Chapter IX: Average Qualifications

The blind man's words made two questions emerge in Nanfeng's mind at the same time, but he could only ask one by one, "How did you know I'm going to come back?"

"I was there last night." said the blind man.

Nanfeng nodded. The blind man stayed in the dilapidated temple last night. He knew what everyone said and did. He also knew what happened. He also knew what his temperament was. The blind man guessed that he would definitely come back to find his companions based on what happened and his understanding of him.

"Why are you waiting for me?" Nanfeng asked the second question.

The blind man groped and picked up the teacup and pinched it as if he was thinking.

"Do you want to accept me as your disciple?" Nan Feng guessed.

"Why do you say this?" asked the blind man.

Nanfeng was surprised by the blind man’s question. He didn’t expect the blind man to ask him back, nor did he understand what the blind man meant.

Seeing that he didn't speak, the blind man explained, "Why did you make this guess?"

This time, Nan Feng understood. The blind man asked him what the basis for his guess was, but it was difficult to express it because some things could be thought of in his mind and would change their taste when they said it with his mouth.

He didn't speak, and the blind man didn't urge him, but he held a teacup and waited for him.

Even though he knew that the blind man was waiting for him, Nan Feng had not spoken for a long time. It was not that he didn't know what to say, but he was hesitating whether to say it, and what consequences would be.

Because the blind man couldn't see anything, Nanfeng dared to look directly at him and tried to see the clues through his expression. What he didn't expect was that the long wait did not make the blind man angry, but instead made a smile appear on his face.

Finally, Nanfeng plucked up the courage to tell the truth, "I gave you hot water last night. After you coughed, I got up and set fire to you. You may not have a bad impression of me."

"Is there any?" the blind man asked with a smile.

"Yes." Nan Feng had nothing to worry about when he opened his head. "You can detect the demonic aura more than ten miles away and change my appearance in an instant. This shows that you are a skilled person, but you pretend to be a fortune teller, obviously you don't want others to know your identity, but you showed your ability in front of me, so I guess you want to accept me as your disciple."

The blind man put down his teacup and nodded with relief, "It's rare."

Nanfeng lifted the teapot and helped the blind man fill the teacup, then put down the teapot and waited for the blind man to speak.

The blind man did not speak immediately, but picked up the teacup and slowly twisted it. As he twisted it, the tea in the cup gradually overflowed out of the mouth of the cup, and a beautiful lotus flower condensed from above the teacup. The flower bloomed seven petals, as lively as real.

Just as the south wind stared at him, the lotus that had transformed from tea suddenly turned into a three-inch ice arrow. The blind man moved his right hand slightly, and the ice arrow flew out, pierced through the east wall, and disappeared without a trace.

Nanfeng had known that the blind man was a master, but he didn't expect that he was so powerful that he could not only condense tea into lotus, but also instantly turn water into ice, turning into sharp ice arrows that could penetrate the walls.

The blind man put down his teacup and said calmly, "I do want you to follow me, but I can't accept you as a disciple."

"Then why did you let me follow you?" Nan Feng asked in confusion. Of course, he wanted to learn powerful kung fu, but he had to tell you everything. Kung fu belongs to others, so why should he teach you for nothing?

The blind man sighed, "There is something very important waiting for me to do, but I can't see it and need someone to help me."

"Yes." Nan Feng nodded. It was not difficult to see from the blind man's tone that he had not been blind for a long time and had not fully adapted to the blind man's life.

"Some things should be told in advance. It is not safe for you to follow me, and you may encounter danger." The blind man paused at this point, and then said, "But you will also gain something. Although I cannot accept you as a disciple, I can teach you some skills. Making a living is not difficult, and it is possible to become famous."

"Okay, I'm willing to follow you." Nan Feng solemnly stated that the reason he had never agreed to follow the blind man before was because the two of them were not close or related. He could not get the benefits of others in vain, but he would not help them in vain. Now the blind man has made it clear and cannot accept him as his disciple. To put it bluntly, you will help me with your skills. He can accept this.

The blind man nodded, "There are steamed buns in the bag, you can eat them."

Nan Feng was indeed hungry, so he took out two steamed buns from his blind man's bag and gave one to the blind man, "Old sir, you can eat too."

"I'm not hungry, you can take it for food." The blind man put the steamed bun on the table, "Tell me, what do you want to learn?"

When Nanfeng heard this, he felt energetic, "What do you know?"

"You just need to tell me what you want to learn." Although his tone was calm, he was full of confidence.

"I want to learn to castrate chickens." Nan Feng smiled.

The blind man shook his head helplessly when he heard this. The castration chicken was to castrate a rooster. This was a low-key craft. Nan Feng naturally would not really want to learn it. It was because he was talking too much and was squeezing him.

"What martial arts did you use just now?" Nan Feng asked.

"That is not martial arts, it is Taoism." The blind man replied.

"Are you a Taoist priest?" Nan Feng was a little surprised.

"Once it was." The blind man nodded slowly.

"Can you teach me the Taoist technique you just used?" Nan Feng asked. He didn't see anything else. The blind man's trick just now left a deep impression on him.

"According to your qualifications, even if you practice hard for sixty years, you may not be able to use the water control technique." The blind man shook his head and said.

Nanfeng was already full of hope, and the blind man's words were like a basin of cold water pouring him cold all over, "How do you know that I have bad qualifications?"

"I tried it with spiritual energy last night." The blind man shook his head again, "There are five of you who are very qualified, but it's a pity that you are not among them."

When Nanfeng heard this, he turned worries into joy, "We are sworn brothers, they can do well, and they can help me in the future. By the way, we have seven people, five good ones, and one bad one, who is the one bad one?"

"Qualifications are obtained from the innate. If there are tens of ten, all five will get more than seven points. It is normal for you to get five points. Poor that young man who steals chickens will never get three points." said the blind man.

"You are talking about fat guys." Nan Feng smiled.

The blind man nodded, "You don't need to be too frustrated. As the saying goes, diligence can make up for your shortcomings. Besides, you are smart and careful, and as long as you persevere, you will eventually gain something."

"Okay, I remember." Nan Feng knew that the blind man was comforting him, but he had no idea about talent. He was disappointed because he could not learn the blind man's powerful magic.

"It's getting late, let's take a break soon." The blind man stood up.

Nanfeng immediately got up, walked over and helped the blind man to the kang, helped him lay his bedding, and brought him foot wash water. He did all of this out of sincerity. Not to mention anything else, if it weren't for the blind man, he would probably have been beaten to death by the pharmacy shop staff now, and he would have to serve others well in terms of emotion and reason.

There are kangs in the north, and the kangs in the main room can sleep with several people, sleeping inside in the south wind and blind people sleeping outside.

After the blind man lay down, there was no movement, and Nanfeng couldn't sleep. "Old sir, I must have a name for you in the future."

"You can call me Master." The blind man replied.

"If you don't accept me as your apprentice, I have to call you master. I'm not at a loss?" Nanfeng complained.

"You can also call me a sir." The blind man said again.

"Forget it, it's too difficult to talk." Nan Feng said.

In fact, he still has a lot of questions to ask, such as the real age of a blind man, what kind of cultivation is the blind man, what is the very important thing the blind man wants to do, and what is the complete collection of the Heavenly Book.
