Chapter Eight: The Unsettled Night

"Wife, are you going to eat rabbit meat tonight?"

After Shu Ning left, Mu Yang's father, who was sitting on the bed watching TV, immediately stood up, showed a flattering smile on his face, rubbed his hands and walked towards her.

"Ha, I warn you, a dead old man, don't even think about it, don't make any decisions about it. I have to keep this female rabbit with a little baby."

The old woman glanced at him dissatisfiedly, with a look of disgust.

After seeing the other party's lost expression, the old woman quickly turned around and walked towards the back door, not knowing where she planned to hide it.

When the old woman appeared in the room again, the snow-white rabbit in her hand had disappeared.

Perhaps because of this rabbit, she had a smile on her face and her mood was much better than before.

Everyone was idle and had nothing to do, so they watched TV while peeling peanuts in an empty bowl.

After a long time, the portrait felt a little bored, so she stopped the movements in her hand and wanted to get up and read a book.

The Mu Yang and his wife, sitting on the chair, just looked at him and did not blame him.

Time passed quietly and it soon came to night.

As night gradually fell, the blackness began to spread around.

Mu Yang and his family were sitting on the table and chairs and having dinner. There was a bowl of pickles and fried salted peanuts on the table.

The portrait was drinking porridge, pickles and peanuts, and there was no sign of disgust on her face.

In fact, he had encountered times when conditions were more difficult than this, but in comparison, it is still pretty good now.

After the family finished dinner, Mu Yang's mother began to clean up the table and wash the dishes.

Mu Yang's father pulled him to the bed and turned on the TV, sitting there enjoying the entertainment after dinner.

After a while, the portrait washed up and went back to his room to sleep.

The cold quilt was slowly heated up, and the portrait was chosen to be at a more comfortable angle and closed its eyes.

Perhaps because the portrait was sleeping, Mu Yang's father turned off the volume of the TV a little.

After more than thirty minutes, the old woman who had finished packing came to the middle-aged man, pointed at his nose and reminded him: "I will go to bed later. Turn off the TV's sound. If it disturbs me, I will never end up with you!"

"I got it, my wife."

The middle-aged man scratched his head and spoke assured.

The old woman glanced at him, then went to bed and lay under the quilt.

After a while, the tired Mu Yang's father suddenly felt a hint of coldness, which made his whole body tremble.

He looked at the sleeping old woman, turned off the TV with the remote control, and got into bed.

The old woman who was sleeping seemed to feel something, and her face showed a dissatisfied expression.

After Mu Yang's father closed his eyes, he started snoring after a while.

The portrait, who was sleeping, covered his ears and showed an expression of boredom on his face. He put his head in the quilt to try to isolate the noise, but the other party's snoring became louder and louder.

Feeling the bored portrait, I opened my eyes helplessly.

He got up and came to the door next door, looked at Mu Yang's father who was snoring, and couldn't help but sigh.

"Since I can't sleep, I'd better go out and have a walk."

With this idea in mind, the portrait opened the door and left the home.

The moment he opened the door, a cold breath came to his face, making him hug his body tightly and tremble.

"No, I am so immunized, why do I still feel cold?"

A trace of doubt appeared on the portrait's face and murmured in confusion.

"Aowu~"

"Aowu~"

Suddenly, the portrait turned its gaze to the distance and he heard the howling of wolves.

The portrait walked curiously and found a gray figure gathering at the entrance of the village.

Their eyes emitted a faint green gaze, and their sharp claws kept digging the snow pit.

When the portrait approached, they suddenly raised their ears, obviously hearing the movement, and immediately looked in the direction where the portrait was.

After they discovered the portrait, they became a little excited, but did not rush forward immediately, but just put away their bodies and began to be alert.

"Don't they... dare to come in?"

The portrait frowned and began to guess.

The ferocious hungry wolf would rather eat dead bodies than enter the village to attack living people. What secrets are hidden in this village?

"Mu Yang, it's so late, why don't you go back to sleep?"

At this moment, a sound came from the portrait's ear, which shocked him.

When he turned his head and saw clearly the other person's appearance, he realized that behind him was the old village chief holding a flashlight in his hand.

He smiled gently and his eyes narrowed into a slit.

"Oh, Hello, village chief, haha, the sound of family members snoring is too loud, so I can't sleep a little, so I came out to relax."

The portrait scratched her head and explained with a smile.

"That's the case, then you have to be careful. Don't leave the village and be taken away by these beasts."

The village chief kindly reminded him and pointed at the group of wolves gathered at the entrance of the village.

"Thank you for your reminder. If you know, I'll go back now."

The portrait nodded at him, said hello, and turned around to return home.

The village chief, who had a smile on his face, stood quietly, watching the other party leave silently.

When the portrait disappeared from the village chief's sight, he suddenly turned to look at the pack of wolves.

Somehow, the pack of wolves immediately curled up and whispered in their mouths.

"As soon as someone appears at the entrance of the village, I will remind me immediately."

The village chief said to himself as if he was talking in the air.

After saying this, he turned around and left, and the village chief came to the ancestral temple.

“There are still 8 left.”

The village chief looked at the dark air mass gathered in the sky and murmured to himself.

After a while, whenever someone appears at the entrance of the village, the wolves will howl and remind you.

Zhao Tiezhu is an honest local villager. He accidentally drank too much wine tonight and got up in the middle of the night to pee under the big locust tree at the entrance of the village.

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard the sound of wolf howlings at the entrance of the village. He looked there with a little curiosity in his heart.

When I saw a faint green eyeball, I felt a little scared and frightened, and quickly turned around and prepared to leave.

"Don't you go to bed so late?"

A familiar voice suddenly came from his ears, and only a "bang" sound was heard, as if something was hit.

A black shadow dragged Zhao Tiezhu in a coma to the Zusi ancestral hall. The village chief looked at three dark air balls floating in the sky, and a strange smile appeared on his face.

Suddenly, one of the dark air masses slowly landed and fell on Zhao Tiezhu's body.

At the recruitment ground, the air mass passed directly through his body. Zhao Tiezhu began to tremble all over and his body temperature began to drop.
