1338 The iron dice turn up 2

The tactical theory of the depth was found before the Second World War. For example, before the Battle of Kursk, it was true that the Soviet Union had an excellent counterattack like Stalingrad, but there were also bad results such as Kharkov's counterattack and Operation Mars. Especially Operation Mars, which was called the biggest failure of Marshal Zhukov's life... It is true that you can say that the Soviet Union's strategy and tactics were not mature at that time, but the prince believed that the most important thing was that the advantage was not great enough... For example, in the Battle of Baglation, which was more famous in later generations, look at the pitiful forces of Germany on the balcony of Ukraine and the forces mobilized by the Soviet Union. Germany would definitely not be able to stop it, it just depends on how many it could run.

By the time of the ten Stalin assaults, the Third Reich had already declined, and the overall power used on the Eastern Front was very small. Facing the Soviet Union, which had blood and blue and had foreign aid, losing was already the general trend. (Note, don't look at how many tanks there were on the east and west line. People who think that the focus of German military industry was on tanks and armored vehicles. Germany's industrial investment was two the most, one was ammunition and the other was aircraft. The latter accounted for 38% of the total military industry output value at the highest! How many tanks are there? It seems that no more than 10% at most!)

What about the Bavarian Legion of this plane? At the beginning of the war, the tactics used by the prince were more inclined to blitzkrieg, because after all, it was just transferred from peace to war. The size and equipment of the legion had not been improved, and the Russians did not know how to deploy deep defenses. Therefore, when the technical equipment was relatively limited, it was obviously more correct to use blitzkrieg-like practices, and then try their best in an attack, and then divide and surround them. (Of course, due to the limitations of technical and material conditions, it is not realistic to think that you can break through XXX kilometers within a week!)

And now? After a year of "warm-up training", the size of the Bavarian Legion has risen sharply, and the technical equipment level and logistics supply capacity have also been greatly improved. (Although the Bavarian Legion participated in the battle, there are only 550,000, but there are still a considerable number of reserves, and most of the air forces participating in the attack are also belonging to the Kingdom of Bavaria.) In this case, the prince believed that in the Russian Polish region, the German army on the Eastern Front had the ability to fight a large-scale deep offensive and completely suppress the opponent's defense line. After opening the gap, the armored troops drove straight in, turning tactical victory into a battle victory! The 4 Bavarian armored divisions, 8 fast assault divisions, and 4 Bohemian divisions under Prince Leopold. In addition to the 8 flying wings above, a total of thousands of steel torrents composed of various aircraft was the confidence of the prince to launch this battle!

This time, in order to save armored forces so as to divide and surround the opponent better and faster, during the first wave of breakthroughs, the purebred armored division will not participate in the attack for the time being. The breakthrough mission is mainly undertaken by infantry and equipped hornet assault guns and self-propelled artillery. This decision was made because the strength of the Russian defense line was not the same as that of Britain and France on the Western Front.

On the Western Front, to break through the defense line between Britain and France, you need a large number of armored units to rush to the opponent's bunker group and trench nets. You need to block bullets and provide fire cover for infantry. What about the Eastern Front? According to the general reflection of front-line troops, relying on infantry and mobile artillery can tear apart the first few defense lines of Russia. Using armored troops is a waste of precious motorcycle marching time! Therefore, the task of tearing the gap this time was mainly handed over to the fast division, and the elite infantry cooperated with the self-directed aiming artillery to tear the defense line.

In order to reduce logistical pressure and increase the attack speed, the troops that launched the attack in depth this time will not carry too many heavy artillery. In terms of proportion, it will even be lower than the previous battles. On the one hand, this is because the density of Russian artillery has decreased, and on the other hand, the suppression of long-range firepower has been transferred from the army's long-range artillery to the air force.

It is difficult to move heavy artillery, especially in very rough places on the road. Think about it, a barrel weighs 5 tons. Is the K-16 cannon with a total gun weighing nearly 11 tons so easy to move? In addition to ammunition trucks, gun sets, etc., even if you are towing or even self-propelled artillery, it is very troublesome to move long distances in the mud of the Russians. Therefore, in order to ensure that this offensive can be faster and cut deeper, Prince Leopold strictly limited the number of cannons at the level of 150MM cannons or above.

In order to make up for the firepower loss in this regard, among the air force units assigned to Prince Leopold, the number of pure blood bombers reached 70%! The total number of bombers of various types is as large as 780! Among them, 480 are the latest K-6 bombers! This is almost the most powerful air-heavy strike force of the Bavarian Legion and the Austro-Hungarian Legion on the Eastern Front!

Is this power enough? Obviously it is enough. In terms of output alone, the amount of bombs dropped by the aircraft is not as good as that of artillery, but the actual effect is completely different. For example, if 6 tons of ammunition is required to deal with a target 100 kilometers away, assuming that the attack efficiency of artillery and aircraft is the same, for the bomber troops, four K-6 bombers flew directly over and one wave of attack will be solved. However, the artillery needs to advance 80 kilometers in 4 days, and then shoot out the 6 tons of artillery shells... The point is that the time for artillery to propel is much longer than that of the aircraft!

Did you see the problem? As for the accuracy issue? Please, you are fighting an artillery position, which is a target, and Russia's air defense is very poor. You can drop to a height of 100 meters and use a machine gun to sweep the ground while throwing bombs! 100 meters high. The speed does not exceed that of cars on the highway in later generations, and then there are primary sights and powerful bombs, requiring you to suppress the artillery position, with artillery, vehicles, personnel and even ammunition under it. This accuracy will not be low, right?

Moreover, from the current situation, the Air Force can not only guarantee to provide follow-up fire support, but also complete strategic bombing, because the depth of the Russian army is not very large. This is not to say that the Russians do not want to expand the depth, but because your transportation tools are not realistic except for railways and carriages. Even if you want to make a big depth, it is not realistic! Even if the army group is 300 kilometers away from the railway line, it is quite difficult! Imagine that hundreds of thousands of troops have to travel 200 kilometers to send weapons and supplies to the supply points of the army and division, and then use horses to distribute them to the regiments and battalions below. You can imagine how large a transport force this requires! These horses themselves are large-scale consumers!
