Chapter 51: Empty talk misleads the country with hard work

Chapter 51: Empty talks will ruin the country and work hard to make the country prosperous

"The sky is 32,000 miles high, and the earth is 15,262 miles thick." Chen Ying said with a faint smile.

In fact, this is not Chen Ying's misunderstanding. Later astronomers originally believed that the sky was about 800 kilometers high, but with the development of science and technology, gas molecules still existed far away from the earth at an altitude of 16,000 kilometers. As for the thickness of the earth, it is actually more difficult to calculate than the sky. Because the earth is an irregular ellipse. If a tunnel is drawn from the Antarctic to the North Pole, the length of the tunnel will reach 12,700 kilometers. However, if the average value is taken, it will be 7,632 kilometers.

Yuan Tiangang said in confusion: "What level is this?"

Chen Ying said calmly: "The same as the ninth level!"

Yuan Tiangang asked again: "Honor Chen has considered me?"

Chen Ying shook his head: "No!"

"How do you know?"

"I said I've measured it, do you believe it?"

Yuan Tiangang said: "What method did you use to calculate the height of the sky and the earth?"

Chen Ying said: "Did Master Yuan believe in heaven and earth? Or do he believe in Huntian's saying?"

As early as the 24th century BC, the ancient Chinese began organized astronomical observation activities. Three major theories appeared in ancient China about the structure of heaven and earth, namely the Gai Tian Theory, Hun Tian Theory and Xuan Ye Theory. The Gai Tian Theory imagined the structure of heaven and earth as a large left-handed umbrella attached to many celestial bodies covering an inverted and stationary large plate. A typical discussion was given in the "Zhou Feng Suan Jing" written in the late Western Han Dynasty. The Hun Tian Theory regarded the sky as a ball shell attached to many celestial bodies and rotated left around the polar axis. Regarding the shape of the earth stationed in the center of the celestial sphere, there are two views: the earth and the earth are flat and the earth is round. It was written in the Jin Dynasty. The "A Note on Armillary Tian Yi" used the metaphor of "The Hun Tian is like a chicken, and the earth is like yellow in the egg".

In fact, whether it is Taoism or Yin-Yang, they believe in the theory of Gai Tian. Even if the sky is "round and earth", as long as they are a middle school student in later generations, they also know that this theory is actually wrong.

The round and earth of heaven are essentially the interpretation of the generation and operation of heaven and earth in the Yin-Yang system of the Book of Changes. The Book of Changes is the first of the hundreds of classics and the source of Chinese studies. Its ideological system believes that everything evolves according to Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. Therefore, in various ancient disciplines, there was an ideological system of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements in it.

Taoism naturally believes in the theory of the world. The ancients called the heaven and earth before they were divided and the chaos was first called Tai Chi. Tai Chi gave birth to two qualities, and yin and yang were drawn out, and the heaven and earth were divided. The ancients called the vast universe composed of many stars "Heaven", and the land that relies on for survival in it "earth". Since celestial bodies such as the sun and the moon are all moving around and endlessly, like a closed circle without beginning or end; while the earth quietly carries us there, just like a square object is still and stable, the concept of "the sky and the earth" was born.

Looking at nature, all round objects have the characteristics of movement and instability, just like the round sun and moon; all square objects have the characteristics of static and stable, just like the quiet earth. Movement is yang, and quiet is the *** believe that the "Heaven is round" must be harmonious in nature to be able to be understood, and the "place" must be rigorous in terms of destiny. It does not mean that the sky must be round, and the earth is square.

In any case, the world of heaven is Yuan Tiangang's belief, and he cannot violate his belief.

Sure enough, Yuan Tiangang said: "Of course, the sky is round..."

Before Yuan Tiangang finished speaking, Chen Ying said: "We saw sailboats coming from afar on the beach. Why did we see the mast of the sailboat first, and then slowly see the entire ship? And vice versa, the sailboat goes away, and the hull disappears first, and finally only a little mast is left. If the sky is round and the sky is round, then shouldn't it slowly become smaller and disappear in the end?"

"This..." Yuan Tiangang really didn't know how to answer for a moment. This matter is easier to solve than a problem of being so slim and slim, because people with a wide range of knowledge have seen this situation.

The hall was silent. Some of them looked at each other, some were speechless, and some were raised up, glaring at Chen Ying, wishing they could swallow him alive.

Because Chen Ying was not questioning Yuan Tiangang, but questioning Taoism and Yin-Yang School. To put it bluntly, this is questioning their beliefs.

Li Jiancheng sighed in his heart. After wandering around for a long time, Chen Ying was actually here to slap in the face. After so many preparations, all he had to hear was the last sound.

Taoism is just a kind of knowledge for Li Jiancheng. Although Emperor Wu of Han has been respecting Confucianism only, Emperor Wu of Han has not actually implemented the country with Confucianism. What he adopted was Confucianism outside and law inside. Since the late Eastern Han Dynasty, especially since the two party and corruption disasters, Confucianism has also been reflecting. The rebellion of the Yellow Turban Army and the subsequent turmoil of the Three Kingdoms, the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, greatly hit the intellectuals' desire to serve the country. Their fear of war and social disappointment led to some literati writing articles criticized, while the court adopted the "Nine-Rank Zhongzheng System" to begin to take certain control of officials. These factors led to the celebrities at that time gradually departing from public life, abandoning the Confucian norms, and turning to the pursuit of Taoist free will, forming a trend of pure talk.

In fact, Taoist thought is not only because of the great way that Yuan Tiangang pursues, but also the social atmosphere at this time. Even Li Jiancheng was dissatisfied with Chen Ying's move.

Yuan Tiangang's face was sunk, and his anger that was undepressed was rushing through his chest.

Chen Ying stood up, looked at Yuan Tiangang's almost exploded with a smile, and said lightly: "Master Yuan, if you hold an outdated old theory like the world of heaven and earth, you can't talk about it. Master Yuan, I'll take the initiative to ask, have you heard of the Huntian saying of Zhang Heng and Zhang Pingzi, a wise man in Nanyang?"

Yuan Tiangang hesitated for a while. "Are you saying 'The sky is like a chicken, and the ground is like a yellow in a chicken'? I have heard of it, but I have never done any research and dare not speak nonsense."

"It's not long, I'll ask Master Yuan for teaching questions when I have time!" Li Jiancheng saw that Yuan Tiangang was a little embarrassed and did not want to be aggressive, so he stood up and said.

Yuan Tiangang was so depressed at this time. His purpose was actually just as Chen Ying guessed. He just borrowed Li Jiancheng's identity and raised his own value, but he never thought that Chen Ying would raise two tricky questions one after another.

Li Jiancheng and Chen Ying stood up to say goodbye, but Yuan Tiangang felt like he was lost.

At this moment, the little Taoist boy said, "Master, you have been trapped!"

Yuan Tiangang was stunned: "Chunfeng, what do you mean?"

Li Chunfeng's mouth was crooked and smiled meaningfully. "Master, do you really want to know why the sail loses its hull first and then the sail?"

Yuan Tiangang suddenly realized and said thoughtfully: "What a cunning boy!"

Chen Ying left with satisfaction. When Chen Ying boarded Li Jiancheng's carriage, Li Jiancheng still couldn't understand Chen Ying. Why did he risk offending the world's Taoist sect? Will he just slap Yuan Tiangang in the face?

Li Jiancheng felt a little incredible.

Chen Ying should not be such a person. At least in Li Jiancheng's perception, Chen Ying should not be such a sharp person.

Chen Ying looked at Li Jiancheng's frown and his worries became even stronger. He couldn't help but smile and said, "Your Highness, in the pre-Qin period, why did all the sects establish sects and establish theories? During the Emperor Xiaowu, why did Dong Zhongshu talk about the resonance of heaven and man and respect Confucianism alone? However, when the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties began, why wasn't the metaphysics prosperous? Where should Confucianism go?"

Li Jiancheng's face became solemn. This question seemed simple, but it determined the core political direction of governing the country after the Tang Dynasty. However, although Li Jiancheng had more knowledge than Chen Ying, he really didn't know how to answer this question for a while. Li Jiancheng suddenly felt a little uneasy. He felt that Chen Ying's question and the two questions asked Yuan Tiangang were the same as the same kind of problems, which were beyond the realm of ordinary people.

How exactly does Chen Ying's head grow? How could he have so many strange problems?

Li Jiancheng suddenly realized that it was a very ridiculous thing to treat Chen Ying as an ordinary general. Chen Ying was not as simple as it seemed.

Li Jiancheng asked in a pondering voice, "Why does Chen Qing think...?"

"Learning is done for the right time." Chen Ying smiled, looking at Li Jiancheng's attitude towards him, and felt a sense of accomplishment. No matter what, if Li Jiancheng asked for advice, he would be more than half of the time.

Of course, Chen Ying was not entirely trying to pretend to be in front of Li Jiancheng and Yuan Tiangang. Chen Ying’s real purpose was to not want Li Jiancheng to treat him as an ordinary general. Chen Ying really wanted to enter the core of the East Palace and participate in major decisions, rather than be marginalized.

Chen used his actions to prove to Li Jiancheng that he was not a simple martial artist, nor a reckless man, but a knowledgeable person. In fact, Yuan Tiangang is very famous and well-known for his knowledge and knowledge. Who can better compare to Yuan Tiangang as a stepping stone?

If Yuan Tiangang knew Chen Ying’s thoughts, he would definitely vomit blood.

In Li Jiancheng's mind, there are all wise men, who are worthy of his conscience and are not ashamed to ask questions. Chen used this method to enter the core of the East Palace.

"Understanding knowledge and action, and adhering to knowledge!" Chen Ying sighed and said, "Doing knowledge and research is ultimately to solve problems. Whether this problem is a major issue related to the rise and fall of a country or an irrelevant doubt, it is ultimately to solve problems. If nothing can be solved, then this knowledge is meaningless. And the heroes of the world spend their whole life studying these knowledge..."

When Li Jiancheng heard this, he was even more sure of his judgment. At this time, his eyes were a little different when he looked at Chen Ying.

Especially Chen Ying's smile was all over, and there was a bit of loneliness of compassion for the world. Chen Ying said: "Empty talks will ruin the country, and the disaster will be endless. Work hard to prosper the country, and blessing the world, and for thousands of generations."

Li Jiancheng looked slightly and thoughtful: "What Chen Qing said is very true"

As he said that, Li Jiancheng suddenly grabbed Chen Ying's hand and said solemnly: "You, my king and my ministers will never be empty in the future. We will work hard to build the country and benefit the people."
