Chapter 302 Eight Immortals Temple
Xi'an City, known as "Chang'an" and "Jingzhao" in "Records of the Grand Historian", is known as "a country with thousands of miles of golden city and a country of heaven". It is the capital with the most capitals and the most influential dynasties in Chinese history.
In the 12th century BC, King Wen of Zhou established Fengjing and Haojing here.
From then on, Xi'an has been the political, economic and cultural center of dynasties for more than 1,200 years. Calculated, 21 dynasties and regimes have been built here, and it is the ancient capital of 13 dynasties. In the heyday of Chinese history, the Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang were built here.
It is precisely because of such a strong cultural background that there are many ancient sites in Xi'an. Perhaps with just a hoe, you can dig out ancient relics from the Zhou, Qin, Han and Sui periods. Many people who are obsessed with profits come to this place without considering the consequences, dreaming of getting rich overnight, and this place has become a paradise for some cultural relics dealers.
However, under the severe crackdown of the government in recent years, many tomb robbers and cultural relics dealers have no longer dared to blatantly sell cultural relics, but have turned to underground transactions.
Song Wen, Xiaojun and two other ***ers who were looking at the shop in the orchid garden walked off the plane and suddenly felt a cool breath coming towards him.
The weather in Nanzhou has been unpredictable recently, sometimes as high as 36 degrees, and sometimes only more than 20 degrees. The temperature difference is so unbearable. The weather in Xi'an is a little colder than Nanzhou, but it is just right.
After getting off the plane, the few people settled in the hotel. Xiaojun took the two girls to say hello to the organizers of the fair and processed the entry and exit documents. He stayed in the hotel without Song Wen's help in applying for the certificate. He wanted to sleep for a while, but couldn't sleep. So he simply got up, left the hotel, and wandered around.
He has never been to Xi'an, but he has long been famous. Not to mention the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang buried in Mount Li or the Terracotta Warriors and Horses next to it, but to just say that the ancient monuments in Xi'an are deafening.
Song Wen didn't know where he was going, so he called a taxi and asked him to take him to the largest Taoist palace in the city.
Now that the city has expanded, cultural relics and monuments have been seriously damaged, and only religious temples or ancient houses have retained some ancient traces. Therefore, when you go to a place, you will never go to a glossy urban shop, but the palaces, temples and ancient houses in that place, because it is often the essence of a city, which embodies the vicissitudes of a city’s history.
Eight Immortals Temple, also known as the Wanshou Eight Immortals Palace, is the largest and most famous Taoist temple in Xi'an.
The Eight Immortals Temple is located outside the East Gate of Xi'an. It was originally used to commemorate the Eight Immortals who showed their magical powers. It was built on the ruins of the Xingqing Palace of the Tang Dynasty. It was not until the Song Dynasty that it became a Taoist temple. There are two large archways made of stone, with lush trees on both sides. The screen wall opposite is engraved with four big characters "Eternal Green" and three mountain gates, each with bells and drums on the left and right. I heard that during the Guangxu period, Empress Dowager Cixi took refuge here on her way west, gave silver to renovate, and awarded the temple title "Edict to build the Eight Immortals Palace of Wanshou", which was named after it.
The site of the Eight Immortal Temple belongs to the Changlefang area of Xingqing Palace in the Tang Dynasty. The stone tablet outside the mountain gate is engraved with "Chang'an wine shop, where Mr. Lu Chunyang met Mr. Zhongli of Han to become a Taoist temple". Therefore, the Eight Immortal Temple is regarded as a Taoist fairyland. The Eight Immortal Temple is built on Changlefang Street, with a large screen wall along the south side and a large brick archway along the north side. To the north, there is a second archway, the Mountain Gate, Ling Palace, Leizu Hall, and Doumu Hall. The east courtyard of the two corridors is the Luzu Hall, the kitchen courtyard, and the Daozhong dormitory courtyard; the west courtyard is the Qiuzu Hall and the Supervision Court.
Song Wen walked into the Baxian Temple and found that everything inside was not the ancient building he imagined, but the thing made of cement bricks now. He felt very disappointed. After a few glances, he left, but the tickets were quite cheap, only three yuan.
After leaving the Eight Immortal Temple, he did not go back to the hotel, but wandered around and looked around.
He likes this the most. No matter which city he goes to, he likes to wander around without looking at the map. Because of this, he often inadvertently finds what he likes. As he walks, he unknowingly comes to a place that looks quite lively. When he looks up, the words "Baxian Temple Antique Market" suddenly appear on the archway in front. It turns out that it is a sold antique, no wonder it is so lively. After looking at it, he walked in.
The entire antique market is a two-story antique Langfang-style wooden building with a small corridor. The corridor is not big, and small shops on both sides stand side by side, with about a dozen stores in size; there are also many street stalls next to it. The cultural relics stores in the wooden building are of small and complete types, including ancient bronzes, jades, four treasures of study, ancient pottery, Tang Sancai, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing porcelain, ancient furniture and even calligraphy and painting collections, etc., and are squeezed into the glass window as naturally as a home.
There are many people on the market, but most of them are watching the fun and few buy them.
Song Wen was also a person who watched the fun. He looked left and right. With his eyes, he found that none of the things sold at the stalls looked like antiques, but mostly like handicrafts. Suddenly, he remembered something. Can't his bronze mirror show treasures? Maybe he could find good things from these messy things. Thinking of it, he reached out to his pocket, pretended to take out the bronze mirror from it, and then pretended to take the bronze mirror to the stall selling antiques on the market.
Originally, he wanted to take out Luo Geng, but he felt that it was a bit inappropriate to take Luo Geng in such a place, so he only took out the bronze mirror. He looked around with the bronze mirror, and believed that no one would see the weird thing.
Song Wen felt that this bronze mirror was good, but it was more troublesome to hold it in his hand. It would be great if he didn't have to hold it in his hand. Unfortunately, this was just something I could only think about.
The bronze mirror shone on many so-called antiques on the stall. It was blank and there was no light. After more than a dozen stalls, Song Wen didn't see a big light. Instead, he was dizzy when he looked at another stall. He felt dizzy, so he planned to stop and rest.
Suddenly, a dazzling red light radiated from the bronze mirror, almost blinding his eyes.
Having light means having treasures. Song Wen did not dare to neglect, so he quickly focused his attention to the place where the light was emitted and found that it was just an inconspicuous stone the size of an egg. Although the stone was a little round, the surface was bumpy, just like it was turned out from the soil of dry green onion. It looked like a round stone that was too ordinary. If Song Wen had not seen the stone glowing from the bronze mirror, he would not have believed his eyes.
The stall owner seemed to like the stone, and threw him in the corner aside.
Although the stone was not valued by the stall owner, Song Wen knew it was a treasure. He thought about how to buy the stone. He asked directly, and might not be able to ask the stone directly. Maybe the stall owner had a lion's mouth. After thinking about it, he squatted down and looked at the stall.
There are many things on the stall, including Buddha statues, porcelain, hand beads, amber, and agate, but they are just one or two pieces.
