2. Omnic Grand Project(1/2)

A year ago, in order to kill the terrifying Cybertron Megatron, Megtron, Megtron, Merlin used the Cybertron's magical fire source as bait to introduce Megtron into the trap of mad attack.

But the ambush eventually had problems. With a desperate bet, Megtron exploded the fire source with his own hands, causing the huge Cybertron energy to be dispersed all over the world.

After the war, the World Security Council conducted a one-month investigation into Merlin on this matter, and finally, with Pierce's strong guarantee, Merlin cleared all responsibilities.

But since the problem has already emerged, the World Security Council must find a way to solve it. Merlin himself believes that he has his own responsibility in this matter, so he has been following it out of work.

Without much hesitation, Fury handed over the right to deal with this matter within S.H.E.L.D.

Fury knew Merlin very well, a subordinate with a strong sense of responsibility, and would not turn a blind eye to the troubles he caused.

At present, within the World Security Council, these activated mechanical lives are called "intelligent weapons" to distinguish them from the Cybertrons.

In fact, except for the first batch of intelligent weapons activated by fire source fragments, robots like Lora and Horus, which were almost exactly the same as the Cybertrons, the second batch of intelligent weapons activated by fire energy scattered all over the earth, probably because of the less energy they obtained, their form is completely different from that of the Cybertrons.

As far as Merlin knows, some of the second batch of intelligent machines, which are equally rare, have lost their ability to transform.

In the 8th month after the Cybertron fire source explosion, the third batch of intelligent machines born in the third large-scale energy disturbance in the fire-contaminated area were basically unable to deform, and their appearance was closer to that of humans.

They are like a group of self-intelligent robots, which have separated from the life form of the Cybertron and become a new mechanical life.

Now, there is good news and bad news in the investigation results of this matter.

The good news is that with the birth of batches of intelligent machinery, the energy scattered by the fire source on the earth is also dissipating, which shows that the energy that can give the real life of the machinery will one day disappear invisible.

And bad news and good news are born together.

According to the current speed of fire energy dissipation and the speed of the birth of intelligent machinery life, in Icarus' calculation, when the fire source energy completely disappears, it will produce at least 2 million self-aware robots.

Note, it is the least!

If the share of those energy imparted to each intelligent machine continues to decrease, the number of robots generated will probably increase several times.

"To put it simply, I think they are the difference between military and civilian products."

In the hall of the Pagasos base, Merlin and Fury walked up the stairs while putting their hands in the windbreaker, their faces cold, and the director of the harsh egg with a blindfold explained:

"You can think about it like this, Fury, compares the third generation of intelligent weapons we are currently inhabiting. They do not have a companion weapon system, and the body consisting of metal is about 2 meters. When fighting, our soldiers who can easily suppress them will regard them as military supplies."

Fury nodded, the comparison was simple and easy to understand, so he signaled Merlin to continue.

"I'll give you an example. For example, for every time those energy generates such a smart machine, it needs to be given 10 points of energy."

"But in fact, if you simply make a piece of mechanical metal live, it doesn't take 10 points. According to my current calculation, 2-4 points of energy may be enough to activate a 'civilian product'. I mean, it is weaker than the current third-generation intelligent equipment, and may not even be able to defeat soldiers, and ordinary men can kill them with weapons."

Merlin waved his hand and said to Fury:

"It is equivalent to reducing the quality, but increasing the quantity. If this situation I expect will occur, then the number of 'civilian products' intelligent robots we will face in the end will likely reach 5 million. This is a conservative estimate."

"Yeah, I understand."

Fury nodded, and he said to Merlin as he walked forward:

"But pure quantity is meaningless. If the 'civil goods' that continue to be born later come to chaos, then we only need to send an elite army to solve them easily, right?"

“It’s theoretically.”

Merlin pushed his glasses and said to Fury:

"But you overlooked one thing, Fury, the characteristic of mechanical life is that it is better at using data and mechanical tools than we do. Those civilian products and intelligent machines may not be good at fighting, but they can enhance their strength by making more vassal weapons. You won't think they can't even use guns, right?"

"There is another point about the form of mechanical life."

Merlin stretched out a finger and shook it at Fury, and he said:

"Even if mechanical lives are removed, their bodies will not die. As long as they still retain data modules, they can be reborn again with bodies. This is an advantage that we cannot compare to."

"So, I will upgrade the threat level of the intelligence crisis that may break out in the future from S to SS. I mean, I think we really have to take this matter seriously and at least prepare from now on."

Fury nodded, he fully understood what Merlin meant, he turned his head to look at Merlin, and he said:

"I know you are not a bastard who can only ask questions but not solve them. If you come to talk to me about this, it means you must have a solution, right?"

He raised his wrist and looked at his watch, and he said:

"We have some time left. Let's talk about it in detail."

Merlin glanced at Fury, he looked around and said:

"I'm even more curious, why did you call me here?"

"You'll know in a while."

Fury smiled strangely, leaned against the railing and urged:

"Tell me your thoughts quickly. In just a few days, the World Security Council will meet to discuss this matter. If your plan is excellent enough, maybe we can get enough initiative in this matter."

Speaking of this, Fury sighed and said:

"To be honest, I am really a little worried about handing over this matter to governments for free. The politicians consider the problem differently from ours. They are not professional after all."

"All right."

Merlin reached out and pushed his glasses. The next moment, the projection device on the Icarus frame turned on, and a small three-dimensional projection appeared in front of Merlin and Fury.

It was an open world map, and Merlin marked completely different symbols on the locations of 24 severely infected areas and 16 mildly infected areas.

He reached out and pointed to an infection area on the North American continent, saying to Fury:

"My idea is very simple. Instead of waiting until the SMART thing can't be concealed, we should start to intervene from now on. Colson gave me a preliminary suggestion, I improved it, and now I have two ideas."

"First of all, the birth of intelligent machinery requires raw materials. If enough metals and machinery are not found within the energy disturbance range, these energy will instinctively spread further away."

Merlin stretched out her hand and made an explosive posture, and he said to Fury:

"The larger the spread, the smaller the energy dispersed on each activated smart machine, and the weaker the smart machine born. This is where we can operate."

"Set up storage bases at the edge of each infection area, place a large number of dispersed mechanical raw materials in it, and clear the metal materials in the infection area as much as possible, so that the rhythm of the birth of each intelligent machine life is in our hands. This can not only weaken the strength of intelligent machine but also make storage more convenient."

Merlin said:

"Of course, this idea is a bit too ideal, and requires a lot of resources and government support, and it is not applicable to all infection areas."

He pointed to the sections of Germany, Russia and South Korea, and he said:

"For example, here, the Aishinwald region of Germany, the Caucasus region of Russia, the infected areas of the South Korean Peninsula, etc. These places are already densely populated or industrially based areas, and these countries cannot migrate the population of these areas because of future disasters."

"Um"

Fury looked at the world map in front of him, rubbing his chin, and he said:

"Yes, this can be submitted to the World Security Council, I think they will accept it. What about the second suggestion?"

"The second one is for these infectious areas that are difficult to deal with."

Merlin moved his fingers and said:

"My idea is that you can suggest that these countries reorganize large industrial areas in the infected areas. I mean, if the birth of smart machinery is inevitable, then you must control the new smart machinery as soon as possible."

"The government came forward to establish a national industrial park with an official nature, which will prevent the news of intelligent machinery from impacting social order on the one hand, and curb the possibility of intelligent machinery being hidden in human society."

"Intellectual machinery has its own thinking. When it was just born, their thinking was like white paper. If they could communicate well, they could be placed on the spot. I mean, to become workers in the industrial park, or some other position."

Speaking of this, Merlin smiled and said to Fury:

"I guess those capitalists will be happy to replace flesh and blood with intelligent workers to achieve the dual results of population migration and shelter, a group of workers who do not need to pay wages."

"What else?"

A spark of thinking shone in Fury's one-eye, and he asked: Mobile::

"Your suggestion is practical, but I still have some doubts. You know, we cannot hide this news all the time. People will know that there is an existence of smart machines."

"Well, I've considered this, too."

Merlin said in a concise tone:

"But this is easy to solve. The people's concerns are from their lack of understanding of smart machines. They will regard smart machines as another form of life, worrying that these new lives will impact their lives, so in terms of publicity, we need to change this definition, I mean"

Merlin pushed his glasses and said slowly:

"From now on, we will find some social activists, and a few scientists and capitalists to promote the technological trends about artificial intelligence and robots."

“Let people accept the existence of intelligent robots and think that this is a good thing.”

He snapped his fingers and continued:

"This is a preview, a psychological hint. Once this ideological transformation is completed, there is no need to wait until it is completed. As long as some people support this trend, we can release news about smart machines bit by bit."

"Of course, in this propaganda, there is only one explanation for the emergence of intelligent machines that humans have created them."

Merlin's tone was aggravated:

"They first appeared in human society in the form of tools, not independent life forms."

"Then find some human rightsists, those feminists, animal protection organizations, environmental protection organizations, etc., and let them come forward to fight for rights for smart machines anyway, they are very idle all day long, and they want to have such things to increase their popularity."

"I don't think I need to say anything about the rest. You should be better at this aspect than me, so I won't show off my skills."

Merlin shrugged, and he looked at Fury:

"In my plan, there is only one thing that must be done step by step, and people cannot be disgusted or feared by smart machines. The most important thing is to prevent possible signs of violence within smart machines in a timely manner. They all have the ability to think about themselves. I hope this matter can end in a peaceful manner."

"So I mean, when necessary, we can select pacifist, moderates, like Professor Charles, among the intelligent machine groups, like we do to mutants."
