Chapter 958 Derby at Wembley

After playing an irrelevant league game, England's football officially entered the FA Cup time.

The FA Cup's status in the British Isles is second only to the Premier League, and its history is even longer than that of the Premier League and Premier League predecessor, the English League One.

The two semi-finals were played between England's greatest giant Manchester United and the richest tycoon Manchester City, and the two bottom teams Bolton and Stoke City.

For Bolton and Stoke City who reached the semi-finals, this is the supreme glory of their club, especially the semi-finals will be held at the sacred Wembley Stadium. Every player is proud to play football at Wembley Stadium, and every fan is proud to have watched their home team games at Wembley Stadium.

After the Middle East rich man took over Manchester City, although Manchester City is no longer a bottom-skin, their foundation is no higher than the teams in another semi-finals. This is their first time in 30 years to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Whether from the perspective of destroying the dream of a city rival Manchester United's triple-champion, or from the perspective of winning the first championship trophy in 30 years, or because of playing football at the great Wembley Stadium, Manchester City must win this game.

Although Manchester City lost three goals to Liverpool because of preparing for the FA Cup semi-finals, fans don’t think so, and the players don’t think so.

Manchester City fans believe that Manchester City is now strong and does not need to give up the league in order to prepare for the FA Cup, especially against a strong opponent like Liverpool. Losing like this is actually very harmful to morale.

Manchester United captain Tevez publicly stated that Liverpool is about to fall into the relegation zone and Manchester City does not have to be afraid of them. Milner and Balotelli are very dissatisfied with Mancini's replacement of them. They both think they are on the court, and maybe Liverpool cannot win Manchester United.

Before the battle with Manchester United, Mancini began his public relations. He called on Manchester City players to stop fighting, forget about their conflicts and disagreements with him, defeat Manchester United, advance to the FA Cup final, and win the club's first championship in 35 years.

Mancini said. “I think it would be stupid for the players to support me, if they don’t support it, and like me, they have a great chance of winning the trophy. It’s important for these players because it’s their first trophy.”

"I always play football to win the game. It's the same for them. Don't change it. It doesn't matter who plays on Saturday. The team is the most important thing, and all the players support me."

"I think every player knows that the club is at a critical moment now, and if we play well, we can advance to the finals, so every player will give 100%. We should be happy for this moment, and we have improved a lot as a whole over the past year."

Mancini can only use this method to support Manchester City players and fans. At Manchester United, Sir Ferguson's authority does not require any proof. At Manchester United, even if Sir Ferguson says it is becoming more and more square, fans and players will not have any expression.

Before the game, Sir Ferguson officially proposed the goal of striking the championship.

"Time has entered April. It is not a month to receive trophys, but the championships have almost always been produced this month. I am very lucky and thankful. We still maintain the chance to win the championship in the three or three lines. In 1999, we scored two goals in one minute, reversed Bayern and won the first triple-champion in history. The scene of the goal has remained in my heart at that time. I will never forget that it was a very special game. I think that was the beginning of our Premier League after 2000, and that was a starting point.

It is very important to the team to encompass all the championships, which is meaningful, which makes us realize the value of striving for the championship. After 12 years, we have the opportunity to compete for the triple-champion again. Such an opportunity is once a lifetime. I don’t want to lose him. I don’t think any Manchester United person is willing to lose such an opportunity. From now on, we will work hard for the second triple-champion. I hope that at the end of the season, we will be able to recreate the glory of 99 years and will not feel regretful and sad about our efforts."

After announcing the triple-winning titles of the league, Champions League and FA Cup this season, Ferguson also complained about his decision to play the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium.

"Think about it, the semi-finals have already been played at Wembley, so what is the significance of the final?" Sir Jordan reminded the FA. "Don't everyone be proud of playing at Wembley? Now that Manchester United and Manchester City are entering the semi-finals, we have to go to London to play, so our fans have to pay more air tickets and hotel money, which is really unfair to them. I believe that Manchester United fans hope that we will advance to the final at Old Trafford."

Ferguson complained, but Stoke City, the other semi-final opponent, raised his hands to approve of playing the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium.

The coach of Stoke City said: "For my players, the biggest motivation to win is to go to Wembley to play a game there. Because of the monopoly of the Premier League team, the Wembley Stadium is now a moon in the water and a flower in the mirror for most clubs. No matter how hard it is, it is impossible to realize the professional dream of standing on Wembley. Now many players can only fantasize about playing football at Wembley Stadium in the game. A player like us from a small club is too attractive."

The semi-finals of Stoke City and Bolton were the first to play. The two teams ranked 13th and 14th in the Premier League. They originally thought that this would be a even match, and neither side was ready to give up the game. But what was shocking in the end was that at Wembley Stadium, Stoke City exploded with a powerful force and scored five goals in a row, and finally defeated Bolton and reached the final 5:0.

Manchester United players watched the game on the spot, and everyone was shocked. The FA Cup is indeed worthy of being an unpopular breeding ground. Even a match that is evenly matched will lead to such an unpopularity.

Especially for Manchester United, which has the advantage in strength and historical record, this game is also a reminder for them. If they cannot give their all, they may be eliminated by Manchester City, who is extremely eager for the championship.

Manchester United has won 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the last 8 matches between the two sides, and the only loss happened to be the away match between Manchester City in the League Cup last year. The two sides have 13 historical matches in the Cup, with Manchester United having the upper hand in 7 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses. Among them, 6 matches in the FA Cup, Manchester United won 4 wins and 2 losses. Manchester City won Manchester United in the last FA Cup victory in January 1955.

Ferguson won 10 draws and 7 losses against Manchester City 40 times, his 10th FA Cup semi-finals since coaching Manchester United. His only loss was the penalty to Everton in 2009.
