stuck on the road in front of him.

Zheng Tan stared at the trembling metal piece in front of his paw, shook his beard, squatted down on the spot, raised his paw and flicked the metal piece, filled with wonder in his heart, turned his head to look at the people in the dilapidated house, and thought again,

How could that thing that the guy in the hoodie spend so long hiding be found so easily?

Five minutes later, Wei Leng held a brown glass jar in his gloved hand and a phone in the other.

"Hey, I have good news for you...I said, there is good news...did you hear it? Hey...hey...I said your side...fuck you!"

As soon as I hung up the phone, the phone rang with an incoming call tone.

"Hey... I said, there are some clues here... Hello..."

The description of a place and the brief description of the matter lasted ten minutes and were repeated over and over again. Zheng Tan was tired from listening to it.

Zheng Tan made a rough estimate and found that in ten minutes, the person said three words most of the time - "Hey, hey", and then "fuck"

Wei Leng finally finished talking about the matter, and put the phone in his pocket as if relieved, "Fuck, broke the PHS!"

Looking at Zheng Tan who was still squatting on the spot, Wei Leng nodded, "Come with me, don't think about running away, or I'll go to Chuhua University to block you. You actually live there, right? I don't believe you.

I’ve never gone back.”

Zheng Tan: "..." Going out this time is really bad!

"You wait, I'll drive." After saying that, Wei Leng took the can and ran away.

Zheng Tan waited there for two or three minutes and saw the man riding a whitewashed women's bicycle along the rugged gravel road.

This damn thing is the car "driven" by a big man like him?!

Regarding the issue of opening the door mentioned in the previous chapter, I will actually write about it later, but since so many people have discussed it, let me explain it here first. In the past, many homes had a two-layer door type, with a metal grille security door on the outside and a metal grille security door on the inside.

It is a wooden door, and it is not difficult to open the door with the help of a metal grille security door.
