Chapter 494 Saying and doing are two things
"How are our army training now? Have their morale been cheered up since the Battle of Sicily?"
When Montgomery finished speaking confidently, Churchill shifted his attention from the movie screen to Montgomery and said calmly.
"We have gradually stood up from failure, but the number of veterans is not as high as before the war! Especially those of us who have experienced the North African and Tunisia battles have reduced almost half of the troops!"
"Now we are adding most of the new recruits, and we are still new recruits who have no practical experience!"
"So we have to spend more time and energy training them to become qualified soldiers now!"
Montgomery was shocked when Churchill looked at it and asked this and immediately responded.
"We don't have much time to delay, so I feel that as long as these new recruits learn general shooting methods and fighting methods, they can immediately participate in actual combat and accumulate more practical experience!"
Churchill said lightly.
"But in this case, are we too risky? Those German troops are not easy to deal with, and their individual soldiers' quality cannot be underestimated!"
Montgomery worried after hearing this.
"I know! But we really can't do rigorous training slowly now; and the real battlefield is the best place for new recruits to train. As long as you give these new recruits to survive on the battlefield with bullets, they can quickly become a veteran with rich combat experience!"
Churchill waved his hand gently and decided.
"But if we really want to do this, our troops will have to suffer many casualties before they can achieve the rhythm of the new recruits you just said to be turning into veterans!"
Montgomery disagreed.
"No matter how much the price we have to pay, we must quickly replenish the army; otherwise we will never be able to open a second battlefield in Europe to attack those damn Germans!"
"Especially now Hitler already has a huge aircraft carrier fleet, a large number of advanced weapons and equipment, and the Air Force!"
"If we still recover our strength as slowly as we are now, I'm afraid the German army will find a way to attack us before we can fully restore our original combat power!"
"So I don't want to see our troops defeated by Hitler's German army on the battlefield again and flee in a mess!"
Churchill said the truth.
"Don't worry! Prime Minister Churchill! I will never lose to those hateful Germans anymore. I will turn the defeat into victory! Kill those Germans in a piece of armor without leaving any left!"
Montgomery disagrees.
"We dispatched hundreds of thousands of troops, a large number of fleets, and aviation troops to assist in the battle, but what about the end? We were still defeated by a large number of new weapons and equipment from the German army?"
Churchill sarcastically said without any belief.
"We were careless last time, but I will never let the Germans defeat this battle again; even if they still have a lot of new weapons and equipment to deal with us, I am not afraid of them!"
"Because this time we already know the true strength of the German army, we can quickly change our strategic nuclear tactics to deal with Hitler and his troops!"
Montgomery responded unhappily when he saw Churchill Ann's sarcastic expression.
"Speaking and doing are two different things, so we cannot rely too much on our intelligence sources. Instead, we must lead our troops to the front line to understand the real strength of the enemy. Only then can we know more accurately and deal with Hitler's German army and annihilate them!"
Churchill glanced at Montgomery and said seriously.
