Chapter 1,497 Without talent, you can only rely on perseverance(2/2)

His film reviews are very consistent with his identity.

"In the Lord's teachings, human evil deeds are classified into seven sins based on the degree of violation of love: pride, jealousy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony and lust.

It was once explained in "Seven Deadly Sins" that humans are born with original sin.

But people in the world don't think they are guilty, just like Shawshank, the prisoners admit they are innocent.

This world is undoubtedly not a huge prison. Outside the walls is freedom, happiness and love.

We are all imprisoned in Shawshank. We spend our whole lives looking at the outside world but never repent.

Remember the first conversation between Red and Andy?

"You've come to the right place, where everyone is innocent."

Rhett smiled and said to Andy.

The banker who killed his wife was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and her lover.

Even though he was imprisoned in this prison called Shawshank, he still strongly denied it.

Prisoners are tried, found guilty, and sent to prison. Only when they are reborn and become good people can they get out.

Prison is a place to punish them, but it is also a place to redeem them. But the irony is that if they want to get real redemption, they must admit their guilt.

Warden Norton always holds a Bible. He admonishes the new prisoners, "Put your faith in God and entrust your life to me."

In Shawshank, he has absolute authority, as if he is the incarnation of God, to educate these evil people.

Just like he once said to Andy, his favorite sentence in the Bible is this, "I am the light of the world, and whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but must follow the light of life."

But what is hidden in his exquisite suit is sanctimony. He relied on these prisoners to make a lot of black money, and relied on Andy to launder the black money.

He considers himself the master and thinks that the fate of these prisoners is written by him.

Therefore, when Andy found a witness named Tommy who could clear his name, Norton was afraid that the corruption would be exposed and could not accept that there would no longer be a steady flow of black money.

He was so angry that he asked the guard captain Haley to shoot Tommy to death for trying to escape from prison. The black ledger was hidden in his safe behind the painting that read "The Lord's Judgment Comes Soon".

He is cruel, abuses his power, and claims to be a god, but he is not a god after all. In Shawshank, he only judges others, but never examines his own heart.

Not only was he arrogant, but he also committed the crime of greed, so power blinded his heart, and money covered his eyes, and he fell deeper and deeper. This arrogance eventually backfired on him, and the Lord's judgment came quickly, Shawshank

It became his final place.

Some people say Andy is special, he is not an ordinary person, of course he is not!

This was something Rhett discovered when he first arrived in Shawshank. "His pace and conversation were simply alien. He was like walking in the park, carefree, as if he was wearing an invisibility cloak."

Andy is indeed different.

One of the important reasons why this movie is great is that the character Andy it depicts is great in itself.

He was persevering and spent nearly 20 years digging a tunnel leading to freedom. Many people were saved by Andy's final escape. After struggling to crawl through the 500 yards of dirty and smelly sewer pipes, he faced a thunderstorm and escaped again.

The scene of embracing freedom moved me to tears.

But I was deeply shocked by his careless words.

In order to expand the prison library, he wrote a letter to the state assembly every week to apply for funding, even though he knew it was impossible. He wrote for six consecutive years and finally received a sponsorship of US$200 and a donation of some used books.

He laughed and said, "I have only been writing for six years."

This sentence is shocking. He said, "I only wrote for six years!"

It was an understatement, but it took a full six years!

Andy's persistence is indeed admirable, but what's even more frightening is that he never received any feedback for his efforts.

He doesn't need victory and success to give him a sense of satisfaction and motivation. He just does it habitually, and any gain seems to be an unexpected surprise.

From then on, he began to send two letters a week, and eventually the state Legislature decided to give the Shawshank Library $500 a year so that Andy could write it.

From the moment he stepped into Shawshank, he never admitted his crime.

But nineteen years later, he suddenly realized that it was not me who fired the shot, but I was the one who killed her.

He has already dug the tunnel leading to freedom, and he is waiting for it.

Waiting for this moment, "I did not kill my wife and her lover, and the mistakes I made have been paid for."

He spent nineteen years to redeem himself.

No one can lock him up unless he binds himself.

At this moment nineteen years later, he finally let go of his hatred and liberated himself.
