Chapter 057 Emerald Star Survival I

On the morning of May 4th, the surface of the Emerald V planet was sunny and windy, and the sky was high and the clouds were clear.

Private First Class Dewey was lying on the top of a cactus tree covered with downy thorns, looking at fellow medic Stephanie and prospector Paz, who were lying on a taller cactus tree not far away with their buttocks sticking out.

.He thought to himself: Okay, now it’s over.

"This is the Masked Scorpion in the Sand!" The prospector riding on the tree slapped his thigh, looking distressed, "I should have thought of it a long time ago!"

You should have thought of it earlier? Then why the hell didn't you think of it? Dewey cursed in his mind while looking at the huge creature with a hard black shell lingering under the cactus tree with trepidation.

This thing looks very much like the creature called "Scorpion" in the illustrated book, but it is many times larger. Its tail is raised high, and it is no more than half a meter away from the top of the tree where Dewey is.

"If this damn thing could jump, I would really die here!" Dewey complained on the communication channel. He tried to shrink his limbs as much as possible to reduce the area that could be attacked by the scorpion.

"Dewey, what should we do!" came Stephanie's crying voice, "I'm so scared, I'm about to pee!"

He turned around and looked over. Under the cactus tree where the other two people were, there were five or six large scorpions surrounding them. Obviously, two carbon-based humans were more attractive than one carbon-based human.

"Even if you peed in your space suit, as long as you don't tell us, we won't know." Dewey tried to maintain his balance, "Now you can only hope that before the support troops sent by the captain arrive,

You won’t fall out of a tree in fear because your hands and feet are stiff!”

The three of them were recruits recruited by Nidhogg in the e101u system and joined the army this year.

After four months of training at the main star base, this is the first time they have been sent to an outer galaxy to perform an exploration mission.

The exploration mission, as the name suggests, is to go around here and check the planet's conditions, including flora and fauna, mineral conditions, weather, etc.

But it was such a simple mission, and many of them had already died. In fact, Dewey's team originally consisted of six people. However, half an hour ago, the other three people had been poisoned by the green juice due to triggering a highly poisonous plant.

It was corrupted into a puddle of pus.

This also includes a superior soldier captain who has completed this mission.

Recalling the horrifying scene not long ago, Dewey couldn't help but patted the cactus tree under him thankfully. Fortunately, this cactus tree had downy needles and could not cause any damage to the heavy space suit on his body.

If it was a long-needle cactus... I'm afraid the three of them would have become delicacies in the belly of the scorpion.

"Dewey, when will the captain's support arrive!" the prospector shouted on the communication channel, "I'm really afraid of what will happen if these scorpions bite the cactus tree!"

When Dewey heard this, he couldn't help but subconsciously glanced under the tree. The huge black stinger of the scorpion was glowing with a faint purple light, which looked like it was highly poisonous. He quickly used his own brain to deny this.

possibility.

"Don't think too much! Didn't the textbook say that cactus has a certain detoxification effect?"

"But that's only for the human body!" Paz shouted loudly, "Who knows if it can withstand the attack of scorpions?"

"Don't be that crow-mouthed!"

After Dewey finished shouting, he saw a small plume of smoke appearing on the sand in the distance.

"Oh, God of Laws bless you!" He breathed a sigh of relief, "Our reinforcements are coming."

It was a slightly thin-looking off-road adventure vehicle, with a thin body sandwiched between four huge rubber wheels. Only a machine gun on the roof gave people a huge sense of security.

A strange man's voice sounded on the communication channel: "I'm Sergeant Chris, Ranger. It seems like the little guys in the recruit camp are in trouble?"

"Sergeant, help!" Stephanie shouted immediately.

"Wow wow wow wow, don't be so excited, little girl." The man's voice came again, "If you don't greet the superior when you meet him, now you owe me ten push-ups."

Paz immediately interjected: "Don't make it difficult for her, Sergeant. This guy was so scared that he peed just now. He may have filled half of his space suit with water at this moment."

"I understand. Since it's not easy to do push-ups in the water, I'll just fine you five."

The bad laughter of the two men came from the channel, while Dewey, who was lying on the top of the tree, remained silent. At this moment, he was gritting his teeth and thinking: Damn it, he is almost dead, why are these guys

Can you still be so relaxed?

The off-road vehicle roared over and stopped fifty meters away.

"Hey, black-shelled scorpions, this is really a rare species."

Dewey could see the Ranger sergeant sitting in the car, looking curiously at the group of scorpions under the tree.

"This is a masked scorpion, sergeant! A masked scorpion in the sand!" the prospector introduced, "This creature has appeared in our exploration course. They often live in cold and damp caves and are extremely aggressive. Because

The structure is special, so their mouth looks like a human face. That’s why the Masked Scorpion got its name!”

"Then you know a lot." Chris sneered, "Stay still, I'm going to open fire. If you move around and get accidentally injured, I won't be responsible."

Ah, it's finally over. Dewey, who was lying on the top of the tree, couldn't help but breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the blue light coming from the machine gun muzzle.

…Wait, why Blu-ray?

Dewey's pupils shrank sharply, and at the same time, Paz's yelling came from the communication channel.

"Sergeant, no!"

However, it was already too late. Sergeant Chris, who was aiming at the scorpions, had already pulled the trigger button with a puzzled expression. The dense pulse rays immediately covered the group of scorpions under the tree, causing a cloud of smoke and dust.

"No what? What no?"

The sergeant in the car was confused when he suddenly saw many huge black shadows popping out of the smoke. They jumped at extremely terrifying speeds and rushed straight towards the off-road vehicle.

The poor Dewey trio couldn't see anything because their sight was blocked by smoke and dust. They could only hear a series of terrifying sounds from the communication channel.

The sound of glass being broken, Sergeant Chris's scream, the crunching sound of being eaten, and the crunching sound of bones being broken by claws.

A layer of blood-curdling cold sweat broke out on Dewey's forehead, and he swallowed involuntarily.

After a long while, the trembling voice of the prospector came from the silent communication channel.

"Sand, Sand Masked Scorpion is not afraid of pulse rays...I should have thought of it earlier..."

Dewey finally couldn't help but yelled: "So why the hell didn't you think of that just now?!"

"I thought of it later! But it was too late when I wanted to remind you!" Paz argued aggrievedly.

"What kind of hindsight reminder are you doing?! Shouldn't this kind of thing be added when you just introduced him to the characteristics of the species? Or earlier, it shouldn't be when I ask the captain for help.

, should you have told me?!"

Dewey looked at the man riding on the tree over there and was so angry that he was shaking all over: "It was the poisonous plant just now, and you didn't realize it was poisonous until people were dead! Then why do we need you as a prospector?!"

"I……"

The poor prospector didn't know how to argue.

"It's okay now, the support team is also dead! Let's just wait and stay in this tree for three days and three nights, and be blown into dried meat by the wind!"

Dewey sighed heavily into the microphone, and then looked in the direction of the off-road vehicle.

There is only a pile of remains there now, and there are blood stains scattered on the ground. As for the sergeant's bones, they have already been eaten clean by the scorpions.

When Dewey was about to call for help from the troops again, Stephanie's voice came from the channel.

"Where are those...those scorpions?"
