Chapter 1621 Cuikov's Loyalty

Stalingrad.

"Moscow is lost." Khrushchev's face was extremely gloomy. Now, the defenders of Stalingrad were gathered together to discuss countermeasures.

Khrushchev was smoking a cigar and whispered, the whole room was soon filled with smoke.

Everyone is very sad. What does Moscow fall mean? Is it still necessary to say?

"I heard that hundreds of thousands of Moscow defenders were burned to death." The speaker was Major General Rodimtev, the commander of the 1st Guards Division, and his words were also very quiet: "No one survived, they didn't even have bodies, and they were burned to ashes, just like our Ural Industrial Zone."

"At the beginning, bombing Germany was a terrible move. We could have persisted, but the guys in Moscow thought they could use bombing to make the Germans surrender. What's the result? Now, the Germans have begun to use this terrible killing weapon unscrupulously. It can be said that the next step for the Germans will definitely be used against us!" Lieutenant General Gulov also spoke, and his words were even more fearful.

Now, Moscow is gone, and the Ural Mountain Industrial Zone is gone. Of course, Stalingrad is still in resistance.

In addition to the important geographical location, the most prominent thing here is that it is a city named after the great leader, which must have been on the blacklist of the Germans long ago.

No matter how they beat them, they were not afraid, but now?

It's different now, because the Germans don't come up to fight at all, and the Germans will just use bombs to blow up the place to flat ground and burn everyone to death.

Others didn't speak.

Lieutenant General Cuikov, the commander of the 62nd Army, did not speak. He knew in his heart that since Khrushchev came here, Gulov and Rodimtev had quickly fought with Khrushchev. Now, when the two of them say this, it means Khrushchev's meaning.

Without Khrushchev's affirmation, who dared to say that? Khrushchev was ordered by Comrade Stalin to come here to supervise the army. Anyone who has a weak will to fight will be shot by Khrushchev.

Now, no one dares to say anything about retreating, and Cui Kefu was also wondering, what did the two of them mean?

What did Khrushchev want to do?

Finally, Khrushchev poked the cigar in his hand into the ashtray beside him, and he spoke slowly.

"We can't win this war." As soon as Khrushchev said, everyone was stunned. Even Khrushchev said so?

"We are not afraid of fighting, but we cannot die directly in the bombing of the Germans. That is the stupidest behavior." Khrushchev said: "Also, there are hundreds of thousands of citizens in the city, all of whom are innocent, and we cannot let them die together in the bombing of the Germans."

"Then let's retreat?" Gulov said: "Let's retreat back and go to the Ural Mountains to continue to fight against the war?"

Khrushchev shook his head: "No, we can still stick to the city now. As long as we leave the city, we will soon be wiped out. Needless to say, we may encounter Germans or even Turks outside, along the way, and we can catch up and bite us. We cannot retreat at all."

If you can't retreat, stay here is waiting to die. So what else can you do?

At this moment, suddenly, a thought had already come to Lieutenant General Cui Kefu's head, and he was stunned for a moment. After a long time, he turned out to be surrendering!

So many reasons before were laid the foundation for the final surrender?

Comrade Stalin was really blind. He asked Khrushchev to lead the defense of the entire Stalingrad and rectify military discipline. But now, when the Soviets are in danger, the first person to surrender is Khrushchev. This is simply a huge irony.

Suddenly, contempt flashed in Cuikov's eyes. Although he was promoted by Khrushchev, now in Cuikov's eyes, Khrushchev is just a clown.

Cuikov was born in February 1900 in a peasant family in the village of Sherebrianiprud, Tula Province. The poverty of the family caused him to run away from home at the age of 12, come to Petersburg to make money and start a self-sufficiency.

Later, in 1917, he worked as an intern sailor in the Kronstad Mine Hand Squadron. The following year, after the great historical change of the Russian October Revolution, he entered the training class of the Red Army's Moscow military instructors and became the first class student.

Especially in the training class, Cuikov also met the great revolutionary leader Lenin and listened to his speech, which made Cuikov very excited. From that time on, defending the Soviets was Cuikov's most firm belief.

Later, Cui Kefu grew up in the war. He participated in the civil war and won two Red Flag Medals. Later, he entered the Fulongzhi Military Academy for further studies. After finishing his studies, he went to China in 1927 and served as a military consultant to China.

This was not until the Patriotic War broke out, and Cuikov finally returned to his motherland. After returning, he was ordered to come to Stalingrad and fight in the 64th Army.

Later, when Khrushchev took office, he appointed Cui Kov as commander of the 62nd Army, replacing General Lopatin, who believed that this army could not defend Stalingrad.

At that time, Cuikov thought Khrushchev was so patriotic, but now he saw that Khrushchev was also a speculator. When he saw that the situation was not good, he actually wanted to surrender.

He probably forgot what he said at the beginning? When he appointed himself as the commander of the 62nd Army, he once said, "I vow not to leave this city, and I will take all my steps to stick to it. I am determined to either guard the city or die in battle."

I will decide that I will not leave, nor will I surrender!

Cui Kefu looked around and almost everyone was lowering his head, so Cui Kefu knew that he had to do it himself.

Although Khrushchev is the supreme commander here, if Khrushchev intends to surrender, he will not let him go!

"The stomach hurts." Cui Kefu suddenly covered his stomach: "The potatoes I ate this morning may not be cooked."

As he said that, he bent over and walked outside.

Now, most of the troops in the city are from the 62nd Army. As long as Cuikov returns to his own troops, he will not be afraid. Once Khrushchev says he wants to surrender, he can bring his troops back at any time and control Khrushchev!
