Chapter 612 Experience Life

"Wang Yangming." Three words were spit out of Chen Kan's mouth.

"Okay!" Chen Kan disappeared as he said that.

Wang Shouren, whose courtesy name is Bo'an, was also called "Yangming". He was from Yuyao County, Shaoxing Prefecture, Zhejiang Province (now Yuyao, Ningbo). Because he once built a house in Yangming Cave, Kuaiji Mountain, he called himself "Yangmingzi". Scholars called him Mr. Yangming, also known as Wang Yangming.

A famous thinker, writer, philosopher and military strategist in the Ming Dynasty, the master of Lu Wang's Xinxue, was proficient in Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

This is a person in Chinese history that cannot be avoided by both thought and military.

As mentioned before, Chen Kan’s academic ideal is to "establish words", which is one of the "three immortals" (establishing virtue, establishing words, and establishing meritorious service) mentioned by the ancients.

In the thousands of years of history of China, Wang Yangming is now recognized by the academic community as the only one who has achieved the "Three Immortals".

Of course, some people say that Zhuge Liang and Zeng Guofan also completed the "Three Immortals", but there is great controversy between Zhuge Liang and Zeng Guofan, and many people do not agree with their status. The only thing is that there is no controversy over Wang Yangming.

In terms of thought, Wang Yangming was the master of the study of mind (also known as Wang Xue), and became the most influential idea in the Ming Dynasty. His academic thoughts were later passed down to Japan, the Korean Peninsula and Southeast Asian countries, and had a great influence on Japan, and even influenced Japan's subsequent Meiji Restoration, with a very far-reaching ideological height.

There is a saying that there are three saints in Chinese history, one is Confucius from the pre-Qin period, one is Zeng Guofan from the Qing Dynasty, and the other is Wang Yangming from the Ming Dynasty.

In later generations, many great people were die-hard fans of Wang Yangming's thoughts.

The two most famous are Grandpa Mao and Chairman Jiang. Many of Mao’s thoughts are in line with Wang Yangming’s thoughts. In his early years, Mao studied Wang Yangming’s thoughts a lot.

Chairman Jiang is even more a hardcore. The word "Zhongzheng" was later named after him. The source of the name is "Dazhongzhizheng" in Wang Yangming's mind. Later, when he educated his children, he asked his children to study Wang Yangming's thoughts and use them to govern the treasure island.

In Japan, Wang Yangming's status and role of the study of mind are almost equivalent to the Renaissance in the Middle Ages and Nietzsche's philosophy in Germany. Japanese Navy General Hirahachiro Togo carried a seal with seven words written on it - "I bow my head to worship Yangming for the rest of my life."

At the same time, Wang Yangming was also a military strategist. In Chinese history, the three most literati used military service, one was Wang Yangming of the Ming Dynasty, the other was Zeng Guofan who pacified the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and the last was Grandpa Mao who established a new China.

When Wang Yangming was the left-level censor of the Censorate, he suppressed the rebellion in the deep mountains and forests of Jiangxi in Fujian and Jiangxi, and quelled the rebellion that had been dangerous for decades, and used troops like ghosts and gods.

His battle to become famous was to quell the rebellion of Ning Wang Zhu Chenhao (remember the Stephen Chow version of "Tang Bohu's Tie Qiuxiang"? Ning Wang is the prince who always wanted to get angry but failed), and this happened during the Zhengde period. Chen Kan had wanted to find Wang Yangming in the previous plane, but he did not find it.

In history, because Wang Yangming quickly quelled the rebellion with some militias, an absurd thing happened after the quell.

This time, Emperor Zhengde was the emperor in charge of the army, but as soon as he walked halfway, he found that Wang Yangming, a "eyesless" guy, had actually dealt with the rebellion in a few ways.

This made Emperor Zhengde very unhappy. How did this reflect his martial arts? At first, he did not accept King Ning's surrender, but later he had the idea of putting King Ning back and causing trouble and capturing him with his own hands. At the same time, he was dissatisfied with Wang Yangming and did not award Wang Yangming the merits.

(This is also a firepower concentration point for historical scholars to comment on Emperor Zhengde. This story is a bit complicated, but it is very interesting. If you are interested, you can read related books.)

When Jiajing ascended the throne, Wang Yangming's achievements were recognized and he was named "Xinjian Bo", which was granted to him by Wang Yangming during his lifetime. In ancient times, dukes were divided into fifth grades of "Duke, Marquis, Bo, Zi, and Male". Don't look at "Xinjian Bo" as only the third grade duke. You should know that it was difficult to be named Duke in ancient times.

There are two situations except, one is after the saint mentioned in the previous article, such as Confucius' descendants, they will be named "Yan Shenggong"; in the Qing Dynasty, if your daughter became the queen, they will be named "Cheng Bengong".

It is difficult for others to be named Duke with their military merits. It is even more difficult to be named Duke alive. Even Li Hongzhang has made great contributions, and his title of Duke was given only after his death.

It can be seen how awesome this Wang Yangming is.

At the same time, Wang Yangming was also a master of national martial arts. It is recorded in "History of Ming Dynasty". One night, Wang Yangming was practicing qi in the army, and suddenly a long roar was shocked. All three armies were shocked. Regarding this paragraph, Mr. Jin also quoted it in "The Return of the Condor Heroes".

So Chen Kan chose Wang Yangming without hesitation. This person has been brilliant and down, and has achieved outstanding results in all aspects. He is definitely a benchmark figure in Chinese history.

In the eighth year of Chenghua in the Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty (1472), his mother was pregnant for more than ten months, and Wang Yangming was born and named "Wang Shouren".

At the age of thirteen, he believed that "the imperial examination is not the first priority." The most important thing in the world is to study and be a sage. After the Tumubao Incident, he vowed to learn military tactics well and be loyal to the country.

At the age of fifteen, he traveled to Juyongguan and Shanhaiguan, and he already had the ambition to manage all directions.

When he was seventeen years old, on the day of his wedding, he met a Taoist priest while wandering around and meditated. He asked the Taoist priest for advice. The Taoist priest taught him some health preservation techniques. He sat in meditation with the Taoist priest and forgot to return, and was found the next day.

At the age of eighteen, he came into contact with "Surveying things to help you know" and read Zhu Xi's works. In order to practice Zhu Xi's "Surveying things to help you to help you know", he made up his mind to explore the principles of bamboo and "surveying" bamboo for seven days and seven nights, but he found nothing. However, people fell ill and had great doubts about the theory of "Surveying things".

After entering the officialdom, his career was not smooth. At the age of 28, he angered the dictatorial eunuch Liu Jin, and was forty-something, and was exiled to Longchang, Guizhou. Longchang was still an uncivilized area at that time. Wang Yangming was not discouraged. He taught the locals according to customs and was loved by the people.

In this quiet and difficult environment in Longchang, Wang Yangming combined his experiences over the years and reflected on his day and night. In the middle of the night, he suddenly had an enlightenment. This is the famous "Longchang Enlightenment" in history.

Later, he pacified the thieves from all over the country, and used their troops as "weird" and arbitrary, and was named "crawling and specialized soldiers". In the 14th year of Zhengde, he pacified the rebellion of Ning Wang Zhu Chenhao.

In the first year of Jiajing, his father passed away. Wang Yangming returned to his hometown to observe the system. He then established Yangming Academy in Shaoxing to spread the "Wang Xue".

In the sixth year of Jiajing, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi was also the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi. He obtained a elixir certificate to pacify Lu Su and Wang Shou's rebellion.

On November 29, the seventh year of Jiajing (8:00 on January 9, 1529), he died of illness in Qinglong Port, Dageng County, Nan'an Prefecture, Jiangxi Province (now in Dayu County, Jiangxi Province).

When he was dying, his disciple asked him what he had last words, and he said, "This heart is bright, so what else is it!" After passing through Jiangxi, the soldiers and civilians were wearing mahjong clothes and crying to see Wang Yangming.
