37. Home. Family【4/100】(1/2)

In the hospital affiliated to the Strategic Science Legion, Merlin and Fury were looking at the person lying on the hospital bed in front of him and receiving assistance through the glass.

That was Agent Jasper Hitville.

Last year, Constantine helped organize the list of outliers in New York, and was admitted to the first-level agent in advance due to excellent work performance. But now, the young man is lying in the emergency room. It has been a week since he has not yet awakened.

Merlin also worked with Hitville for a while, and he had a good impression of this young Indian man.

"Hitville is not actually an excellent agent."

Fury hugged his arms and said to Merlin beside him:

"This young man lacks confidence and courage. He once told me that if he can, he volunteered to become an internal affairs agent. He was not even willing to use a gun, but just hoped that he could sit in the office and handle things within his ability. I checked his information. He was an orphan and almost lost his life because of a gang fight when he was a child."

"But he is a very qualified assistant. I handed over the task to Constantine. That guy was only responsible for providing some basic information, but the list Hitville gave me was very comprehensive, which included almost all the information from the different species, and everyone marked it very clearly. That list can be used as a standard template for internal documents of the organization."

Fury shook his head, and he said with some regret:

"If this young man can't wake up again, our organization will lose a very good assistant. He and a young man like you are the hope for the organization's future."

"Don't worry, he will wake up."

Merlin held a cup of coffee in his hand and sipped a sip of the slightly bitter liquid. In his spiritual vision, he could see the situation of the young man in front of him. He said to Fury:

"Hitville's weak soul is recovering. He cannot wake up now because his body is too exhausted. In a few days, he will wake up, and after a month of rest, he will be discharged from the hospital."

"Well, I hope so."

Fury reached out and buckled his sunglasses on his face and walked out of the hospital with Merlin. The two of them sat in the car, Fury drove all the way to Hell's Kitchen.

"This is what you want."

Merlin placed the coffee on the bridge, took out a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Fury.

The latter waved the steering wheel with one hand and took it with the other hand. He glanced at it, nodded and put the note close to his body. The records above were the complete materials and processes for making the sacred silver bullets, which were also agreed by the two people before.

"Come to work at the headquarters, Merlin."

Fury turned the car into a street. While honking the horn, he urged the car in front to leave quickly, and said to Merlin:

"Korel is now suppressed by Pierce. He is already in a state of great anxiety and has no time to cause trouble for us. I promised that your office can be assigned to you. I need some trustworthy people to help me handle some things."

"Do you still have to sit in the office?"

Merlin pulled a bored expression on his lips, and he said to Fury:

"Forget it, I've been in the office for a year in Gatler, and that job is really not suitable for me. I'd better continue to be a field expert. It's great to be a free-to-go action expert."

"That's OK."

Fury nodded and said:

"I may have to travel frequently in recent times. Since Kohler's threat does not exist, I will start to take up a new job. Agent Weaver has prepared everything. Our Agent Academy is about to be established. I have to find some outstanding young people like Hitville to fill the future of the organization."

"Do you want to go with me?"

"Well, it sounds quite interesting."

Merlin shrugged and said with regret:

"But it may not work lately, I have to hurry up and study magic. I can only keep those books for three years, but now, it has been a year and a half."

"Well, I mean, can those magic be spread out?"

Fury narrowed his eyes and asked softly:

"If I help you find some talented apprentices, can you?"

"It's OK in theory."

Merlin leaned against the driver's side seat, rubbed his forehead and said to Fury:

"But we'd better not do this. I heard that the Department of Magic is more rough in the United States. They hide in a corner of this land, monitoring North American magic activities. Once our behavior of teaching magic privately is noticed, it will definitely cause great trouble."

"Fry, you don't know that those wizards attach great importance to inheritance, and many of them have poor senses for ordinary people. They call ordinary people 'muggles', well, a humiliating word, do you understand what I mean?"

"Well, I understand. It sounds like a variant of the theory of blood."

Fury gave up this seductive idea with some regret.

As the agent supervisor and future leader, he definitely hopes that his organization will be as strong as possible. The power that Merlin's magic showed on that night really made Fury covet.

But he is still rational. When his organization is still in a low point, it is best not to provoke a magical force that sounds huge.

"But this matter is actually not impossible to compromise."

Merlin looked around and lowered her voice and said to Fury:

"In the wizard world, there is a kind of person called 'squin', which means those who have magical talents but cannot release magic. They are between wizards and ordinary people, and have a lot of knowledge about supernatural phenomena. Some squins are extraordinary. And most importantly, the existence of squins is actually quite common, and wizards have relatively loose management of squins."

"You mean, can we recruit some?"

Fury's eyes suddenly lit up. He touched his chin and said in a deep thought:

"Is they easy to find?"

"At least it's much easier to find than a hidden wizard."

Merlin said:

"I recently asked a few friends to help you find out where the squints gather in North America are. Don't recruit too many, Fury, having one or two knowledgeable consultants is enough. If there are too many people, it will attract attention, which is not worth the effort."

"I can understand that all we need is a consultant."

Fury patted Merlin on the shoulder and said:

"If you want to deal with those things, you can do it. You are now the top agent under my command who specializes in supernatural affairs."

"Your statement is a bit weird."

Merlin glanced at Fury, and he looked at the old flight jacket Fury was wearing, and he smiled and said:

"Is this dress easy to use?"

"Yeah, it's really good."

Fury said very satisfied:

"Never need to be washed, never dirty, it can repair itself if it is damaged. Except that it is not bulletproof and is dressed in a relatively old-fashioned way, everything is fine."

"Actually, there are the latest suits and uniforms for sale there."

Merlin said:

"I just don't know what style you like, so I didn't buy it."

"Then next time you come back, bring me a windbreaker."

Fury said:

"It's a black one, very cool one! Well, let's have a thin black sweater and pants, if you have combat boots, you'll have a pair."

"Okay, no problem."

Merlin nodded in agreement:

"I will definitely help you get it before your next birthday."

"Click"

While Merlin was talking, Fury's car stopped on the side of the road. Fury opened the window, pointed to Merlin at a house on the side of the road, and said to him:

"Your house was burned, so I'll rent another one for you, as your safe house as before. I won't arrange field tasks for you recently, so I'll hurry up and learn magic."

"The stronger you are, the more confident our organization will be when facing those strange things."

Merlin opened the car door and looked at the white house in front of him. He breathed a sigh of relief, turned his head and said to Fury:

"Thank you, this house looks good."

"Of course it's good."

Fury leaned against his new car with his arms, he said:

"The rent for this house is very expensive. I only paid for you the first month's rent. You can pay it yourself later. It comes with a yard and garage, and the furniture is complete. This place is quieter and remote, and no one will disturb you."

"Let's go in and have a look."

Merlin took the key from Fury and the two walked into the house. This was a typical American villa with two floors and wooden structure. The furniture was a bit long but not a big problem.

But in the yard behind the house, Merlin discovered something strange.

"Is this thing also a gift?"

Merlin pointed to the rusty old car placed next to the yard with two tires missing, and he said to Fury:

"Or the 'collectible' left by the previous tenant?"

"Uh, I don't know this either."

Fury looked at the scrapped old car in confusion, and said:

"I remember when I saw it last time, I didn't have this thing. Forget it, find a trailer to tow it away."

"etc."
