Chapter 992 Typhoon (1)

The "Jie 1" combat plan (not the "Jie 1" in the history of the Leyte Bay) is a comprehensive sea and air decisive plan centered on Ryukyu. As early as after the Marinaya Navy Battle, the Japanese naval staff led by the Kuroshima Turtle were ordered to formulate this decisive plan. But Yamamoto decided to implement the plan at this moment, which made many people frown at the same time. "Great General, it's too early to fight the decisive battle!" Tsukahara Nishiso, who became famous in the Battle of Wake Island, stood up and said first: "When the Soviet allies have begun to counterattack and the European situation is also turning to us, Huyi believes that he should continue to defend the dead. Even like the German navy in the last European war, when a fleet exists, it can contain most of the Chinese navy's strength..."

His words represent the voice of many officers. He spent decades of time, exhausted the last copper coins of the national treasury, betting on the destiny of a hundred years and the youth of a generation of naval personnel, and the world's third strongest navy should never be rashly fought to the death when it was not conducive to his own. Because from his own perspective, the Yamato battleship, which is the "decisive weapon", is still alone, while the Musashi battleship was damaged in the rainbow bombing not long ago, resulting in the delay in the outfit progress. The external situation is not suitable. The battle for the Iberian Peninsula has begun, and the invincible German army is attacking the peninsula.

If Gibraltar can be captured in one fell swoop, it can force Turkey to open the strait, release the Soviet fleet in the Black Sea, sweep the Mediterranean and cut off the Suez Canal, then, the axis will be settled in the world. In the direction of Central Asia, the Soviet army has also begun wave after wave of counterattacks. Although it is not daring to say that it will be recaptured, it will at least make China in a dilemma. So they believe that the situation in Europe should be clear by August at the latest. So as long as it can be delayed for a few more months, and when the German army seizes Gibraltar, even if Yang Qiu is arrogant, he must draw the southeastern troops to reinforce the Persian Gulf and India.

Yamaguchi Tatsume also bounced off his seat, looking anxious: "General, General Tsukahara's words make sense. We should take the initiative to take a step back and let the army consume the power of China in North Korea and Okinawa. Huyi believes that as long as we don't fight for a day, the main force of the Chinese Navy will not be able to leave the East China Sea and maintain at least three million troops on land! In this way, they will not be able to fight in Malacca, nor will they fight in Myanmar and the Philippines. On the contrary, if the decisive battle is too early, if there is a problem, it will be equivalent to helping China release millions of troops, and their main force of the navy will also turn around and go south to attack Malacca and Singapore."

The joint opposition of the two aviation officers made the conference room more solemn.

But Yamamoto was unmoved and sat on a chair like a stone Buddha. Seeing that he didn't say anything, Tsukahara thought he had listened and was about to continue persuasion, the Kuroshima Turtle next to him rushed out: "General Tsukahara, why are you just considering delaying China? Have you forgotten that the empire's oil inventory is insufficient!" The bombing of the Tokuyama oil depot put Japan in the biggest crisis. Although there are more than one million tons of oil reserves, this amount of oil is basically the long-term operation of the combined fleet. Moreover, there are still 3,000 fighters to maintain. Originally, Yamamoto hoped that as long as Kimura broke through, he could personally lead the main force to reopen Wake Island and the Marshall Islands and open up the long routes between Rabaul and the Coral Sea. But the failure of the Nanomea sea battle meant that this idea was shattered.

In this way, the remaining oil inventories can only last for another three months at most.

There are still some aluminum reserves in the local area. The aircraft factory can also be hidden in the mountains, but oil cannot be transformed. Without oil, even if there are many aircraft and warships built, can we fight without training?

Tsukahara insisted on taking action too early. If the decisive battle was fought, we could obtain oil? After all, there were only three ways to obtain oil, restore Sakhalin oil production, occupy Saltu (Daqing), and open up the blockade of Taiwan, Guam and Wake Island. But these are difficult to do, because China is different from the United States! The Navy Battle of Wake Island can destroy the power of the US Navy's Pacific Ocean in one fell swoop, break the attack, and make the United States stretched out because the United States has just joined the war, and most of the ships are in the early stages of construction. However, China has already raised its country

The mobilization has been in the past two years, and most of the naval projects were proposed in 1936 and 1938, so their naval power recovery speed is amazing. As far as the information is concerned, there are at least three Shandong-class battleships, four Liaoning-class aircraft carriers, six escort aircraft carriers, six Xi'an-class heavy patrols, ten Yarlung-class light patrols and dozens of destroyer submarines to be delivered. What's more, there is still a fleet that does nothing in the Indian Ocean. Therefore, even if there is another battle in the Wake Island, there is no oil supply.

If that's the case, why bother to fight so early?

"Tsukahara Jun." Seeing that everyone was about to be persuaded by him and whispered, Yamamoto spoke. He raised his eyes slightly and said in a deep voice: "What you said makes sense, but you forgot the responsibility of our navy!"

Responsibility? Tsukahara looked at Yamamoto and understood. If Kimura could bring back 90,000 tons of oil, the navy would have an excuse to delay. Now... if we watched the Chinese Navy board Okinawa without fighting, the Emperor and the Cabinet would probably not have wanted a joint fleet that dared not fight. "Oh, it's too early!" Tsukahara sighed in his heart. After looking at Yamamoto, he had to sit back slowly. Seeing this, Yamamoto waved his right hand: "Kuroshima, let me tell you about the plan."

"Hi!"

The "Immortal Staff" Heidao Turtle Man walked to the chart and began to introduce the "Jie No. 1 Plan". The officers took two steps closer, but now no one disliked the odor on his body, because if this battle fails, I can't smell it.

The plan is not complicated, the core is to find an opportunity to use the complex hydrology of the Okinawa Island Chain to fight the Chinese Navy. There are two goals for the decisive battle, namely the "21st aircraft carrier battle group" of the Chinese Navy, which poses the greatest threat to Okinawa and the local area, and the newly formed "12th aircraft carrier battle group". The plan requires that at least one of them must be eaten.

After comparing the strength of the two battle groups, the staff members such as the Black Island Turtle Man chose the "12th aircraft carrier battle group". Because the "21st aircraft carrier battle group" has never been on the front line since Guam, the three aircraft carriers in the fleet are all new Liaoning-class aircraft carriers, with a large number of aircraft carriers and strong combat power. There are four aircraft carriers and four fast battleships of the "23rd aircraft carrier battle group" that can support it, and there is little chance of victory. On the contrary, the "12th aircraft carrier battle group" has only one newly repaired Sichuan-class and two Beihai-class aircraft carriers, which are much inferior in terms of experience and number of aircraft carriers. But this does not mean that the "12th aircraft carrier battle group" is easy to deal with. After all, in addition to three fleet aircraft carriers, they also have four escort aircraft carriers and five battleships, one of which is the newest battleship of the Shandong.

However, it is precisely because of the Shandong battleship. The Kuroshima Turtle also suggested to attack the "12th aircraft carrier battle group". Because in his opinion, if the Shandong can be sunk, it can severely damage the confidence of the Chinese Navy and clear obstacles for the attacks of Yamato and Musashi in October. Therefore, the Jie-1 plan is mainly to target the "12th aircraft carrier battle group" and seduce it out and eliminate it.

The goal has been determined, but the implementation is very complicated, because the combat goals of the Chinese Navy's "12th aircraft carrier battle group" are the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea, taking into account the Northeast Pacific Ocean. However, the joint fleet is now unable to enter the waters east of the Okinawa Island Chain, because once you enter, you have to face the overwhelming Chinese bombers and naval patrol aircraft. Therefore, how to lure away the "21st aircraft carrier battle group" that poses the most threatening "12th aircraft carrier battle group" and attracts the "12th aircraft carrier battle group" to be released is the most critical step.

According to the imagination of the Kuroshima Turtle, this mission will be handed over to the Fourth Fleet stationed in the Philippines. The Fourth Fleet cooperates with the light escort aircraft carriers in the main fleet, pretending to attack Fujian and Taiwan from the Bashi Channel, forcing the "21st Aircraft Carrier Battle Group" to reinforce the direction, and then adopts a night attack tactic of fighting and running, attacking from the Philippine Sea across the Okinawa Island Chain, repeatedly raiding the Chinese Navy landing forces in the East China Sea. Force the "12th Aircraft Carrier Battle Group" to come out to fight to the decisive battle. When it came out, it used the counterattack point of the north and south Dadong Islands to dispatch all the land aviation and naval and air forces near Okinawa to completely annihilate it.

There is another key to achieving this goal. The army must drag the opponent's landing troops as much as possible, and drag the four escort aircraft carriers of the "12th aircraft carrier battle group" to the island chain and cannot leave. Otherwise, if all seven aircraft carriers come out, they will be dangerously themselves.

At the end of the meeting, Yamamoto Iroku also rejected the suggestion of using the Yamato battleship. In his opinion, as long as the Yamato and Musashi are still there, the Japanese Navy will still have hope of a counterattack. As for the Kirishima battleship, it was injured in the Battle of Wake Island and was damaged again in the rainbow bombing, so it was dragged to Hachijo Island for maintenance and cannot fight for the time being.

After the plan was determined, the joint fleet was regrouped.

The commander-in-chief is still Iroku Yamamoto and Chief of Staff Chan Ugaki.

The First Battleship Team, Nagamon, Muro, and Commander Izuru Yamamoto.

The Second Battleship Team, the King Kong, Hiei, and Commander Nobutake Kondo.

The First Air Force, Shochi, Aolong and Feilong aircraft carriers, commander Tsukahara Nizuki.

The Second Air Force, Flying Eagle, Falcon and Dragon Phoenix aircraft carriers, commander Tadaichi Natsumoto.

The first patrol team, the Miaogao, the Nazhi, the Atsuki, the Hachiha, and the Commander Abe Hiroyi.

The second tour team, Kaohsiung, Atago, Maya, Torihiro, Commander Takasu Shiro.

The third patrol team, Ligan, Shukima, Oi and Nikko, commander Keno Kurita.

The two light patrol teams are the first team (Abukuma, Isuzu, name, and Kyofu), and the second team (Agano, Yasuka, Neng, and Jigou). There are also six destroyer teams, two torpedo teams, and finally the fourth fleet of Inoue Naimi's 4th fleet and the Okinawa garrison fleet commanded by Toyota.

This arrangement of troops puzzled many people because Yamamoto actually handed over the Second Air Team to Nagamoto, who had no experience in aviation command before, rather than experienced aviation factions such as Ozawa Jisaburo or Yamaguchi Tatsume.

When Yamamoto Irojuku was busy dispatching troops, the Sino-Japanese War finally came to a critical moment.

At 8:00 a.m. on April 16, 1941, the sound of cannons outside the Nanomea Atoll had just dissipated, and rumbling explosions came 30 nautical miles north of Kume Island. Two Xin'an Jiang-class fast-brush light cruisers led six destroyers to throw deep-water bombs into the sea in a circular anti-submarine formation. The dense water columns and high-frequency sound waves emitted by the ship's shell sonar were shocked and the fish kept jumping out of the water. In the fleet

Overhead, two "harpoon" naval anti-submarine patrol aircraft also circled back and forth to overlook the sea. This anti-submarine patrol aircraft, modified based on the Y-5 model, is a new aircraft recently put into service. The belly bomb bay can carry two 550mm jigo aviation torpedoes, or eight 150 kilogram deep-water bombs/cluster bombs, and can also carry 10 130 mm ground/sea rockets under the wings to perform 800 kilometers of anti-submarine cruise missions.

Amid the whistling sound, two Xin'an Jiang-class Blu-Bao cruisers fired a dense series of hedgehog bombs into the sonar positioning. The hedgehog bomb is a new anti-submarine weapon, named for a large-scale attack in a short period of time. Shortly after the ammunition entered the water, the entire sea area seemed to jump up, and dozens of water columns rushed up at the same time. Finally, a large ball of oil stains floated to the surface. A few moments later, many corpses floated up.

Shortly after the Japanese submarine was sunk, a "iron wall" appeared on the horizon. At the same time, hundreds of air force bombers rushed towards the distant Ryukyu Island under the protection of fighter jets. Then the carrier-based bombers also roared down from a high altitude and dropped bombs one after another at Kume Island.

When carrier-based aircraft bombed the island in turn, a huge warship in the center of the "Iron Wall of the Wire" slowly began to rotate the hull. On its bridge signal platform, the sailors waved two signal flags alternately with elegant and graceful movements to guide the four Beijing-class battleships behind them to turn simultaneously.

It is currently the battleship with the largest tonnage in the world and the strongest unit firepower throwing ability, the Shandong.

The Shandong-class battleships have built a total of four (Shandong, Shanxi, Fujian, Yunnan). It is Yang Qiu's drawings, and the comprehensive embodiment of China's 30-year industrial road. Compared with the Montana-class battleships used as templates, it was introduced from the United States during the European War and digested by itself. It also combined with the power group of the French ovarian-class destroyers introduced by the economic crisis. The developed 8 Jiangnan-produced double-drum fast-burning boilers were installed, and four-axis and four-aper propulsion were installed, with a maximum output of 173,000 horsepower. In terms of ship type, it did not completely imitate Montana, but combined with the achievements of the National Fluid Laboratory led by Zhou Peiyuan, using the wave-passing bow, a large square stern, a flat deck, an outer floating bow, etc. to optimize the underwater ship type. Use a keel to strengthen stability. If you really want to say that the battleship type is like the battleship type in history, it should be closer to the avant-class battleship.

The maximum designed speed is 28 knots, but during the sea test, the Shandong runs a maximum speed of 29.3 knots with light load. In the recent sea test, the Shanxi set a record of 30 hours of continuous navigation with 25 knots. This shows that the domestic power pack is close to the world's highest level in terms of power and stability. In terms of defense, the Shandong-class is similar to Montana. The military equipment adopts a front-and-back back-loading type, and is equipped with 4 triple l50/406 mm naval guns, and 10 double l56/120 mm high-level

Dual-purpose semi-automatic guns, 10 dual-connected 85mm deck anti-aircraft guns, 16-seat quadruple 40mm and 36-seat single 25mm anti-aircraft guns. In terms of fire control, in addition to sea and air-to-air radars, there are two radio fire control radars, front and rear optical rangefinders and independent turret rangefinders, etc. Compared with the similar Montana class, electronic and air defense capabilities are stronger, especially the dual 85mm anti-aircraft guns installed on the deck, which use the Otto electric gun mount purchased from Italy before the war, and is first-class in both firepower and reaction speed.

Shandong-class battleships also have unsatisfactory aspects. First, after combining French technology, the fuel consumption rate of the main engine remained high, which reduced the battery life index from the designed 15 knots/13,000 knots to 15 knots/11,500 knots, and only 5,500 knots at 23 knots. Second, the main gun was not as good as the American MK7 naval gun of the original drawings, and the designer had to continue to adopt the French and Italian ideas. Although the requirements were finally met, the life of the medicine chamber and the gun barrel was sacrificed. Fortunately, the battleships were in battle and there was no case when the artillery fired more than a hundred rounds. As for the high-explosive bombs with low chamber pressure, the designer installed soft bullet rings to reduce wear.

No matter what flaws are there, the Shandong-level still remains a representative work of China's industry. It does not boost the people's enthusiasm. In the entire design and construction process alone, more than 1,000 technologies from various countries were introduced and digested, as many as 2,000 domestic enterprises and laboratories participated, more than 30,000 technical problems were solved, and special precision bearings, super-large crankshafts, super-large large inclination propellers were established, and other industries that were originally restricted by various countries on China. These alone were worth a few.

Of course, Brigadier General Zhang Xiaoyu (a guest starring in the book friend Us Ma Japanese Corps) would not care about this. He regretted that because the Sino-Japanese War was earlier than expected, it would take until next month that the Shandong would have "partners". The last two ships would probably face the embarrassment of uselessness until the beginning of next year. In fact, the navy wanted to stop construction as early as after the Mariana Navy, but because the latter two ships had already been launched into the water and put out the installation, the completion progress was more than 80%. If they were abandoned, they would suffer a lot of losses, so they decided to complete it.

"Sir, the shelling formation has been enrolled..."

"Report, the observation aircraft has taken off..."

"The bomber is evacuating."

"The pilot formation enters the battle position. Commander Zhang's telegram, the Air Force will help us clear the airspace before sunset, and it can start at any time."

Inside the nautical bridge, a former Beijing battleship captain was particularly neat today. He wore a gold-edged hat, a bridle general's seal, a neatly ironed black general's coat, a white glove in one hand, and a railing with the other hand, looking at the small island with a raised ridge at the end of the waterline. "Is there any news about the Japanese main fleet?"

"I appeared near the volcanic island two days ago, but now I don't know where to go." The Chief of Staff who was transferred from Beijing with him was very clear about his thoughts and smiled: "Sir, I bet that the probability of your encounter with the Yamato is less than 5%..."

"I bet, there will definitely be a chance to meet it." Zhang Xiaoyu was stunned and then laughed. After laughing, he threw his gloves on the operating table: "Start!"

As the gunman picked up the phone, the largest joint sea and air landing war in human history was about to break out.
