Chapter 422 The Ginkgo Tree in Ashoka Temple
The sky is high and the clouds are chatting, and the sun is vast. In autumn, Ashoka Temple is always majestic and quiet, giving people a little Zen meaning. The wooden eaves of the temple are quiet and quiet. Standing in the temple, you will feel relaxed and happy, peaceful and peaceful.
The eaves and treasure roof are full of pure land. Three branches of fragrant fragrance, one branch of Buddha, one branch of Dharma, and one branch of monks. Hold the incense to the height of your forehead, close your eyes and make a wish, and then bow three times.
The Buddha statue is silent, the wealth and prosperity of life, the reincarnation of the past gradually fades away in the curling smoke. Wang Yiyuan and Xiao Xiaoxiao bowed devoutly one by one. Feeling a pure and peaceful feeling that is beyond the dust, and getting angry with a solemn and peaceful heart.
Going to the temple to burn incense means lighting your own heart incense. Lighting the lamp means lighting your own heart lamp. At this time, you can get the blessings of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and gain wisdom.
The incense in the temple here is given, with one pack for each person, nine branches of fragrance, three halls in front and back, and three branches of each hall. Buddhism believes that when offering incense in front of the Buddha, a wisp of green smoke fragrance rises upwards, which can understand people's faith in the Buddha, thereby achieving a harmonious communication between people and Buddha.
This normal practice is unusual, showing the difference between Ashoka Temple. It not only shows the temple's fraternity and environmental protection, killing two birds with one stone, so that tourists can feel good about Ashoka Temple. If you have a closer look at Ashoka Temple, there are only devout pilgrims and leisurely monks. This is the pure Buddhist atmosphere. Just imagine, what are the temples that give incense now?
As one of the "Five Mountains of China" in Chinese Buddhism and one of the "Five Temples of China" in Zen Buddhism, Ashoka Temple is known as the "Eight Auspicious Places". What is the Eight Auspiciousness? Eight Auspiciousness is also called the Eight Treasures of Buddhism, and it symbolizes the power of Buddhism. The Eight Auspiciousness is abbreviated as wheels, snails, umbrellas, lids, flowers, jars, fish, and long. Buddhism uses these eight utensils to symbolize auspiciousness, and is called "Eight Auspiciousness" or "Eight Treasures of Buddha". Among them, the Dharma snail is a first-grade pattern, which has a wonderful sound and auspiciousness; the long plate ranks in the eighth grade, and can be regarded as the representative of the "Eight Auspiciousness".
There is a square forehead of the "Mahatma Hall" between the eaves of the Great Hall, and a horizontal plaque under the lower eaves is written "Jie Xing and the round", which is written by Emperor Qianlong. The horizontal plaque in the hall is written "The Roar of the Good Lion" is also the imperial pen of Emperor Qianlong. In the hall, Sakyamuni Buddha is sculpted, the Medicine Buddha in the east and the Venerable Ananda, and the Venerable Amitabha Buddha and the Venerable Kashyapa in the west.
The square forehead between the eaves of the relics hall is written on it, which is written by Emperor Xiaozong of Song. The yellow plaque on the lower eaves is written on the "Relic Hall". The tower with a vertical forehead "Taoku Top Light" is hung on the imperial letter of Emperor Gaozong of Song. The horizontal plaque "Lighting and Solemn" is hung on the south side. In the middle of the hall is a seven-meter-high stone pagoda, which is placed in the "Relics Light" Buddha niche inlaid with seven treasures, and the statue of Libin and Ashoka are placed below the tower. The statue of Sakyamuni reclining Buddha is housed at the back of the stone pagoda, which is about 4 meters long.
Unfortunately, the door was closed that day, and it took an opportunity to see the Buddha's relics.
After visiting the Heavenly King Hall, the Great Hall and the Relic Hall on the central axis, there is a long corridor leading to the Five Hundred Arhat Hall on the right side of the temple. There are many rows of five Hundred Arhats in the hall, and the Dharma is solemn.
That morning, Wang Yiyuan and Xiao Xiaoxiao set off early. It was less than nine o'clock in the morning when they arrived at Ashoka Temple. Wang Yiyuan was already very familiar with this place. They went to find the housekeeper monk who arranged for the believers. After registering, they went to the vegetarian hall for breakfast.
When I went there, I used the time to vegetarian food. I came from such a faraway place in Shanghai and could still have the chance to use the morning vegetarian food in the temple. It was a small Buddhist fate.
The housekeeper and Wang Yiyuan met naturally. After a chirping noise, he said, "Donor, there is a Buddhist meeting in the lecture hall next to him in the afternoon. A monk from Putuoshan Buddhist College came to give lectures. You can go over and listen to it."
In the car that came, Wang Yiyuan had already told Xiao Xiaoxiao about his indissoluble bond with this temple, especially when he went to Shanghai after drawing lots here, and when Da Da started contacting her again.
Xiao Xiaoxiao couldn't help crying at that time. At this time, the car was driving on the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. She grabbed Wang Yiyuan's arm while driving, couldn't help sobbing, and said with tears in her eyes, "You dead bastard, you've even been to the temple for the New Year."
She choked and said, "I remember I asked you, where did you spend the New Year?" You stammered and refused to tell me directly. Who would have thought that you would celebrate the New Year in a temple? You really suffered? But you have no place to go, so it's OK in a factory?"
Wang Yiyuan smiled and said, "I have been in the factory for several years." I just came to Shanghai. At that time, my first Spring Festival was in the factory when I was at Oriental International Trade. You probably know it too."
However, this is my blessed land. In recent years, I went to Shanghai, found a job, started a printing factory, and now I have been working in all aspects. Of course, the most important thing is to find you. The root cause is that blessings extend from here.
He said, so I am still full of gratitude and special feelings for this place. I don’t know if you can understand that when a person feels confused or even heartbroken when he feels that the road ahead is in a state of mind, even a ray of light, it can give him infinite comfort and hope. This place has brought me such light, which is really the light that I brought to me.
In the backyard of Ashowang Temple in Yinzhou, there are two thousand-year-old ginkgo trees. When you look closer, you will see that these two ginkgo trees are indeed majestic and unique. The diameter of the tree is about two meters, and it takes six or seven people to hug them. Looking up, the leaves are in the stage of green to yellow. Several golden leaves fall on the ground with the wind, and there are still many ginkgo fruits on the ground.
The tree is tall, forming a scene of "ancient and colorful ginkgo trees" and has a grand momentum, which also highlights the solemnity and majesty of the temple, the profoundness of Buddhism and its protection of understanding, and its tenacious character of "frost and snow erode the old and immortal" with the ascetic practice of Buddhism.
Among the famous ancient temples and temples in various parts of my country, if you are careful, you will find that most temples contain ancient ginkgo.
These ginkgo trees have a green and upright body, fan-shaped leaves, parallel veins, clean and elegant, and have a religious artistic conception that is not disturbed by the mortal world. In Buddhism, ginkgo trees are called "holy trees", and ginkgo fruits are holy fruits. Most temples like to replace ginkgo trees in Buddhism: Bodhi trees, so they are called "Chinese Bodhi trees". Ginkgo trees live long and their juices are natural insecticides. Therefore, even though many tree species are planted in temples and Taoist temples, other tree species die in short age, and the ginkgo trees are becoming more and more prosperous.
Thousand-year-old trees and ancient temples stay together in the wind and rain. Such a beautiful secluded environment, spring goes and autumn comes, the fallen leaves are not swept away, the prosperity is seen, and the world is far away from the world.
Although it is not yet late autumn, the two thousand-year-old ginkgo trees in Ashoko Temple still have golden leaves that flutter and fall down, covering the grass, stone roads and eaves with scattered golden pieces. Against the backdrop of this thousand-year-old temple, it becomes a beautiful scenery in autumn.
Not far from the ginkgo tree, there is a stone stele forest, with sections of Buddhist scriptures carved in seal scriptures.
Wang Yiyuan and Xiao Xiaoxiao walked over and looked forward one by one. The first stone tablet reads, "The Buddha said: All conditioned dharmas are the harmony of causes and conditions. When a cause and condition arise, there will be no cause and condition until the end is gone, and this is the case.
Flowers bloom and bloom, leaves fall yellow and yellow, and because of the beginning, there is an end. Fate comes from cause and condition, and everything in life is nothing more than a fate.
