Chapter 17: Apprenticeship 3(1/2)

Night slowly fell.

On the night of Wanshou Mountain, there are stars everywhere.

It was not until this time that Xuanye carried his heavy bamboo basket and climbed to the top of the mountain step by step. He staggered, as if he would fall down at any time.

The little face was so tired that it was red.

There are three small tiled houses, an incense burner in front of the house and a vegetable field behind the house. This is what he calls Xuanyin Temple.

Pushing open the door, he put the bamboo basket under the big tree in the dark, rolled up his sleeves, scooped a scoop of water from the water tank in the courtyard, washed his hands, turned around and walked to the gate of the main hall, took off his shoes, and walked in on the already old floor.

With the moonlight, he finally found the position of the box, stepped on the box, stood on tiptoe, and took off the oil lamp placed on the lampstand.

He bent down and took out the fire slit from his sleeve, blew it gently, and a little bit, the oil lamp suddenly lit up.

At this moment, he suddenly found that a monkey face appeared in front of him, just one foot away from him!

The expression suddenly became stunned.

"Master, we're back!" The monkey grinned.

Suddenly, the candles around them were lit up.

Xuanye looked around in panic.

"master!"

"master!"

"master!"

Half of the narrow main hall was occupied by the Buddha.

Xuanye's mouth couldn't close.

"Master, we have been waiting for you so hard." He waved his hand to the fat intestines, and the monkey scolded: "What are you waiting for? Can you do things? Can you let the master do something like lighting a lamp?"

"oh oh!"

Before Xuanye could react, the oil lamp in his hand had been taken away by the fat intestine. Then, he was taken down from the box by the monkey and placed it in front of him.

Looking at the monkey, Xuan Ye finally put his first sentence into his mind: "Are you... willing to worship my monk as your teacher?"

"How about not worship?" The monkey smiled and reached out and rubbed Xuan Ye's naked head, then pinched his slightly fat face, and said, "Advisor, I have figured it out clearly. Master, the conditions you have offered are really generous. Look, they are both the robe and the host. You can also take me to ask for advice and methods. Where can I find this in the world? Are you right?"

"Yes, yes!" The monsters quickly agreed.

"So, disciple, I decided to take you as your teacher and join you in the 'multiple, save, live, and live.' Master, look, how about it?"

After saying that, the monkey reached out and rubbed his nose twice, grinned and looked at Xuanye. His eyebrows were as high and low as if Xuanye had agreed.

Looking at the monsters all over the room, it took a while before Xuan Ye truly recovered and hesitated, "It's good, but...what are they?"

As he said that, Xuan Ye looked at the other monsters.

"They? Of course they joined the master together? These are my good brothers."

When he turned around, the monkey waved, and Feiyan quickly put down the oil lamp in his hand and ran over.

"Look at this, fat intestine, does it look like him?" With a finger, the monkey pointed at the portrait of Maitreya Buddha hanging next to him: "Is it very Buddha nature?"

Fat intestine smiled silly.

"And this." Another wave of his hand, Dahong ran over this time: "Look at him, do you look like that?"

With a finger, the monkey pointed at the portrait of the Huhu Arhat and said, "This is also full of Buddha nature!"

With his hands spread, the monkey said seriously: "Look, master, everyone is full of Buddha nature. Do you have the heart to accept it?"

Xuan Ye was stunned when he heard this. The demons around him looked at him with anticipation.

After a while, Xuan Ye stammered and said, "It's good, but... the temple may not be able to afford so many..."

"It doesn't matter if you can't afford it!" The monkey slapped his thigh and stood up, saying, "Then let them be servile!"

The hand pointed at the bull's head: "Would you like to be a servant?"

"I'm willing!" Niuta nodded quickly.

Raising the cow's head's arms, the monkey showed it to Xuanye: "Master, look, this muscle! You're working properly!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the monkey ran towards Baishuang again.

"Housework is stable!"

He ran to Kurooshi again: "Be careful, cautious! Good habits! It's just right to be a follower!"

After saying that, he ran over and held Xuan Ye's hand, and said earnestly: "The master is the abbot, and there are not many people around him who are trying to help. Do you think this is right? Do you think this is right?"

"Not like it or not!"

"The abbot is not rushing and rushing, and can't even receive incense money. Master, this is my experience of apprentice!"

After pulling the ghosts off, the monkey squatted in front of Xuanye again and looked at Xuanye with a smile.

Xuan Ye frowned his young brow and said helplessly: "But... I really can't afford to raise it."

"What are you saying? Master, I'm all tragic, can you raise them? Okay, this matter is decided." As he said that, the monkey slapped his chest and shouted at the group of monsters: "As the master's apprentice, I've decided on this matter so much! You all stay and serve the master very much! Do you understand?"

"Yes! Thank you, Master."

With a shout, the demons quickly knelt down one by one, with three sounds in a row.

"Oh yes, my own teacher hasn't worshipped yet." The monkey then remembered and quickly knelt down and kowtowed three times.

Looking at the monster kneeling in front of him, Xuan Ye couldn't say it for a long time, so he could only nod helplessly and said, "Then... OK."

"Thank you, Master——!"

Suddenly, a burst of cheers rang out from the small temple.

This is probably the most lively night in Xuanyin Temple ever.

Soon, Baishuang brought out the hot meal that had been prepared in the kitchen.

There were only two plates of wild vegetables, and the rice was a whole pot.

"Master, eat vegetables!" The monkey picked up a wild vegetable and put it in the Xuanye bowl, grinning.

"Oh, oh." Xuan Ye lowered his head and snatched the rice, but his eyes were always staring at the fat intestine.

He saw the fat intestine ate a bowl of rice, served another bowl, and then the third bowl, the fourth bowl... at the end, he picked up the whole rice bowl and licked it cleanly.

The monsters were all full, but Xuanye still had half a bowl of rice left in his hand. He looked at the candles that were lit around with some distress, and remembered that he had only three spare candles left...

On weekdays, he only lights oil lamps and does not touch candles.

As soon as he lowered his head, he saw Fat Chan squatting in front of him and looking at him... To be precise, he was looking at the remaining half bowl of rice in his hand.

Xuanye looked down at his meal, then looked up at his fat intestines' saliva.

"Master, are you... not hungry?"

“No…too hungry.”

"Thank you, Master!" Feichan stretched out his hand, snatched the remaining half bowl of rice from Xuanye's hand, and swallowed it in a few seconds. Then he touched his stomach with satisfaction.

Looking at the fat intestines, Xuanye swallowed blankly.

"Master, how can we sleep tonight?" Bai Shuang asked.

After asking, Xuan Ye quickly stood up and said, "I'll prepare bedding for you for your master."

As he said that, Xuanye walked out of the main hall, put on straw sandals, and came to another tiled house.

This room is where monks live in the temple. One single room and one full bed are all there.

Xuanye took his feet and finally carried out the quilt bigger than others, and spread it out with panting.

Outside the door, a group of monsters formed a circle and stretched their necks to see.

"In the past, there were four people in the temple, master, and two senior brothers. Later, the senior brothers left and the master passed away... plus the master, there were four quilts in total. Everyone had to squeeze in."

Seeing this, the monsters outside the door looked at each other and grinned. The smile bloomed.

"There is food to eat, and there is bedding...why don't we leave?" Heiwei lowered his voice and said in a low voice.

The monkey quickly winked at him and told him not to speak.

After a while, Xuan Ye finally sorted out everything.

He assigned Bai Shuang alone to his original abbot's room, moved out himself to sleep in the bed with the others.

Turning around and facing the monkey, Xuan Ye clasped his hands together and said, "Advisor, I feel wronged."

Upon hearing this, the monkey suddenly smiled silly: "Don't feel wronged, don't feel wronged. Are you right?"

"Yes, yes, don't be wronged or wronged." The monsters nodded quickly and smiled.

After spending so many years in the wind, it would be nice to have a tiles covering your head and a quilt? Can this be wronged?

The monsters ran in happily, stepped on the bunk and cheered.

Seeing the monsters' joyful appearance, the young Xuanye couldn't help but sweat and finally smiled with relief.
