148, Mexican Killing Procedures Set(1/3)

Not long after Duca handed over the new script to the three directors, almost everyone in the industry knew that LV Pictures was preparing an action movie, or that it was a movie project that Paramount Pictures had abandoned. It was an action commercial movie.

Many people in the industry are not optimistic about this.

As we all know, LV Pictures is better at niche literary and artistic and ethical love movies.

It is obviously not a wise choice to rashly enter the field of commercial films without even recouping the cost of several films.

However, after the news was made public, many directors in the industry came forward to apply for jobs, hoping to become the director of LV Pictures' new film project.

There are 13 veteran directors who have made certain achievements in action movies, as well as more than 20 new directors.

There are also three familiar directors, Director Rodriguez, Director Kathryn Bigelow, and Director Michael Bay.

Michael Bay is the director of "Black and White" and a newcomer to the industry. For this movie, he personally went to the company to establish friendship with Duca.

When Duca saw these resumes, he didn't know which one to use better for a while, so he arranged an assessment task-adapting the script.

The director who is willing to direct the film can rewrite a new script according to the original script, or direct one-third of the script.

Whoever submits a new script that satisfies him the most will be chosen as the director.

All in all, this assessment does not look at past results, but only at ideas and skills. This is fair to both new and experienced directors and lasts one month.

This kind of assessment is not surprising in Hollywood.

There are a lot of talents in Hollywood, and if you want to get ahead, you need to show your true ability and sincerity.

When many directors are applying for jobs, in order to impress the producers, they will write tens of thousands of words of shooting plans, or director scripts, or even shoot a pre-title sequence to prove their ability.

For example, Peter Jackson, the director of "The Lord of the Rings", spent his own money to shoot more than ten minutes of footage before filming "The Lord of the Rings", and finally impressed New Line Cinema and obtained investment.

Now he asks directors to write scripts, which is not a particularly excessive request.

A month later, 12 directors submitted new scripts and director's scripts.

Director Rodriguez submitted a new script. Unfortunately, the new script was in the style of a Western movie and was not intense enough, so it was not suitable.

Director Kathryn Bigelow showed little interest in the film and did not submit the film.

Director Michael Bay submitted more than ten hand-drawn movie scripts, which are similar to the Jiugongge creative storyboard, and they look pretty good.

But among the directors who submitted the script, one named Jane Bunter showed the most sincerity.

The other party not only handed over a new script, but also took out a thick stack of director's scripts, using Jiugongge artwork, and drew half of the movie script.

It is said that he could only draw these because he didn't have enough time. If he had more time, he could have finished them all.

And this Jane Bunter is a new director, 50 years old this year, who has been the chief cinematographer of action movies such as "The Hunt for Red October" and "Die Hard".

He also got the script from "The Hunt for Red October" director John McTiernan.

After getting it, he concentrated on writing, hoping to have the opportunity to direct this movie.

Later, when he heard about the assessment of LV Pictures, he was so happy that he devoted himself to drawing the movie script and just walked out of the studio today.

Duca read the other party's script and script, and felt that it was similar to the plot design in his memory.

So he made the decision to use this new director to direct the project.

After confirming the director, the LV Films Production Department signed a director contract with director Jane Bunter, allowing the other party to continue completing the new film script.

If all goes well, preparations for the film will begin in June or July in the second half of next year.

"Duka, you just gave the opportunity to an unfamiliar director instead of Robert?"

In the Kapok Club, Quentin is fighting against Director Rodriguez.

"Opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared. This is a new script written by Director Bunter. Robert, do you want to read it?" Duca smiled softly, took out a script and said.

"Okay, I'll study too."

Director Rodriguez smiled, took the script and started reading it.

"How is the filming of Pulp Fiction going? When will it be finished?"

Duca asked.

"Don't worry, this movie has more scenes and the plot is more complicated. It's not as fast as "Reservoir Dogs", but I can guarantee that this movie is definitely a super cool movie. I guarantee that you will be wowed after watching it.

He kept shouting."

Quentin raised his big chin and said proudly.

"Haha, that's great, I'm looking forward to it."

Duka smiled and clinked the wine glass with him.

"How is the company lately? Why did I hear that LV Pictures is about to collapse under your leadership?"

Quentin joked while shaking his glass.

"How is it possible? LV Pictures is very good, but our movie has not been released for a year. When the new movie is released, those doubtful voices will automatically disappear."

Duca is also a little helpless about this. LV Pictures has no distribution channels, and the release time of the movie depends on the arrangements of the distribution company and theaters.

When LV Pictures has its own publicity and distribution channels, its films will not have to wait so long to be released.

"Duka, don't be careless. I don't want to wait until "Pulp Fiction" is finished and the film company goes bankrupt."

Quentin grinned.

"Don't worry, even if you retire, LV Pictures will not go bankrupt."

Duca shook his head.

After a while, Director Rodriguez put down the script and sighed softly,

"It is indeed a good script. The plot arrangement is more intense and exciting. It meets the requirements of mainstream action movies. Director Bunt is indeed suitable to direct this movie."

Director Rodriguez said.

"Really, let me see?"

Quentin took the script and read it for two minutes, then shook his head and put it down.

"I don't like this kind of script. It's too mainstream and commercial. It's not my cup of tea."

Duka smiled and did not refute.

"Robert, you said last year that you were going to write a new script. How is it going?"

"Haha, don't mention it now. Robert wrote two scripts and showed them to me after they were written. Do you know how I felt after reading his scripts?"

Quentin laughed.

"explain!"

"Empty! When he was filming "The Killer", Robert was still a rookie in the industry, full of ideas and passion. After filming "The Killer", all the accumulated thoughts and emotions in his mind were eliminated.

Without having many ideas, he really wants to continue filming and doesn't want to be left behind, so what should he do?

He had no choice but to write hard, like he had no eggs in his stomach but wanted to lay a nest of eggs. How could this be possible?

He can only make it up, and how good can the script be?"

Quentin shrugged his shoulders and smiled.

Director Rodriguez's face slowly turned dark as he listened to his words.

"I have loved movies since I was a teenager and wanted to make movies when I grew up, so I usually consciously accumulate materials and create scripts at the same time.

There are at least hundreds of very creative scripts in my study in my hometown. I only filmed one movie, how could I use all the creative ideas?"

"Is hundreds a lot? Before the final draft of "Pulp Fiction", I spent more than half a year looking for materials. I worked on it almost all of 1992. I wrote more than thirty versions. Roger and I killed more than ten, and the remaining

Everyone was killed by this bastard Duka. It wasn't until the last version that this guy reluctantly nodded. Do you think your script can stand the test?"

Quentin thought about the days when he was rejected by Duca, and he still felt aggrieved.

Duka shook his head, "I do it for your own good."

"Haha~, thank you."

Quentin rolled his eyes and said.

Next to him, Rodriguez was speechless. After a long time, he sighed softly,

"I seem to be a little too eager. After the filming of "Mexico", although the box office was amazingly popular, the reputation was average. I wanted to make another movie to prove myself.

But I have never been able to come up with good ideas, nor have I found a script that suits me.

This time I heard that the director of "Speed" was selected. I knew that I was not suitable for this genre, but I still had the courage to participate. I really became impatient."

"Haha, as long as you understand, it doesn't matter, everyone is the same.

After "Reservoir Dogs" was released, I became very impatient and often thought about writing a good script to achieve greater success, but the more impatient I became, the worse I could write and wasted several months."

"Then how did you finally calm down and write a good script like "Pulp Fiction"?"

Director Rodriguez asked.
