21. Conflict (2)
“Adam.”
Tonight, after the Five Fireballs, the name had a unique magic on the Moldo Academy. In the hearts of everyone, Adam had already equated with his power. They could ignore Ophelia, but they could not ignore Adam's opinion.
Tom dared not speak anymore. A despicable little person like him has his own way of survival and can entice the strong, but he will never challenge opponents who are not on the same level at all.
Adam has been watching it for a long time. He actually doesn't care about the ownership of a mere monster. Instead, he is very interested in the ugly faces that humans show when they involve their own interests. Whether it is Ophelia, Quentin, or Tom, each face is like a group of symbolic information, constantly filling the gap in his understanding of human nature.
After saying that, Corriestel ran to Adam. He originally wanted to ask Adam to come forward to justice, but after seeing Adam's expressionless face again, he suddenly didn't dare to speak.
There was an awkward silence on the deck.
After William hid in the crowd on his own, he had made up his mind that at least he would not have any conflict with Adam on this ship. Since Tom was seeking death, he had no interest in saving him. Moreover, William believed that Adam would not care about Tom. After all, this was a bit of a loss of identity, but he didn't know how Adam would deal with Quentin and Randy.
But what happened the next second was beyond everyone's expectations.
Adam threw a fireball on Tom's head very directly, blew him into pieces, and then naturally walked to the front and picked up the corpse of the monster and walked back to the side of the deck.
The apprentices were stunned. They were stunned and didn't know what expression they should use to face what had just happened. In front of them, one apprentice simply killed another apprentice without hesitation.
Adam walked back to his original place and was looking forward to their reaction. There were two reasons for doing this. One is that although Adam could not judge whether the Mage Continent was an orderly civilized world or a disordered primitive world, at least on this ship, the four mages acquiesced to fight, even if they touched life. The other is that Adam was really curious about what kind of reactions humans would react when facing the matter of carnivorous trampling on their common concepts.
Will you surrender or resist?
After about a minute, everyone realized what had just happened. Their expressions changed from dullness to fear in an instant.
"Murdered!"
"How dare you! How dare you do this!"
"We are all mage apprentices, we have the same identity. Why do you dare to kill another apprentice like this? Master Mage won't let you go!"
A strange reaction. Adam thought.
Although they were panicked when the monsters killed their companions, they were definitely not so angry. It seemed that in their eyes, it was natural for monsters to kill people, and killing people was unforgivable.
"Adam, you're too much." Randy shouted loudly.
"You must give other apprentices an explanation. We cannot tolerate that there is a person who wants to kill his companions among them. You have to pay the price for your actions." Quentin took a step forward, stared at Adam with his eyes tightly, and said righteously.
Ophelia and Corriestel were also stunned. Even though Ophelia was angry, she did not think about killing Tom, at least not on this ship. And the reason why Corriestel asked Adam for help was just to get some support.
None of them thought Adam would kill anyone.
"No feelings, not like the same."
Ophelia once again remembered the words of her father, Earl Johnson. That sentence never became so clear that it was now, which made her frightened.
For Adam, this was an experiment, and he had to cooperate with the experimental steps to continue, so he replied, "What explanation do you want?"
Quentin's breath stagnated, and he suddenly didn't know how to continue. Yes, what explanation should be? It is obvious that it is impossible to ask Adam to pay his life for Tom.
what to do?
Quentin felt a cold sweat on his forehead, and he felt that he seemed to have done something stupid, and he put himself on the fire and roasted it.
Adam was not satisfied and the subjects did not cooperate. How could he continue? He asked Randy, "Where am I overdoing it?"
Randy said: "We are on the same boat and will study in the same academy in the future. Tom is just a bit offensive in words and actions. How can you kill him like this?"
Adam was very dissatisfied. After regaining his sanity after the initial shock, these people were thinking and thinking towards themselves. It is true that their companions died by their side, but they could not avenge Adam for others. Now the words of condemnation are full of loopholes and concessions.
Is this cowardice universal or is it just happening to these people?
Adam shook his head and walked towards the cabin. Sure enough, no one, including Randy and Quentin, dared to stand in front of him. Adam returned to the cabin smoothly. Until Adam's figure disappeared on the deck, the others dared to whisper and a fearless look in front of his companions.
After a while, they seemed to feel that this was boring, so they all fell silent in embarrassment and carried the corpses of the monsters themselves. No one dared to touch the corpse of the body-refining monster.
Corriester suddenly felt that the environment deep in her and the people around her were so strange. She had discovered Adam was very cold before, but she never expected that this teenager would be so indifferent to life. This was very subversive to her.
Ophelia sighed, feeling complicated and didn't know what to think.
On the first floor of the cabin, the banquet in the mages' rooms never stopped, and fresh food was continuously served. The mages did not need a low-level recovery method such as sleep. Judging from their total mental power, if they did not use magic, they could remain full.
Master Erin seemed to be drunk. She lay lazily on the table, supporting her head with one hand and holding a wine glass with the other, and said softly: "I didn't expect that the little guy would dare to kill someone. Did he guess that we wouldn't care?"
"This is not the point. He doesn't seem to kill people for resources, but just needs to kill people to do this? It's very dangerous. This apprentice named Adam. If he kills everyone, I will pay you my reward." Master Jerome teased at Master Black.
Master Black agreed: "Of course." Then he said: "It's indeed a very strange style. Just killing people just for the sake of killing? I can't figure it out, and I don't seem to have heard of such things. But it shouldn't matter, I don't think he won't kill everyone."
Adam really won't do this because it's meaningless and requires experiments on a group. It doesn't mean that every individual in the group is a subject of the experiment. Just find a sample. Tom just needs to do it.
The voyage continues, with more and more monsters and fewer apprentices. In the second half of the month, the mage completely closed the cabin, and the apprentices need twenty-four hours (why is it also a twenty-four hour day in another world? Because this setting is too troublesome to change.) Keep your mind tight and face the monsters coming at any time.
Only six survived, Adam and the three, William, Quentin and Randy.
Mastering fireball techniques is the foundation. Those who can't even do this are the first to die, followed by instant fireballs, and two instant fireballs. In this case, if you don't make progress, you will die.
Outlining the mental solidification runes and spell runes sets has become their instinct, and these two tasks are being carried out every moment.
As expected by Adam, the closer it gets to the mage continent, the higher the number and quality of the monsters. Now the low-level monsters have disappeared. Every monster that rushes on the deck will use magic or have the combat power that is far greater than the Knights.
But the most terrifying thing is an ugly monster that can use poison gas. It only appeared once, and that time took away half of the apprentice's life. William and the others finally realized that the weak alliance was meaningless in the world of mages, so the childish and boring organization completely fell apart.
Adam's situation is a bit special. No one, including Ophelia, wants to get too close to him. However, whenever the monsters attack, they spontaneously focus on Adam, especially when Adam fired at the same time, and instantly blasted the poisonous monster into scum.
Adam sat directly opposite the Fireball Rune Group. He looked unchanged this month, without any scars on his body and fatigue on his face. The days of crisis were no different from usual for him. However, the continuous repetition of the monster made him a little dissatisfied.
No matter how ugly this thing is, the essence of the carbon base has not changed. In other words, for Adam, only the different magic used by the monsters has a record meaning. However, nearly months have passed, and there is still no new. Adam has had enough fun with it.
When he thought of it, Adam instantly inspired the fifteenth sister's fireball, and five pieces hit the rune group that had been hanging in the air. The rune group shattered in response to the sound, and dissipated invisible with the crisp sound of the jingle.
Just now, Corriester was bored looking into the distance alone at the other end of the deck. Suddenly, she found a different color appeared on the vast sea surface in the distance. She turned around and ran over and shouted in surprise: "Master Continent! We are about to arrive at the Magister Continent!"
But she found that everyone was looking at Adam in a dark and kept looking at him, and Corristel shrank his neck and stopped talking.
It was not until Adam picked up the mass fragments in the rune group that William asked: "Is it the reason for the attack on Warcraft? You knew it long ago?"
When Adam's hand touched the fragment, his mental power quickly interacted with it, and the magic began to condense at a speed far beyond the usual. Adam hurriedly conquered himself, which avoided the ridiculous ending of the soul being burst by the magic.
