Chapter 372: The Shadow Behind

In early 1938, the short-lived "Wuhan Capital" era of the Party and government began.

During the Spring Festival this year, Wuhan was full of soldiers. In northern Jiangsu, three thousand miles away, the Taierzhuang Battle was underway. The smoke of gunpowder seemed to penetrate the vast desert of fields and drifted all the way to Wuhan. Countless gatherings, oaths, fundraising, and mobilizing the army with young people constituted this special Spring Festival.

Before and after this, the Wuhan Military Commission formed a political department representing a wide range of anti-Japanese forces, responsible for national mobilization. Chen Cheng and Ji Shaoshan were appointed as chief ministers and deputy ministers, with three departments under them.

The director of the First Department was He Zhonghan, who had just been recalled from Europe and re-launched. He was mainly responsible for military mobilization, but He Zhonghan's term of office was extremely short.

The director of the second department is Kang Ze, who is responsible for the mobilization of the people and society. The director of the third department Guo Moruo, who is responsible for the mobilization of the cultural and artistic circles.

The office address of the second hall is in the front yard of a house in Hushangyuan, Wuchang, and the back yard is the remaining Blue-Clothing Society office space waiting to be buried.

At this time, the Blue Clothes Club has two last tasks, one is to prepare for the National Congress. This is its first and last All-Personal Congress. Its mission is to convert members over 25 years old to the party or to the Dai Li organization. Members under 25 years old will be transferred to the Three Youth League.

Another task is to use the last one, recruiting 2,000 to 5,000 young people in 10 provinces and cities, and be responsible for training these tens of thousands of people to enrich the grassroots and local administration of the army. This is the prototype of the later "100,000 Youth and 100,000 Army" movement.

In order to prepare for the General Congress, the Blue-Clothing Society held a series of meetings of the Office. Most of the meetings were held at the residence of Gan Guoxun on Jianguo Road, Wuchang.

What is ridiculous is that until this time, the board of directors who was about to die was still in chaos and did not even avoid outsiders. The last meeting was held at the official residence of Jiang Ruiyuan, the newly appointed president of the Kuomintang in Hankou. Chen Cheng, who had been appointed as the secretary-general of the Third Youth League, attended the meeting with Chen Lifu of the Party Headquarters.

But at the same time, this is also the most quarrel.

Kang Ze served as the chairman of the meeting, but he could not control the meeting at all. As soon as he sat down, Feng Ti made a fuss. He pointed his finger at Liu Jianqun, and in front of Chen Lifu, accused Liu Jianqun of being stingy.

In the entire conference room, Feng Ti's roar was heard to sell the organization to the Party Committee."

As soon as this sentence was released, he had a deep grudge with Chen Lifu in the midst of the fire. Ren Juewu, who had just survived from prison, did not change his nature of good things and took the lead in applause. There was a lot of applause at the venue. Liu Jianqun and Chen Lifu were extremely embarrassed.

Later, Dai Li also took the blame for the injustice. He accused Liu Jianqun of sowing discord among them, Huangpu students. Therefore, the responsibility for organizational dissolution should be borne by Liu Jianqun. Finally, he scolded Liu Jianqun for no one who believed in your tricks. You are finished, and you will be a monk."

Did Dai Li expect that his words would be an extremely accurate prediction of Liu Jianqun's fate in the next few years? The meeting ended in such a mess.

It was also in this smoky atmosphere that on May 16, 1938, the Blue-Yi Society's General Congress opened at the former site of the "Two Lake Academy".

The General Assembly lasted for three days, and more than 500 representatives attended the meeting. He Zhonghan, Kang Ze, and Liu Jianqun served as the chairman of the conference for the three days respectively. Chiang Kai-shek, who succeeded and failed, sent a congratulatory message to officially penetrate the Blue Clothing Society and dug the first shovel of soil.

The congratulatory message was read out at the conference, saying that the Lixing Society, which is not in the party, can join the party freely, and the Fuxing Society can join the Three Youth League freely. However, among the about 500,000 members of the Blue-Clothing Society, very few have transferred to the party. Even Dai Li was too lazy to go through a procedure to join the party.

About 100,000 people either stayed in the occupied areas or had already lost contact with the Blue-Clothing Society. On the issue of transferring the group, Deng Wenyi and Kang Ze had the last dispute in the history of the Blue-Clothing Society.

Deng Wenyi advocated group transfers, while Kang Ze, who was well versed in organizational samadhi, insisted that individuals join the group and review them closely. However, most of the leaders present regarded this meeting as a formality and they did not discuss it carefully.

Therefore, with their persuasion, the dispute was quickly calmed down. The "group transfer issue" finally adopted a compromise method, that is, individual personnel were identified, but the local branch of the original Blue Yi Society was not broken up. The local organizations of the Fuxing Society were directly converted into local organizations of the Three Youth Leagues.

In this way, most of the more than 300,000 members of the Fuxing Society were transferred to the Third Youth League. This force occupied about three-quarters of the Third Youth League in preparation, and it was also the power basis for Hu Zongnan to always serve as the most critical organization director of the Third Youth League. Kang Ze always acted as the power base for this position for the next seven years.

However, the biggest winner was still Dai Li. According to Chiang Kai-shek's request, in Wuhan, a new secret service agency, the Investigation and Statistics Bureau of the Military Commission, was established, and the Blue-Yi Society Secret Service became the main body of the bureau. The first director of this agency was an old soldier named He Yaozu, and Dai Li was appointed as the deputy director.

But almost from the first day of the establishment of the Military Intelligence Bureau, everyone who has heard of it still calls it the "Dai Li Organization".

After being transferred to the Military Control Bureau, this powerful colonel finally advanced to the next level and became a major general. Until Dai Li died in a crash, his military rank was only a major general. But at that time, he had become the de facto second person in the Nanjing regime except Jiang Ruiyuan, and the shadow behind the throne at the peak of power.

At this meeting, Dai Li also achieved his own merger investigation class. After the "Great Leap Forward" of the Secret Service, the third major expansion of the organization was carried out. The remaining 10,000 people in the Blue Clothes Club were completely accepted by his organization.

Among them, 30,000 to 40,000 of them became various kinds of spies, and the other 50,000 members of the "Loyal and Righteous National Rescue Association" will form a "Loyal and Righteous National Rescue" under the leadership of Dai Li. In other words, as long as the meeting ends, the internal and external members of Dai Li's organization will reach 130,000.

On May 18, 1938, the gate of Wuchang Dajiang Middle School, which was strictly guarded by the military police and closed for three days, finally opened. More than 500 representatives walked out of the venue, some people chatted while walking, some people had lost expressions on their faces, and more people couldn't tell whether it was joy or sorrow, relaxed or heavy.

The first person to step out of the gate of Dajiang Middle School was Kang Ze, the seventh member of the Blue-Yi Society, the last secretary. The moment he stepped out of the venue, the evening sunset shone on his face, making him squint his eyes. At this moment, the 35-year-old leader suddenly felt a little confused.

In fact, with the end of this conference, the Blue Clothing Society ended. As a result, this utilitarian and pragmatic person throughout his life also ended his original remnant youthful aura. From then on, he was just a pure, thorough bureaucrat, sucking power and frustration, glory and despair in this big feast of the Republic of China that exuded the smell of rottenness.

This end was a landmark turning point in Kang Ze's life. It was this end that made him grin and protect the power of the acting director of the Three Youth League for seven years like a female wolf protecting his nest.

In the past seven years, he has greatly expanded the Three Youth League from 400,000 to 1.5 million, becoming an organization far beyond the party's discipline, action and ability.

But because of this end, Jiang Ruiyuan, who gradually realized his temperament, always faced him with a mentality of "his talent is available, but his quality is not trustworthy". He was so stingy that he was the official appointment of the director of the organization. This official position was in the hands of Hu Zongnan, who had not been involved in the affairs of the Third Youth League for a day.

Kang Ze organized the Three Youth League in the model of a ranger, but the traces were so profound that many years later, both at home and abroad agreed that the Three Youth League was a "quasi-spy organization."

It was also this complex. This temperament made Kang Ze stop Jiang Jingguo from infiltration and manipulate the Three Qingtuans seven years later with a vicious and ignorant attitude.

After Kang Ze, those who walked out of the door were Deng Wenyi, the sixth secretary-general of the Blue-Clothing Society, Liu Jianqun, the fifth and third secretary-generals, and Changfeng Ti, the fourth secretary-general.

Deng Wenyi quickly walked out of the door. If Kang Ze joined the Blue-Yi Society because of "gain and loss", he was just at a loss when the organization disintegrated, then looking back at the more than six years of storm at the Blue-Yi Society, what Deng Wenyi felt must be a sense of emptiness.

This 33-year-old young man, at his 20s, was once a "senior minister" that made countless people envious and jealous. He was also one of the main sponsors of the Blue-Clothing Society after the expansion of his relationship, but this once-in-common secret organization made many young people whose status was far inferior to him began to rise and make a fortune.

He was the only one, but after the anti-corruption campaign in Wuhan, he became worse and worse. First, a "airport fire" caused him to lose one of the largest spy organizations, and then, his blind moves in the Xi'an Incident made him an insignificant idle person.

There is no way for many people living in the mundane world, too many things can no longer be lost.

So, what would he think of when this organization that has caused him so many frustrations and troubles has finally disintegrated?

Should I chew on the impermanence of the officialdom and wait and make a comeback? Or should I be pessimistic and lonely, thinking that with the demise of this group, he has lost all his money and the casino has closed, feeling that he will never have a chance to make a comeback?

It was also Wuhan in the evening, but things changed.

If Kang Ze saw the lonely setting sun, then what Deng Wenyi could feel must be the extremely chilly cold wind in the world surrounded by the sunset. He was walking in a gray official alley that could not be seen. In the years since then, although he had risen and rise, his status was still unpredictable.

He would never have the chance to participate in the important history that made any ambitious person fascinated by it.

In his later years, perhaps when his temples were already gray, Yang Yongtai talked about the "Nanchang Airport Fire" that led to the turning point in his life. When he really arrived, would he feel amused or crying, or would he look at the personnel and affairs of that year from the perspective of an old man who had experienced vicissitudes?

In this world, there is a river of time that can change the world and dilute the barriers and hostility.

Following Deng Wenyi, Liu Jianqun also walked out of the door. The only leader of this Blue-Clothing Club is not the leader of Huangpu. At this time, his heart must be filled with indescribable anger and injustice. Since joining the Blue-Clothing Club, he has been humiliated everywhere and has encountered walls everywhere. Even when he was the Secretary-General twice.

How he was nostalgic for the time of the "bull dynasty group" and the pleasant days in North China.

The same sunset, wind and street market set off the crowds that kept walking out of the gate. Everyone was in groups of three or three, but he was the only one, as if isolated from an invisible high wall. For more than 6 years, he had been marching alone in the history of the Blue-Clothing Society. But at this time, did he realize that a crisis related to his life had already come to him?

Just like the booklet "The Protest" that was distributed five years ago, which ruined his reputation in Nanjing, the one who created this crisis was still his wife Hu Huilan.

During the three days of the congress, Hu Huilan was sneaking into his room and rolled up a large number of top-secret documents of the Blue Clothing Society, and nowhere was known. A month or two later, many people vaguely heard that the documents had fallen into the hands of the Doihara secret agent.

A month or two later, this "secret leak case" was in trouble. Dai Li, who was determined to kill him, planned to take advantage of the situation and punish him with the death penalty.

After learning that the executioner was on the road, Liu Jianqun fled in a hurry. However, the world is vast, how can he live?

He first stayed at a station in a small county town and stayed for more than a month. During this period, military police, police and spies questioned his identity from time to time. With his alertness, he escaped danger several times.

Then, he went into exile one by one county, one by one town, one by one station. He went further and further, he became more and more desolate. Finally, Liu Jianqun, who was once powerful, simply fled to a small hill in his hometown of Guizhou, and became a monk in a small temple.

From then on, the silent green lamps, morning bells and evening drums were accompanied by a former lieutenant general, a young talent in his 30s, for more than four years. He suffered tremendous physical and mental torture.

The third step to leave the door was Feng Ti. Like Deng Wenyi, he was also an idle person at this time.

But his face was still full of stubborn and perverse expressions. The gloom of the "Stacking Wang Case" has been washed away by almost no trace after more than two years. What's more, he always believed that his contribution to social affairs was unparalleled. Isn't it the threshold for him to lead the Blue-Clothing Society?

His firm belief in the downfall and frustration was only a temporary moment. "Heaven will give great responsibility to this man", and his heart was filled with the passion of kings and princes.

It seems that in front of him, Wuchang, under the setting sun, the wide road is a portrayal of his future life. The war of war on the War of Resistance has begun, and the country is employed, so the little mistake can be calculated? Moreover, he has learned the news that he will be re-appointed and serve as the commander of the Changsha Security Bureau.

Could he predict that? If Liu Jianqun is heading for a down-and-out life, then what he is heading for is the end of his life. His "fool and self-use" personality, coupled with the deep officialdom of the Republic of China, led to his tragic death.

Decades later, many of his colleagues talked about his fate, titled "Fengti's experience". Fengti died of shooting in a shooting six months after the closing of the General Assembly.

In the bustling China, many proud powerful and frustrated politicians are buried among the unknown embers of history. Sighing their talents and ambitions, the waves of the great era are surging, and there will always be some people who will be dispersed and submerged.

Endless sorrow is just a few ink traces in history books, perhaps not even ink traces. Who will remember the names of these heroes and heroes hiding in dark corners?

Finally, the ones who walked out of the door one after another were He Zhonghan, the second secretary of the Blue-Yi Society, and the first secretary, Teng Jie, the founder of the Blue-Yi Society.

He Zhonghan walked out step by step. At this time, the sun was about to set, and the sky of the Republic of China began to show a little dimness.

From a distance, this is a short man, but at the age of 40, his hair is slightly resting. He is not astonishing, but in the twilight, what you can see is his sharp eyes.

This is a pair of eyes full of tears and sadly staring at the Republic of China involved in the creation of the Republic of China, and gradually fell. These eyes are connected with the depravity, which is so unforgettable.

He had heartbroken and heartbroken these depravities and vowed to use his own strength, enthusiasm and life to eradicate this depravity. However, his luck was not good, even his body fell into this depravity deep black hole.

He Zhonghan is hiding a history of Huangpu and the Republic of China, "its rise and fall, and its fall is sudden." His body is filled with various symbols of the Republic of China and youth. In fact, he is a living fossil of that era.

In this way, many historical mysteries, the laws of heaven and earth and humanity, are lurking in his life. No matter whether he loves, hates, closes or hostility, countless latecomers can gain scrutiny, references and reflections in such a life.

That night, Xiao Zuolin, who was idle, scolded Jiang Ruiyuan for being "unlucky" after drinking. He Zhong smiled coldly and immediately expressed his opinions.

"Where are you? Jiang Feng will have it, and if you are dumb, you will not be like this. Have you not seen his superior control skills? What he has always grasped is the three life roots of the army, spies, and finance. Each of his three life roots has a set of his life roots, his closest people guarding him."

"In the military, Chen Cheng, Tang Enbo and Hu Zongnan, Dai Li, Xu Enzeng and Mao Qingxiang, and in the financial aspects, Kong Xiangxi, Song Ziwen and Chen. It can be said that they are all his close confidants, but he still has a guard against these people but is not prepared, and is not prepared. Can this be considered stupid?"

A conversation made Xiao Zuolin sigh. Then, He Zhonghan's resentment changed to his fate, as well as the collapse and disintegration of the Blue-Clothing Society that he had been obsessed with.

"He is absolutely worried about our Hunanese people, especially those who know a little politics. He only makes use of organizations like Fuxing Society for a while. When he has been praised as an absolute leader, of course he will no longer want this organization. Because he is afraid that the Fuxing Society will develop to a point that it is difficult to control, especially the senior backbone of this organization is mostly Hunanese. If you still call him stupid, you are a little stupid."

This mantra after drinking reflects He Zhonghan's staggering journey for many years. This is the party's officialdom, the new China under Jiang Ruiyuan's rule, and a new empire that still retains the atmosphere of decay and redness.

Behind power, there are always too many shadows. Those who are not glorious have eroded the national destiny of the entire China, directly enchanting the world and destroying the mountains and rivers.
