Chapter 1 The Terror Train
At midnight, the train had already turned off its lights.
Even though the train was running at high speed at the moment, the carriage was so smooth that it was almost eerie. Not only was there no bumps, not even the sound of friction on the rails could be heard.
There was silence in the cold sleepers. There was a black bulging shadow on each bed. The passengers sleeping on them wrapped their quilts tightly. Everyone was wrapped extremely tightly, not only their hands and feet, but even their heads were not exposed.
in the air.
In the middle berth of a certain carriage, a young man was shivering and huddled in bed.
In the darkness, he clutched his cell phone and typed quickly. The blue light on the screen shone on the young man's face, making his face extremely pale.
The mobile phone signal completely disappeared shortly after the train departed. Whether it was sending messages or making calls, any method of seeking help from the outside world was in vain.
Before lights out, an announcement was made that all passengers who purchased sleeper tickets must fall asleep before midnight; even if they are not sleepy, they must stay in bed, otherwise they must do so at their own risk.
At first, no one paid much attention to the strange broadcast content, thinking it was just a slip of the tongue by the staff.
However, the moment the train turned off its lights, everyone on the ground seemed to have been crushed by some kind of gravity falling from the sky, and turned directly into a pool of blood and mud.
After realizing the seriousness of the problem, the surviving passengers had to follow the instructions on the radio and get into bed.
…
"Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta!"
It was like the sound of high heels stepping on the floor, which was extremely harsh in the quiet car. Every time the sound passed by the bed, it would stay briefly for a few minutes. Then, it would continue moving forward.
The footsteps came closer and closer, approaching the carriage where he was.
Upon hearing this movement, the young man immediately put down his cell phone and closed his eyes.
In the cold and dark bed, a large area of the young man's back was already wet. He clasped his hands together and prayed silently, hoping that the footsteps would leave as soon as possible.
"Ahhhhh! Help!!! No, don't kill me!!!"
A middle-aged man's frightened howl came from the car in front. With the huge movement, he seemed to have rolled off the bed and ran towards the corridor in a panic.
The man took long, heavy and unrhythmic steps and ran to the carriage where the young man was. He fell hard, and first begged for mercy, and then gradually turned into piercing screams, wails, and curses.
The carriage was suddenly filled with a fishy and unpleasant smell.
…
Liquid splashed and the crisp sound of broken bones filled the carriage, like the prelude to the echoes of hell.
Another person was killed.
The young man suddenly stirred and held his breath again.
"Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta!"
The footsteps calmly arrived at the man's location, followed by a rustling sound. Plastic bags containing heavy objects were slowly dragged on the floor, making a chilling rubbing sound.
Listening to the movement nearby, even the young man in bed felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave, and cold sweat broke out. The man's screams echoed in his ears, and even though the footsteps had gone far, the chill in his heart remained.
Never faded away.
Damn it, what the hell is going on with this train?
What is it that's been killing people out there?
Was that man just... really dead?
Once curiosity sprouts deep inside, it will quickly take root and grow, making people feel itchy.
He even had a sense of luck, thinking that he just encountered some prank show.
How could there be ghosts in this world?
Just take a look and confirm.
With this thought in mind, the young man changed his cell phone into video recording mode, and then slowly lifted up a corner of the bed.
1,2,3,4,5...a full 30 seconds.
The young man finished the shooting quickly, his heart was beating wildly, and his cell phone was covered with clammy and greasy sweat from his palms, and he almost slipped off when he was getting back into bed.
He opened the photo album tremblingly, only to see darkness in the center of the screen.
The horrific scene he imagined did not appear. The floor in the corridor was clean, and there was nothing except a night light that flickered on and off.
Could it be that everything just now was just my imagination?
The young man checked the video content several times and found no trace of the body.
Sure enough, this is just a prank, right?
Not only the passengers sleeping across from him, but also the people in other sleepers are also actors invited by the show team.
And the corpse just after the lights were turned off...maybe it was a trick created by some kind of deception and props?
The young man thought this and secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Just when he was hesitating whether to continue pretending, his peripheral vision was attracted by something on the screen.
Generally speaking, shouldn't the night lights at the corners of the aisles be yellow or white? Why is it a weird red like blood?
The young man trembled and zoomed in on the screen. Then he shuddered and his cellphone fell out of the bed uncontrollably, hitting the ground with a thud.
This sound was like thunder on the ground in the deathly silent carriage. The picture just now still stayed on the lit screen: there was not nothing in the dark corridor, but a woman was quietly prostrate.
She was wearing a black flight attendant uniform, which almost blended into the dark background. And the weird flashing red night light was exactly the woman's eyes that kept blinking when she opened and closed them.
"Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta! Ta!"
Footsteps sounded again, and this time, they stopped directly at the head of his bed.
The high-heeled foot stepped on the phone screen and cracked it. Through the quilt, the young man could feel a sinister and evil gaze staring at him.
This feeling is getting stronger and stronger. Coldness, uneasiness, and fear seep through the quilt and into every corner of my body.
The young man closed his eyes tightly, but could no longer remain calm.
This kind of shiver that penetrated into the bone marrow...At this moment, the young man was finally sure that the person standing in front of his bed was definitely not a human being!
He tried hard to fall asleep, but the fear of being spied on never went away.
He knew clearly that it was standing next to his bed, staring at him silently...
He couldn't control his emotions and had no way not to be afraid. The four corners of the quilt were tucked tightly by him. The oxygen in the quilt was scarce and it was getting hotter and hotter, but his hands and feet were still cold.
The quilt shook slightly, affecting the entire bed, and there was a harsh creaking sound at the joints of the iron frame.
Without any warning, the last layer of safety barrier pressing on the body was pulled away bit by bit.
The cold, fresh air replaced the stuffy quilt. But the bedside was empty, and there was no one around.
The next second, the young man's pupils shrank suddenly.
The bed made a squeaking sound——
Two cold, stiff, pale arms slowly poked out from under the quilt, followed immediately by a head with long hair hanging loose.
"Passenger, it's already half past two in the morning, why aren't you sleeping yet?"
The woman slowly raised her head and showed her strong white teeth towards the young man.
…
The wilderness at night was shrouded in a wet and cold fog. The ghostly and strange green train rushed through the thick fog and drove along the railway towards the vast distance of the night.
