11. The Burning City (Part 2) -- Brother Aaron, the Great Arcanist [38/40](1/2)

"It seems you know me?"

Merlin was not surprised to hear Talia calling out his nickname.

In fact, if the famous Assassin League didn't even find his name and information, he would feel unexpected and disappointed. After all, judging from the information he has learned now, Assassin League is a powerful organization that is hidden and uncovered.

He looked at Talia and asked:

"Have you collected my information specifically?"

"No, no."

Talia denied calmly, put down her wine glass and said:

"Since I'm already a friend, I won't hide some things from you."

"The Assassin League split a few years ago. Just before Bruce joined us, our power on the East Coast of North America was almost gone, and we had almost no decent branches on that land. I just knew your name and what you did. I didn't know that you were my 'old friend' back then."

"Well, it seems that your current situation is really not optimistic."

Merlin said:

"So the Batman is dispatched to attack those gangs to regain control?"

"Yes. There is no need to hide these things from you."

Talia's expression became serious, and she said to Merlin:

"That was my father's plan, but I actually don't agree with using this violent way to solve problems. It's impossible to rely on those gangsters. Past failures have proved that the method of the previous era has failed in this era."

The cunning and attractive woman plucked her long black hair and said to Merlin:

"Since I've said it now, I'll just say it, Merlin."

"I need your help!"

"help?"

Merlin asked:

“What helps?”

"Help me become the leader of the Assassin League!"

There was a light of ambition in Talia's eyes. She did not hide her desire for the organization behind her. She said:

"My father has lived for more than 700 years. I admit that he is a great leader. But he has no longer kept up with the pace of this era, from forcing his own successors to rebel against Bruce, to planning a Gotham invasion and then getting a tragic failure, and this attack on North America was simply a series of tricks."

Talia shook her head, with a strong sense of disappointment in her tone, she said:

"No matter how bright the sun is, there is a moment when it sets. The era of the head of the demon is over."

"Sorry, I can't help."

Merlin refused:

"I am a public official and shouldn't deal with killer organizations like you, this is not allowed."

"Killer organization?"

Talia sneered, and she said in a playful tone:

"I don't know where you heard the news, thinking we're a killer organization. But Merlin, you're really underestimating us a little. Let me think about it, you live in New York and seem to be in Hell's Kitchen, right?"

"Um."

Merlin nodded, and Talia chuckled, and she said:

"Who has a St. Matthew's Church?"

"right."

Merlin's expression became weird.

He had long noticed that St. Matthew's Church was a bit weird. Eric, who had been there for several years, also told him that St. Matthew's Church seemed to be protected by a mysterious force.

"Is that your territory?"

Merlin asked.

"No, that is the property of the Sisters of Divine Grace."

Talia replied seriously:

"You should have heard of the Sisters of Divine Grace, right? One of the largest religious forces in Europe."

"Yeah, I've heard of it."

Merlin nodded and said:

“It is said that it is also one of the largest charitable organizations in the world, with orphanages and monasteries belonging to them all over the world.”

"Well, the Sisters of Divine Grace are one of the industries under the Assassin Alliance."

Talia bounced her finger and said to Merlin:

"And not the most important one."

She looked at Merlin who was a little surprised and a smile appeared on her face, she said:

"Merlin, we, the Assassin Alliance, although the name contains the word Assassin, we have never been a pure killer organization from the moment we were born."

"We have experienced the era of great navigation, and with the reputation of the Invincible Armada, we have spread our power throughout the world!"

"We have witnessed the ups and downs of the French Revolution, and we have our marks in the Louvre and on the guillotine of Louis XIV!"

"Our ancestors walked on the battlefield in the Civil War, using the double blades in their hands to safeguard and fulfill our justice!"

"We are hidden behind the scenes of World War II, the most important intelligence provider of the Allied forces in the European battlefield. On the beaches of Normandy, our warriors are igniting the fire of the Allied forces."

"Merlin, the Assassin League was not established by my father."

Talia whispered in Merlin's ear:

"Everything outside is just a rumor. Only the people of my family know that my father has just inherited an ancient belief. Let me tell you, where he found the Pond of Sarah, he discovered many ancient records, and our history can even be traced back to 400 BC!"

"We have many, many names, orderly guardians, guardians, Assassin, we are not just a product of history, we create history!"

"It's just that over the years, the Assassin League has gone astray, but it doesn't matter. After I took over my father's flag, I will bring this organization back on track with my own hands! But I need your help, Merlin, there is no good or evil in power. Do you want the Assassin League to be used to maintain order? If you want, please help me!"

"The power of SHIELD is blank in many parts of the world. As long as we cooperate, you can quickly and quickly truly monitor the entire world."

Talia's body was almost pressed against Merlin's shoulders. This posture made Merlin subconsciously sway her body, and he said:

"Just speak well and don't get so close."

"Haha, it's really interesting."

Talia slowly returned to her chair, she looked at Merlin frivolously, and said:

"You reminded me of Bruce, an ascetic who was in a chastity. You really look very much like him, and you have suppressed anger roaring in your heart."

"I won't say this."

Merlin waved his hand, he didn't want to say too much about this issue.

He thought for a moment, then looked at Talia and said:

"I can't give you the answer, I don't have that permission. But I remember your proposal, and I'll submit it if I have the chance."

"No."

Talia shook her head and refused:

"I don't trust your organization, Merlin, I trust you! I'm asking you for help, not SHIELD. I heard from my father that Hydra is hidden in the shadow of your SHIELD. I don't want to get involved with you before you get rid of that shadow."

"I?"

Merlin shook his head and said:

"Apart from the identity of Agent S.H.I.I. I am just an ordinary wizard. How can I help you and your career?"

"You have advanced the alien order in New York. As far as I know, your department is managing it."

A trace of splendor flashed in Talia's eyes, and she said:

"The next step, your power will expand to the entire East Coast. Listen to me, Merlin, I don't need you to help me grab territory with open fire. I just need you to release your fingers when necessary. I only need a gap, a little shadow that can hide. That's enough."

"The rest of the things my assassins will naturally handle."

"It seems you already have your own power, Talia."

Merlin said:

"You look quite sure."

"If Bruce didn't leave, I'm now the Assassin Queen."

Talia said a little dissatisfied:

"But my father was too anxious. His strength successfully forced Bruce to his opposite side. In the situation at that time, only the last step was left before Bruce completely joined us. If I were asked to persuade him, he would definitely be with me and Demien."

"How is it? Merlin."

Talia asked:
To be continued...
