7. Merlin's Invitation(2/2)
"They are not doing bad things. Recently, a kind of poison x mixed with vampire blood has become popular in New York. That dock is where those poison x originated. In fact, I am still running outside at this time tonight because of this."
Speaking of this, Merlin picked up his cell phone, sent a message to Sharon, and looked at Elsa with her eyes closed and wind blowing beside her.
He felt a feeling of loss and sadness from this girl.
A few seconds later, he asked softly:
"This trip wasn't so satisfying, right?"
"yes."
Elsa closed her eyes and drank a sip of wine, and she said in a desolate tone:
"I went to Romania to find my father, but I found nothing. Even a body was fine but nothing was there. He seemed to have disappeared out of thin air. That felt so bad."
"This is a good thing."
Merlin persuaded:
"That means your father may still be alive."
"That would be even worse."
Elsa drank another sip of wine, she opened her eyes, and in those beautiful blue eyes, there was a sadness filled her, she whispered:
"If he is still alive, why didn't he come back to see me and my mother in the past 8 years? It's like, it's like we've been completely forgotten by him, like we've been abandoned."
"Hey!"
Seeing Elsa drinking again, Merlin reached out and snatched the wine glass from Elsa's hand.
He looked at Elsa with a serious look, and he said:
"Don't think about your relatives with such malicious intentions, especially if he is your father. I have learned a lot about my father in recent times."
Merlin shook his head and said to Elsa:
"Believe me, girl, my father will never abandon his children. Your father must have something unspeakable. Maybe he was trapped somewhere, maybe he didn't contact you, because he was for your safety, maybe he was involved in something worse. I mean, be optimistic, you have gone to that ghost place in Romania and have returned unscathed."
"Where else in this world can stop you?"
"You mean I should keep looking?"
Elsa glanced at Merlin, she snorted, and snatched her quaint and exquisite wine glass from Merlin, and she said to Merlin:
"Also, you obviously do something bloody with your hands, and you are in contact with an alien dark world. How do you keep yourself this optimistic?"
"Of course you should look for it."
Merlin leaned against the wooden barrel at the edge of the house, and he held his arms and said to Elsa:
"Although I don't know your father, I know that people like him will not be silent no matter what the ending is. Maybe you are very close to the final truth, so close that you are only one step away from."
"As for me, I'm not optimistic."
Merlin turned his head and looked out the darkness outside the window, and he said:
"I just saw too many tragic things, just looking forward to seeing some different endings."
"But I can't continue."
Elsa said sadly:
"I came out without telling my mother. This time, in order to go to Romania, I took the initiative to contact several senior masters. My mother ordered me to go back. What did she say? The kind of old-fashioned person was born in an earlier ancient era and valued the rules very seriously."
"She allowed me to inherit my father's career, but she wouldn't allow me to run around aimlessly outside, and my trial has not been completed yet."
The girl shrugged and said to Merlin:
"Unless I find a legitimate job that she can recognize but being a small shop owner certainly doesn't count."
"Wait a mininute."
Merlin reached out to interrupt Elsa's confision, and he said:
"My subordinates are here to pick up the prisoner. I'll go out to negotiate with her, and it will take a few minutes."
After saying that, Merlin, with a expressionless face, walked out of the House of Blood with Miss Mercury who was unconscious and dying. Elsa looked at the dark night outside the window with nostalgia. After she returned to the Bloodstone family manor, she would not have lived such a free life in these few months.
She is different from her own mother, and she does not like to be bound by those ancient traditions.
She opened her hand and in the palm of her hand, there was a delicate, black steel cast, fierce pendant similar to the head of a raptor. She looked at the pendant and whispered:
"Father, are you waiting for me in a corner of the world?"
"Next time, next time, I will definitely find you!"
A few minutes later, Merlin returned to the House of Blood, and Elsa was already back at the counter, sorting out her gadgets used to deceive laymen.
It was an unsuccessful monster hunting item she made herself, and it was also her little hobby.
"this"
Merlin put something in front of Elsa, and he said to the girl in front of him:
"I can't help you much, but I think we're here, so if you're willing to accept it."
Elsa was stunned for a moment. She picked up the things that Merlin handed over, put them in front of her, and read them word by word:
"Homeland Strategic Defense Attack and Logistics Support Bureau, directly under the Supernatural Affairs Defense Observation and Logistics Department, and the First Level Consultant for Special Affairs Miss Elsa Bloodstone"
When she read this, Elsa raised her head with a hint of surprise and looked at Merlin.
Merlin shrugged at her and he whispered:
"Take this thing back and see your mom, and when she asks you who you work for, you don't have to stutter."
"Master Ulysses Bloodstone was the last special affairs consultant. You are a daughter who inherited her father's business. I think your mother should agree."
