Final Chapter Redemption

2220, one day in May.

Early in the morning, outside of Naples.

A man in a black suit slowly walked into a quiet small cemetery.

He held a rose in his hand and stopped in front of a tombstone.

Then he stood silently for a long time.

It was not until the morning dew faded and the sunlight spread to his shoulder that he knelt down on one knee and placed the rose in his hand on the nameless tombstone in front of him.

Then, just like when he came, he left without saying a word.

…………

That night.

Jack Anderson came to the palace of the Sixth Empire alone.

It's not difficult for him to sneak into this place - even the best defense system in the world cannot function properly during the time of stopping.

In his opinion, the real hard part is after infiltrating.

Jack had investigated in advance and even Jack didn't know how strong the two men were and what their abilities were, and what they were capable of.

But this worry did not bother him for too long.

Because he soon discovered that these two people were not there at all...

He didn't know why, but he didn't have time to think about it.

He came all the way to the throne and came to Zilin.

Not long after, the sharp blade of his sleeve sword had already hit Zilin's throat.

Jack really planned to take action, at least the moment when Xiujian took action, he did not hesitate at all.

But at the end, he captured something fleeting from Zilin's eyes... which made his hand stop.

He calmed down.

Then, he woke up from the "feeling of ceremony" that Zi Lin set up to him.

Therefore, he took back the sneaker sword.

"What are you doing?" Zilin saw this and immediately sneered, "Ha... You may not be afraid of it now, right?"

"Forget it, I understand it." Jack continued, "Give up."

"What are you talking about?" Zilin looked coldly at her eyebrows.

"When you sent Wumeng Han to come, you had already reached this point, right?" Jack said.

Zilin didn't answer this.

"You arranged it yourself tonight when Kaijiu and the Gun Ghost are not here." Jack continued, "and you deliberately pretended not to know that they were not here and said the words just now to stimulate me." He paused, and finally said Zilin's true intentions, "You... want me to kill you here, right?"

Zilin's expression changed, and the cold and stern expression he pretended to disappear from his face, and turned into his usual jokes with a little indifferent expression: "Tsk... I'll succeed if I'm just a little bit."

"The emperor has been eliminated, the dynasty has been settled, and the leaders of the resistance organizations have been replaced with controllable clones, so you feel that it is not a big deal for you to leave now, and you feel..." Jack said, "...your death can be your last resistance to Tianyi."

"Can't you help me?" Zilin asked.

"Why me?" Jack said.

"Because you are the God of Killing." Zi Lin said.

"You think it's decent to be killed by me?" Jack said.

"It is no exaggeration to say that it is an honor." Zilin said.

"But I don't want to kill you today." Jack said.

"Why?" Zilin said.

"Because I don't want you to get what you want," Jack said.

"Do you hate me so much?" Zilin spread his hands and said, "That's right, the things you had in Naples and Qianming were planned by me backstage. The only woman you regarded as the life-saving straw on the road to redemption was the one I sent to you and let her die in front of you; it was also me who killed Uncle Xue, who was like-minded with you... But these are not personal grudges; on the other hand, even if it is, shouldn't you kill me and avenge them?"

"If these between you and me are personal grudges, then there are too many people who have personal grudges with you today." Jack continued.

"This is all worthy of this world." Zilin said this, and returned to the throne, picked up the bottle of wine placed aside, and poured himself a few sips of red wine. "I said: If you abandon saints and wisdom, the people will benefit a hundred times; if you abandon benevolence and righteousness, the people will regain filial piety and kindness; if you abandon cleverness and profit, there will be no thieves... Although the set you and Uncle Xue believe in is beautiful, it is a sweet poison to this world and a beautiful lie... What I do may be hated and scolded by some people, but the other people and everyone in the next era... one day you will feel the meaning behind these things."

He said this, picked up the bottle again and drank all the remaining little wine in the bottle.

"If you don't kill me today, I will continue to do this in the future." Zilin said, "You know me, I have no personal grudges with anyone, and I will not change my approach for personal emotional reasons. This is also the reason why Tianyi chose me."

"Yeah." Jack nodded when he heard this, "I won't kill you. Haven't you said halfway?"

"Oh?" Zilin put down the wine bottle, "You mean..."

"For justice, I hope you can continue to do this in the future." Jack continued, "For the sake of minorities, or personal grudges, I think keeping you alive is a cruel revenge than killing you."

When he said this, he had completely restrained his murderous intent and fighting spirit and turned around without any defense.

Zilin looked at his back and did not call him, but a little disappointment appeared on his face.

"Whether you are a tyrant or a wise king... it doesn't matter to me." Jack said, walking out of the court. "After all, how history books record you, how people interpret you, how you think, how people around you judge, and what the objective truth is... it has never been the same thing.

"Emperor, king, general, prime minister... will eventually be saved by merciful and equal death.

"Merit, demerit, destruction, reputation... will also be distorted by cold and eternal time.

“You said that each of us is guilty.

"Then let us pay for the rest of our lives, just hope we won't interact with each other again."
